My almond trees and peach trees finally produced fruit this yr. there small right now but its been 4-5 yrs. and finally.. it excites me. Garden looks good even without help for a bit! BlackBerry plants need alot of water to make big sweet berries! They grow wild on the coastal areas of Oregon and Washington. They grew along our big irrigation ditch in eastern Washington too. The roots like to be kinda damp most of the time. They grew big and sweet if they got lots of water! When the ditch went fry they got small and sour!

Last night I was thinking back, remember it was a struggle this year even getting seeds started, then dirt came in a little late, with other roadblocks, I now understand why; because God saw something else about to happen that he was preparing me for, and now I see it. ❤️
Ms. Lippy, there are a lot of people that never plant their figs in the ground. They plant them in those big tubs that y'all have, and they move them inside a garage or shed or greenhouse when it gets super cold. You might not be able to grow a tree in a little pot, but you CAN grow a fig in a tub! Others are doing it just fine. That's a good fig crop you've got going.

Good evening. I agree had been a crazy year for growing. Lost all the beans in the field in the rains as they flooded. Now fighting worms and caterpillar infestation. Did get a bumper crop off squash this year out of 4 plants. Garden will bounce back now that the master gardener is home. Yes avocado oil is better than peanut oil. Peanut is too refined. Glad to learn about corn starch instead of flour. Oh your garden is lovely!!! love the zinnias! Those are beautiful beans. All the best!
Ms Jean, yes that peanut oil isn’t his friend; but it worked in a pinch. I use a lot of Avocado oil, it’s so good and doesn’t change the taste of food. ❤️

Ms Wanda, Thank You🌷. Buddy collected machine pallets about six months and built these beds in a 2k sqf and we’ve added from there. Next season we will have to take down these beds because they have seen 3 seasons and about to collapse, we will go with mineral tubs like we have on the inside. ❤️

Ms. Lippy, my son discovered something about our blackberries this year. He said he noticed that the blackberries growing in the direct sun without much shade at all is tart but the ones that are growing in mostly shade are sweet. The ones growing around our trees are amazingly sweet. I'm not sure if that is a real condition for the sweetness/tartness of the blackberries or not but we left those in the sun alone. Too tart and almost bitter.
Do you do anything special to the fruit trees for winter? I know you get colder up there than I do. I lost all the rest of my fruit trees last winter😩😩

I'm of the opinion, whatever the Lord provides I should count as a blessing. I also think the obstacles He places in OUR plans are a blessing as well. I figure we are supposed to learn something from those obstacles.

Yes avocado oil is better than peanut oil. Peanut is too refined. Glad to learn about corn starch instead of flour. Oh your garden is lovely!!! love the zinnias! Those are beautiful beans. All the best!
Ms Jean, yes that peanut oil isn’t his friend; but it worked in a pinch. I use a lot of Avocado oil, it’s so good and doesn’t change the taste of food. ❤️

Buddy collected machine pallets about six months and built these beds in a 2k sqf and we’ve added from there. Next season we will have to take down these beds because they have seen 3 seasons and about to collapse, we will go with mineral tubs like we have on the inside. ❤️
My blackberries aren’t sweet either. I was just reading, if you make your soil more acidic, the berries will be sweeter.

Ms. Lippy, my son discovered something about our blackberries this year. He said he noticed that the blackberries growing in the direct sun without much shade at all is tart but the ones that are growing in mostly shade are sweet. The ones growing around our trees are amazingly sweet. I'm not sure if that is a real condition for the sweetness/tartness of the blackberries or not but we left those in the sun alone. Too tart and almost bitter.
