Yeah, great car, wonderful styling. I believe ( not an expert ) you have something extra special. Maybe you know already, but this looks like what was called The Silver Mercury-Limited Edition, made like you see it ( OK forget the engine and current wheel covers ) only in Canada, for a " limited time" . Only source I ever found was a newspaper ad stating / showing: silver exterior, Sport Package ( white buckets and console ) with customer nameplate on console......any evidence of that ? Also, it said " glittering wire wheels " ......I believe they were just wheel covers and that would be the " wire imitators " in your trunk. The pair of mirrors on the doors are exactly the style shown in the ad for the car. I'm trying to find out more about these Silver Mercurys.
Actually the original hubcaps WERE WIRE! AWSOME! Let me know what else you find out about these cars its very interesting and im always learning new things even at my age! Thank you for your comment!
@@axlsnakedog Hey great ! One more wire wheel cover and you've got more of the Silver Mercury ( SM ) package. I've seen only 3 other SM on the net. They were in Alberta, Toronto and one from Saskatchewan, but that one ended up in the States. They all were 2 door Montclair Marauders. A convertible Parklane was offered as a SM, but I've never seen one. SM's also came standard with hood ornament ( extra cost option on non SM Montclairs, and probably Montereys ), and customer choice of the dash, carpet and package tray being black or red. Plus, technically, on non SM cars, the Sports Package was only available from the factory on Parklanes.
That car is simply GORGEOUS
