One note, when you first showed a hiker taking the camping action (the tent) you grabbed the weather token too. To be clear, if you choose to camp, you do not take the weather token. You either take the regular actions, including the weather token, OR you camp.
I dont mean to be offtopic but does anybody know a way to get back into an Instagram account? I somehow lost my password. I appreciate any assistance you can give me
@Alessandro Noel I really appreciate your reply. I found the site on google and im in the hacking process atm. I see it takes a while so I will reply here later with my results.
Yes. The inexperienced player might laser focus on that end-of-year goal, which will give him 2 or 3 points... when for a couple of resources he might have been able to visit a park worth the same amount in one quick action without getting caught up in making several specific choices to chase that little end-of-year bump. The end-of-year bonuses should have been worth a whole lot more victory points, IMHO. I try to always keep the number of points you get in perspective when making choices. Two VPs is not much....
Yeah I agree. The biggest drawback is not being able to put it into the core box. Even the base game you can’t sleeve the cards and get them to fit into the insert. I can overlook these negatives though.
thanks for the review. This seems to improve the game in my mind. i enjoyed the original game but felt too tied to those cards, glad to see them changed. the beauty of the artwork kept me coming back though.
got this a few weeks ago but my regular game partner being isolated, I didnt get to try yet but im happy to hear of the changes and how they seem to work very well in game. Yay!
Thank you I agree with everything here. Specifically the box though. Hopefully if the game extends beyond America to a Canadian expansion or what have you, there is a deluxe box that fits the original and the expansions but the insert fits too well in the core set to toss.
What version is the base game you're showing? The version I have (and the one from your base game review) looks different (eg trail end card, canteen card back, main board iconography, etc).
Question: When you move back to the core game after playing the Nightfall expansion, should the Nightfall park cards be removed. Or, do the Nightfall park cards stay in the deck and the instant actions are just ignored? Thanks!

I held off on backing on KS because we enjoy the base game but we didn't play enough to need an expansion yet. Still haven't played it in about a year now. But this does sound like an improvement with the year cards alone.
Do you (or anyone else around here) know how the main game plays with just 2 players? Does it hold up and does this expansion make it better at lower player counts?
I have a question which I hope anyone who has had a few playthrough of Nightfall could answer. My question is this:- The Nightfall expansion has fixed the most glaring flaw from the base game - the Year Cards. When I introduce Parks as a gateway game to non-gamers, would it cause game imbalance if I just replace the original Yearend cards with those in this expansion (i.e. without complicating it with Campsites or the new Nightfall Park cards - some of which allows instant action)? I wish to draw in the casual players and gradually add more decisions into the game when they become interested in the game. Would appreciate any helpful suggestions/guidance here. Thanks.
I did exactly this. I brought it to a game group, played with 5 people. 3 of us had played before, 2 had not. I played with the base components, except that I substituted the new year cards, and let everyone know the difference. I felt it went very well, and didn't notice any issues.
Something I think really adds value to the game is to play with the new 24 cards cards from the expansion plus 24 four of the old cards. The new cards are great, specially with the bonus actions and also because some of the cards have the brow label ( 3 ) for example that lets you pay with any resource, (or animal token), something you did not have in the base game. I think this little change plus the new year cards make a big difference.
I would highly recommend it. This expansion looks like it makes it even better too. I have both but haven't tried the expansion yet but this made me want to soon.
Ya crazy! I think that cover is excellent. A lot of brown, yes, but not like a normal scene in muted, washed out colors. It’s a nature scene! I love the art style, but to each their own

Came here to say this!

The game-end year cards were the weakest part of Parks for me. This new replacement idea is so much better. Really looking forward to giving it a try.
totally agreed
Foreal. All that work to MAYBE get a couple dinky points

"The tents thing folds in well."
I reeeeeallly enjoyed the fact that you could get multiple year cards and without a doubt the instant action Parks were a very welcome addition

you said "too completion" and "pitch a tent" in the first 60 seconds of this video. you do good work, zee

I think there was a Barnes and Noble exclusive that looked different. Maybe that’s the one you have.
Yeah - that's different from the one I have too (which was the original kickstarter)
I play mostly 2-3 players and I can fit everything into the base game box.

I'd buy it just for the artwork to be honest, but Parka is also a great game in its own right!

@@wanghiskhan7345 I did, but they only ship to the USA and Canada it seems, and I'm in the UK.
Sweet! Hoping to get it for my wife and me (and sometimes our friend) to play! (Parks + Nightfall, that is.)

I hope one day they make an australian parks and expansion.🙏
So glad those new year cards. The old ones were not good at all
Just an idea, You could add “Player Count” to the target audiance blocks for reviews

I'll be picking Parks up to play solo then and getting Nightfall for when I can play with family💓
Half the Park is after Dark!
Thanks Zee, you helped me make up my mind. Cheers
You have a new option... You can now pitch a tent. 🤣
I know.... I'm an idiot.

Yes. Just preordered! Does this also work for the solo play? Not that it would change my mind, but just wondering.
Nightfall works great solo.
@@azza7789 Awesome thanks!
Thanks, Zee!
Anyone know when this actually releases?
Haven’t tried this game.

Glad I backed it... 😅😃🤗
also...pitching a tent....ah! ok...had to be done.
Confession: I threw away the insert from the core game, it wasn't that practical, tbh.
“It’s a gorgeous game as you can see here”.
I dunno, that cover is really brown and bland
