This was Keymaster Games best video to date. It took it's time, explained, showed cards, the cute stuff didn't get in the way. I always liked using wildlife in the base game. Apart from the new cards, the bison token mechanic and two variants could be incorporated into any Parks game.
Love the puppet work, nicely done! I’d watch an ongoing Parks show series with Ranger Paula. Show us some stuff, tell us some stories, play some games, maybe when it gets dark, thrilling tale from the world of Caper or Space Park or a scary one from Campy Creatures, at night around around the campfire.
The biggest con for Parks expansions is that it doesn't fit with the base game's box, so everytime you play it you have to split it yet again between the expansion boxes. It specially sucks since the insert is perfect otherwise.
I actually really appreciate the tight little extra boxes of the expansions, I think part of Parks appeal is the fiddling with it’s components and the production value of it’s content, like a curated curio cabinet for consumer consumption, like Marcel DuChamp’s “Boîte-en-valise”. As far as storage solutions go, if anything at all, I’d buy maybe something like a beautifully produced slotted box from Keymaster that the other boxes could slot into, or something, if they produced it. I just don’t think I could bring myself to throw away any of their boxes
OMG Paula, you crack me up. I was just assembling videos for the 10 games/expansions I was excited about at Gen Con, and I came across this video. You absolutely slay me...hahahahaha
Rules clarification please! Regarding the new trail site that allows you to take the action of an open trial site: 1. Do you take the token on the site if it is available? 2. If you have nightfall expansion, can you use the tent if an open trail site has a tent on it?
Great video. A little bit confused about the end of year cards. Do you recommend shuffling these new ones into the night expansion ones, or just use the night ones on their own?
If you are playing with the Nightfall expansion use only the Nightfall Year cards. If you are playing just the base game with only the Wildlife expansion, shuffle the Year cards from the base game and wildlife expansion together. This is made clear because the Nightfall expansion’s Year cards have a different back and orientation (vertical vs horizontal) compared to the base game and Wildlife expansion. Hope this helps!
@@HEMAYATC That makes sense. Forgot they have different backs. Too bad they didn't include a few more of the nightfall version to add to that deck too. Thanks for the reply.
What if my opponent uses the all opponents gain 1 sun while I'm at my maximum of twelve resources? May I gain it and then immediately discard (a different resource) so that I'm back down to twelve or do I never gain it at all?
That was ridiculously cute and i was massively distracted the whole time. I don't think i learned a thing about the expansion except ANIMALS!.. P.S. i'm really stoned, so it may just be me.
I think this expansion maybe adds a little too much complication to the game, I guess it might be different playing it vs watching it (especially with the bison and gear removal). But not sure if the turn the wildlife into 4 resources, or the picture into 4 resources really adds to the game, unless it's meant to speed up the early game (season 1+2) since those are the slowest. But having the cap of 12 resources does make having animals more important in the late game. I think maybe having a new, more powerful resource maybe would've been better here (or future expansion)? Something that is harder to obtain, but can count as 2 wilds, or have some high point parks that require it, or have a rule where if you keep it in your possession, it can count towards end game points, but cripples your resource wallet capacity. Or other ideas I can come up with are one time use gear cards that "break" after being used, but are very powerful. Gear cards that require resources to use, gear that can only be used on certain seasons, etc. The visit 2 parks gear card seems to be one of the most powerful cards in the base game, and I would like to see something that rivals that (maybe it'll be in this expansion). I'll pick one up when I can buy it on Amazon, unfortunately, I had issues with Fedex when buying it from you guys directly, which delayed my order for a whole week last time.
Thats the idea. Parks is a very, very light game. The purpose of these expansions is to improve the experience for the other side of the board game community. Playing with both expansions turns this into a fairly competitive euro game where paying attention to other players really matters and has a layer or two of actual interaction. This game is now something that's put on the table for more than just the more casual players.

Bravo, Keymaster, for recognizing the talent and charisma of Paula.
Bravo, Paula, for knocking it out of the Park, as usual.

us too 🥹
I love the base game and nightfall, I cannot wait to get this expansion. Very cute video and this will definitely be hitting the table asap.

This isn’t a con as it has no barring on how the game plays. Perhaps it’s a bit inconvenient for you, but it’s hardly a con.
There are custom inserts that fix this. Get them printed in the right color and it looks great still imo.
This is paws down the cutest how-to-play video I've ever seen.

Love the humor and creativity she brings to these videos!
I think this is one of the best how to play videos. So cute. Nice job!

3:21 the owl is peeking! Haha
I occasionally play Parks Solo. Seems like this expansion would fit within that format.
What a wonderful tutorial!
Paula is amazing ❤

Yep exactly what @HEMAYATC said :)
The nightfall ones are always recommended. The base game ones are rather unbalanced.

I'm not expert but I think you only discard down to 12 when its the end of your own turn so if you are above 12 you're good till the end of your turn!
This may be incorrect, but we usually discard immediately and allow swaps in those cases

This video is a work of art
That was fantastic! Long live Jim Henson 🐸 he would be so proud! Is there a solo variant for this expansion🤔?
I need this games =) looks so nice
Question: How cute should the video be: Answer: YES! (Just ordered the German version)
Great video. Great game 🦉🌳🐻
Paula you are amazing.
Love Ranger Paula!
Well done.

I feel your “solutions” for Wildlife adding more complexity actually adds even more complexity.

She is so lovely. I would immediately invite her for a coffee.
