I like to imagine this video plays in its entirety in Tallarico's nightmares, only for him to wake up in cold sweat, having to go to the bathroom from the sound of his 7ft. piss fountain.

Notice how when he says "my mother is very proud" there's a clear omission of WHO the mother is proud of, he could easily add in "of me" at the end but he never does
The only feasible conclusion is that his mother is actually proud of Joey Kuras
nice of tommy to notice this oopsie he used to do
ITS AWAYS JOEY!
Tommy's Batman villain origin is that his mother always preferred Joey over him.
That's the only reasonable conclusion. After watching the video, I'm also proud of Joey Kuras.
this feels like another plot point that would enter the video as a joke only to then lead into a sections where HBG lays out mountains of evidence that Tommy's mom is more proud of Joey than Tommy
April 2024 update: Tommy has been illegally selling sheet music for a song composed by someone else!
Laura Intravia, a composer and vocalist who has worked on Destiny 2 and Mortal Kombat among other games, wrote a song for Video Games Live and performed a solo in it with the VGL orchestra in 2011. She never signed away any of the rights to this song to anyone, but now _someone_ is selling the sheet music for her song to other orchestras. Intravia hasn't ever named him, but has said "it's exactly who you think". It's worth noting that Tommy isn't the only scumbag here; when she pointed out to an orchestra who was playing her piece that it was stolen, they simply said "he gave us the rights to it, not our problem". But ya know, it's nice to know that the guy who founded the Game Audio Network Guild really does care about artists who create music for video games.

I'm guessing that Tommy insists on referencing his "7 foot waterfall" in every interview because the waterfall is actually 6 feet and he's hoping people will think he's tall standing next to it.

You know the coolest thing Joey Kuras did was not publicly coming out and saying "Hey no I made that". Because he doesn't care about clout. He puts what he works on in his official resume for potential employers and corrects people about mislabeling work he was officially credited for on the packaging. He isn't out here trying to look cool, he's just doing his job well and extremely professionally. Actual chad.

Oof
"I got an award for longest UA-cam videos ever made. My mother's very proud."
You guys crack me up 🤣
Here's a short list of some additional revelations that have surfaced since this video came out:
- Although they share the same (real) last name, Tommy Tallarico and Steven Tyler are NOT cousins, and probably not related at all. He likely used the last name connection to convince Tyler and others they were, though.
- Tommy does not play his guitar live in concert. He mimes to a pre-recorded track.
- The "Oof" was not recorded by a child of one of Tommy's employees. It was actually sampled from an older source.
- Tommy never worked on Sonic Black Knight. He merely stole credit for a song someone else wrote and performed.
I knew about the first and the last thing, but damn, he doesn't even play the guitar live? I thought playing in VGL was like the one legitimate thing in his career - even then he was recently found illegally selling an arrangement from one of his composers that he didn't have the rights to - but you're telling me he didn't even play? Damn he's a liar through and through, I'm genuinely impressed, he's like Leonardo in Catch Me If You Can with the way he's gotten through life by lying about literally everything
So, is Steven Tyler really Steven Tallarico, or is Tommy actually Tommy Tyler? or is there a secret third last name
Final point isn’t exactly accurate. He just didn’t create the arrangements for the songs he worked on, but he did still do the instrumentation and produced it. Not defending him in anyway because he did indeed steal credit and not deserve the credit he got, but he DID contribute to the game, even if it was in a malicious way, so it would be unfair to say he never worked on it. A worker who gets fired after a week for stealing money from the register still did work at the place, y’know?
But he did at least _know_ Steven Tyler to some degree, right? He didn't just work on a game with him and then say "oh cool we have the last name, I can tell people we're related" surely??
@@from_no_where the only pictures we have of them together are from one of those super expensive back stage pass meet and greet events. i can imagine Tommy buying a ticket to meet Steven Tyler, then convincing him they're cousins based on their shared last name.
Tommy was the sound director of my birth. All the baby crying noises, doctor chatter, and sounds from my parents were actually him. His mother (and mine) were extremely proud
Did he make the recording of her saying she was proud? So nice of him to help
Fun fact: When Tommy asked God for direction in designing the sound effects for OP's birth, He just told Tommy to "make stuff that sounds cool." In a first for God, he designed OP after the sound effects Tommy Tallarico provided when usually it would be the other way around. This makes Tommy Tallarico the God of the universe. Praise Tommy, for we are made in His image 🙏
I can’t believe every word I’ve ever said was actually dubbed over by Tommy!
One last little sprinkle to throw on top of all this. The joke Talarico keeps telling about his fountain and how it makes him have to use the bathroom? Yeah that's a joke from Friends. Joey got an apartment with a little waterfall fountain in there and he says the problem is it makes him have to use the bathroom. Even that joke is stolen... and ironically stolen from another Joey.
I wonder if Joey's mother is very proud.

So it appears tommy may once again be making money off the backs of others. Time Extension has posted an article outlining the fact that composer Laura Intravia, who composed the 25th anniversary legend of zelda medley for tommy's video game live project, has hinted that tommy sold her sheet music to other unrelated orchestra shows, despite her never giving him the rights to do so. She even had a flute part in the medley that she played by herself, which has been transcribed by ear by the other orchestras.
The end of the article even names hbomb as an individual who has investigated tommy before. Fucking incredible stuff here, really.
Ontop of being a composer, Laura's a phenominal vocalist. Any Destiny 2 players will recognise her as the main vocalist on tracks from Shadowkeep, The Witchqueen and especially Lightfall. She deserves a lot better than to be ripped off by Tommy like that.

If anyone is coming back to this video, hi, and I found an interview where Tommy says he’s good friends with Stan Lee. I guess they hung out together with Shigeru Miyamoto and Jamie Lee Curtis to talk about Micheal Jackson’s work on Sonic 3.
I saw someone else comment it, so I'm plagiarizing it because it's true, but fuck he really is the Hulk Hogan of the video games industry, brother.
@@DaleEarnshark3 Wait I'm out of the loop, what's up with Hulk Hogan?
@@alice88wa Well let me tell you something brother, Hogan these days has become infamous for his tales of fiction that he presents as fact in a similar manner to Tallirico. For every time Tommy has said he's the first American to work on Sonic, Hulk Hogan has said that he auditioned to play bass in Metallica. And that's just one of more infamous examples.
I encourage you to go look up the Huckster's lies, but be warned that because of Hogan's Pathological lying people have actually made up Hogan lies (lieception) and they're plausible that he said them because the tall tales Hollywood has actually said are either mundane to the point where there's no reason to lie, easily disprovable (He claimed that Andre The Giant died 3 days after their match at Wrestlemania III, which was in 1987. Andre died in 1993), or are absolutely ridiculous (the aforementioned auditioning for Metallica story, auditioning for the Rolling Stones, claiming to have wrestled 400 days a year, and many more)
That's what's been going on with Hogan for a while now.
I promise you the “My mother’s very proud” line got a laugh once decades ago and he’s been chasing that high ever since.
I imagine it would have been funny once, like 20-25 years ago when Video Games were still seen as this whole "For Kids, waste of time" thing and not a real job that makes serious amounts of money. You could tell someone you're an audio engineer and music producer for VIDEO GAMES at a time when the only actual publicly well known audio producers were likely Dr. Dre and Nile Rodgers, with the face of the music being the artist instead of the producer being the big name like back in the 50s and 60s, and it would have been an embarrassing admission to some and brought questions of how much money there is in making sounds for kids' games. If you follow up the "yes I make sound for games" with "and yes my mother is very proud that I work on this waste of time aimed at kids" seems like it would illicit a laugh as a self burn from those who share that view that games were stupid.
Oh boy, so he forgot about the context that made his joke work in the first place and just get repeating it after said context became irrelevant... @@Whiteythereaper

My theory about this (and the "the waterfall makes me have to pee" line) is that Tommy believes that if he tells a story, or says a lie, the exact same way every time, it makes it more believable
I promise you that SOMEONE ELSE heard him talk about his "record" and then said 'your mother must be very proud lol' and Tommy uses it every time he can in an attempt to make it seem like his own joke

I know he's narcissistic and doesn't need sympathy since he isn't that affected by any of this, but I can't help it. It's so easy to embellish something just a bit, or even to lie to someone when it won't be important, and then to have it spiral, until you've dug yourself into a hole that you can't get out of without ruining relationships. It seems like Tommy may have just started with boldfaced lies and doesn't feel guilty about it at all, but it's a large motivator for me to try and do better about my own habits. after everything that was discussed in this video, I think the funniest bit is the fact that Tommy keeps his prized GWR plaques ON THE FLOOR. he clearly cares about them enough to pay for fudged records, but he doesn't even hang them up on the wall. this has to be because people/cameras don't get too close of a look if they are not at eye level. what a fascinating man
Someone also pointed out there is a broken light behind him in the video where he discusses the oof compensation ratio. And I'm not trying to get all armchair Freud here but have to wonder it that points to the fact once the public eye is no longer on something he doesn't actually care about. He didn't pay for the world records to have the record, he did it for attention so of course he ultimately doesn't actually give a shit about the award. If a thing is not bringing his attention it's not worth his energy.

However what this means is that he is known for making/influencing decisions which are sometimes not the most well received by fans, such as affecting the decision to move the Paper Mario away from the traditionally RPG and story elements that fans loved to focus more on the paper gimmick, which has led to some polarising games when the first 2 or 3 (depending on who you're talking to) are considered amazing games. I'm a composer, and I used to admire and look up to Tommy Tallarico as this immensely prolific, successful, respected name within the mainstream game audio sphere. In all likelihood, all he actually did was probably to compose the soundtracks of a few games that struck big success - primarily Earthworm Jim - and then to spend the rest of his career spinning publicity and taking credit for the work of others.
And it boggles my mind, because when he _did_ just knuckle down and make music, he made damn good music. He could have stuck to that and had a wildly successful career without telling a single lie.
But no. Making good music is hard. And lying is easy.
Absolute slimeball.
I’ve known it for years, somehow. When you compare Tallarico with Mitsuda, Uematsu, and Shimomura, something doesn’t add up.

Your mother is very proud.
So I realized something very funny about the whole "worked with Miyamoto for 5 years" lie just to compound on the lies. I thought 5 years sounded a bit much for Metroid Prime because I remember hearing that Retro Studios went into crunch time to get the game out so I happened to check the development time frame and the WHOLE game took four years. So he's exaggerating not only how long he worked on the game, HE EXAGGERATED SO MUCH IT WENT PAST THE TOTAL DEVELOPMENT PERIOD.
That also led to a really funny Wikipedia deep dive where I found in an IGN article that Miyamoto said, "As a matter of fact, we were about to present Metroid Prime to the Space World 2001 show, but it doesn't yet have good enough sound effects..." If I'm looking at the timeline right, that's around the time Tommy Tallerico Studios left. So not only did Tommy supposedly worked hand in hand with a guy who reportedly did not like Metroid, not only did he work with him LONGER than the total development period for the whole game, MIYAMOTO DIDN'T EVEN THINK HIS SOUND EFFECTS WERE GOOD ENOUGH. I'm dying, I can't with this.
HIS MOTHER MAY BE PROUD, BUT MIYAMOTO DEFINITELY WASNT
He did this time-twisting shit a lot when promoting the Intellivision Amico. Every time he talked of Intellivision of the early 80's, he always says "we" like he was with the company originally. Intellivision wasn't even a company back then- it was the product made by Mattel. Tommy was pretending he was involved when he was 10-11 years old.

It was absolutely his first time hearing it
At the end of the day, the saddest part of all this is that Tommy could have really had the prestige and reputation he pretends he already has. He has done considerable amounts of work for the video game industry. He organizes concerts. If he had been honest about his accolades and respected the other people who have also done work instead of taking the credit, he could actually be an industry icon.
He *could have* been the guy who people look up to, as a musician and creator who respects the work of others he's had ties to. Instead, he chose to lie about connections that don't exist, connections that were much smaller than he claimed.
He does have a profile. But instead of being the video game giant he wants you to believe, he'll only be known as a fraudster and a criminal. If he had handled the Amico and the oof sound situations better, maybe none of this stuff would have been needed to be known in the first place. He could have been a reasonable guy, a real "veritable industry icon", but he chose to lie and swindle, and attack for money.
He "organizes" concerts. He mimes to a backing track and pretends to be a rockstar rockabilly. He doesn't have any real accolades to speak of because prior work kicks his claims from Socal to Toledo.
Isn't that something. Even less going for him than I thought. I think it'd be fine for him to act that way during a performance, but if he's not really playing?

It would be really interesting if Miyamoto and Tommy had a lot of deep, meaningful interactions during the development of Metroid Prime, especially since Miyamoto doesn’t really speak English at all, and Tommy doesn’t seem to speak Japanese.
Tommy actually composed his English into music in such a way it became a universal language or something.
Tommy just kept assuming they were deep and meaningful when really Miyamoto was saying: “When will you go away, dumb American.” And similar words to that effect.
They had a Disney’s Pocahontas style epiphany and could suddenly understand each other perfectly, you just don’t get how good at sound design Tommy is

A few days ago, it was discovered that Tommy Tallarico's work on Sonic and the Black Knight is 100% stolen. He’s namely credited for the songs, "The Cauldron," which is a rearrangement of the 10th track in the ost for the PC game, Adrenix, "Molten Mine," which is a rearrangement of the song "Action Theme" from the ost for the PS1/SEGA Saturn game, Black Dawn, and "Great Megalith," which is a rearrangement of the 6th track in the ost for the same game. All three of these songs were composed by Todd Dennis, who worked at Tommy Tallarico studios when composing for those games. Tommy was credited as the composer for all three of these songs, with the arrangements coming from Sonic Team veteran, Jun Senoue. Tommy Tallarico had no part in creating any of the music for Sonic and the Black Knight. His studio owns the music that was arranged into these three songs, so thankfully it’s not an instance of plagiarism, but it's another example of Tommy Tallarico claiming credit for something he didn't do.
He didn't just claim to be the first American to work on Sonic despite only working on Black Knight, he claimed this despite never working on Black Knight, or any Sonic game, at all.
