I sure hope Kingroon can sort this printer out. I've been wanting a small enclosed printer for doing ABS, ASA, and Nylon. My 2 Kingroon KP3's have been giving me great results for over a year so I know Kingroon is capable of making a good printer.
You and me both!
Build a Voron 0.2 lil baby can pump out great stuff.
@@loktar00 voron 0 is way smaller and more expensive
I got mine in 3 weeks ago, it had lots of damage to frame bent, acrylic panels cracked, belts weren't connected, I sent Kingoon pics of all the damage, the replied with 24 hrs and said to keep the printer for spare parts, and promised to send a new upgraded version with screen, all-metal hotend, and better packaging around end of June. We'll see, I still have hopes.
I'm glad they are trying to make it right. Good luck, let us know how it goes.
Did you get the replacement printer?
@@ThrashyB I got a bunch of parts, but haven't fixed it up yet.
@@ChrisRiley cool good to know they actually came through.. Im thinkin of going for it at this price lol but ive heard nothing great so far.. thanks for the response tho!!
Still the best "please wait" music on UA-cam!

Hello from History ✌🏻
I’m having trouble with my z axis going home; it likes to party and doesn’t wanna go home. When it reaches the very top it starts jumping up and down 😂 but seriously, it’s like its stuck on something and it doesn’t work. I haven’t printed anything out yet as I’m worried it’s gonna mess itself up like a child. So far no luck online for fixes. Any useful tips? Thanks in advance.
Sounds like there might be an issue with the Z endstop switch. Make sure it's connected and is in the right position for the bed to trigger it.
any plans for a new live stream?
We have some more Trident builds coming up, starting this Saturday!
Is this the original or the upgraded "v2" version?
This is the original.
@@ChrisRiley OK, good to know. I just purchased the v2 a couple days ago. Waiting for it to get here.
hi, great video....is it real good machine or just a bambu killer price ? thanks chris
Mine stopped working after only 12 hours, board failed. Waiting on a replacement.
sorry
Do you think it would be possible to get that bed mesh code working on my printer? is it open source? I kinda need that, once you see it, you just have to have it.
also that top lid animatronic feature was genius!
LOL, that was fun. Yeah, pretty much any firmware has this feature now. Most printers can be upgraded to get the bed leveling working.
@@ChrisRiley Oh, I have run bed mesh for my printers, but I want THIS bed mesh code.... Mine has never made me laugh.. This on the other hand is comedy gold.
Thanks for the video! This is a completely different experience to the review made by My Tech Fun. His KLP 1 came with a screen and the quality out of the box was at least decent. On the other hand, he published his video only about a week ago, so I wonder if Kingroon has been ironing out the quirks.
Hopefully they're working to make it much better.
They seem to be. Received my KLP1 Gen 2 five days ago and it's been ok. With the default Cura profile it ships with, 350mm/s is out of the question if you want a good print. I've dropped mine down to 175mm/s and it prints really well. I'm sure with some tweaking and tuning for a particular filament I can get that speed up.
Would the instructions be online or on their web site ?
Yes they are available. kingroon.com/blogs/downloads/kingroon-klp1-3d-printer-assembly-guide
it is good that there is auto mess bed compensation on it, so that it can compensate for how much the plate is crooked. maybe they should have built the machine so that it didn't have to compensate for poor assembly
If we only had a probe to correct that too.
Fingers crossed with these cheaper CoreXYs, we shall witness the death throes of the bed slinger! 😄
Bed flinders have their place but more options are always welcome
Nooooo, they are here forever. 😀
CoreXY is nice, but I think a revamped ender 5 platform would cover most people’s needs & be easier to upgrade than bed slingers.
Pretty sure the entire point of the bed knobs is to level the bed, not sure why their interface doesn’t have tramming though.
¯\_(ツ)_/¯
Did you ever get good prints?
Still working on it.
They've had a number of issues with damage in shipment on these devices so far. hopefully they rectify it going forward.
👍🙂
I skimmed this admittedly. Printing in PLA tells the potential consumers of this printer nothing. You buy an enclosed printer because you have moved beyond PLA to high temp engineering materials like ABS, ASA, PETG or similar. Thank you for not printing in white, the sample print color of morons. ;-) Look forward to a follow-on video. It's a tempting price for certain and the little KP3S is awesome for what it is. Could be a real winner here. I do enjoy your channel from time to time. You are a reliable source. Unscripted content like this is best. Liked.
Thank you! They actually shipped me a bunch of parts. I will be doing a video on it soon.
PLA is easy to print. ABS is harder. It cannot do PLA well. Given that current status there is no need to try out harder to print materials and tells anyone exactly what they need, whether they print PLA, ABS or PETG.
This particular device tested could still be a bad sample, but given its cost of less than $400, and with all those specs, this has compromise written all over. And not a good compromise.
Kingroon products need to be dismounted and remounted with precision and knowledge. After that they give you good results.
I have been obliged to do with my KP3S Pro S1, it wasn't able to print out of the box.
After fine tuning now it's a small jewel.
Good to know! I'm glad you got it going
I have one here and a lot of trouble with it. Many others as well.
That's too bad.
If you put boxes on their side and cut the tape on the bottom & the top, just unfold the bottom flaps and turn the box the right way up, you can then just slide the box off. You're welcome and so is your back :)
Thanks!
@@ChrisRiley I only say coz i worked in warehousing for 10 years and watching folks struggle with boxes hurts my OCD.. :)
🙂👍
Just on the "12 minute Benchy from the Mk4", please consider not using it as a comparison again in the future. It's not a regular #speedboatrace rules Benchy and Prusa knew exactly what they were doing when they released it. Their regular Benchy file is 27 minutes which is still fast, but doesn't sound quite so good when compared to what some of the competition in the same price bracket can do.
This is mostly unrelated to the KLP1 of course as the Benchy from that looked like trash (although I'd be fascinated to see if it can do any better with a bit of manual bed levelling).
That's correct, this is not a full tilt benchy, check out the new firmware release. :) github.com/prusa3d/Prusa-Firmware-Buddy/releases/tag/v5.0.0-alpha1
Here's the run of a true benchy:
ua-cam.com/users/shortssz4Ji63VOMU
27 minute benchy isn’t that fast. My sv06+ did a 33 minute strict speed benchy rules at only 3.5k acceleration and it was very clean. Could push it faster but that was good enough.
@@joescalon541 Awesome.
Seems to be the new normal is for the cheaper printer companies to do the beta testing in their 1st release. Not cool. If they can get this right could become a nice bargain coreXY machine. Thats a big if though.
Yeah, it's too bad. Thanks for watching!
Bambu is the new Prusa it seems .. maybe that's when you know you've made it as a company, when its attack of the clones
Ha ha, could be, good point.
No, it is.
Thanks for showing us, it's a no thanks for me !
Thanks for the view
That bed, whew I was annoyed the first time I saw it leaning in one direction. Terrible...dont trust single leadscrew z beds. Built a custom Core XY machine with 3 independent Zs...never looking back.
It's pretty disappointing for sure.
I build a custom Core XY with a single Z screw. Been rock solid for over 5 years now.
Please calibrate the platform well first!
thanks
that machine is horribly setup or made. There is NO WAY that the Z Axis should move that much!
It's pretty bad.
@@ChrisRiley
Is it just 5e bed supports sagging or are the guides offset?
@@buzzbbird looks to be just bed sagging
So, this was as complete waste of time, correct? This "printer" is a complete disaster, correct?
@@ChrisRiley Watching you grimace for two hours, and not say an un-nice word was HERCULEAN!
Nobody can setup and tune a Klipper machine in 2 hours. Something for nothing? I don't think so. Look forward to a follow on video.
@@CraftedChannel Chris can.
@@corlissmedia2.0 Well, he didn't and also he didn't make the claim. " Openings through first print" are not intended to be through reviews of capabilities. Simply what a new buyer might find in the box and the issues they may encounter through the first print.
A printer that only works through a network. Total fail.
¯\_(ツ)_/¯
??? This is standard in the Voron world where the average skill level is very high.
