Eurovision is my passion. Eurovision was my work and I am still gladly part of the professional community of this project. I started at Eurovision 2016 as Czech Head of Delegation. Such a Eurovision story! Form Eurovision in Sweden I went to antoher ESC experience. Kiiv 2017 Eurovision. This was my first and last failiur. Sometimes you need to learn trough losing even it is not plasant. We ended up 13 in the semifinal, second best score of Eurovision Czechia back then. But after this we established ESCZ national selection format. It was mostly held online. Because of this we found Mikolas Josef who went 6th at Eurovision 2018 in Portugal. Than 11th with Lake Malawi, at Eurovision 2019 in Tel Aviv, Israel.
Eurovision story is crazy. After finding all candidates and songs (-1) for ESCZ 2020 I resigned and left the television for working freelance.
Not to stop being part of Eurovision, I created this channel as I have an urge not to do just Eurovision Reactions from a different perspective. But also to do national selection reactions, watch others how they do their craft and also give a different approach for Eurovision fans.
I am very glad was part of many eurovision juries. Mostly in national selection and since 2017 I was in MGP Norway, Eurovision Malta, UMK national selection Finland. Juror in Melodifestivalen 2016. Biggest national selection. Also helped Eurovision Ireland, Eurovision Estonia, Eurovision Azerbaijan and many others.
Just amazing to be part of this community, so check my Humans of Eurovision, check my Eurovision reaction videos.

I totally agree with you. Singing should be a basic requirement, considering this is a song contest and its credibility will be affected, otherwise. Sadly, it seems like we're part of the minority and many people are okay with this resurgence of joke entries, and so are the delegations of certain countries for allowing this type of entries in their selection process

One of the main reasons I loved Eurovision so much for many years is the fact that the vocals were live. So I am dissapointed about what's happening.
I wish they would go back to ALL live vocals (lead and backings) It would be even more amazing if there were also facilities to make live instruments on stage possible. Nice video once again, Jan 😄

thx! I think we are so keen to strip on budgets, that we suffer quality and we are constantly lowering our standards across industries to try saving it only visually... which cost money 😂

TBH still I watch ESC every year mainly for music, not for controversies or show. And this year I'm happy that something actually good has won. However, sometimes I feel I'm watching the same contest every year, especially when I can see the 2,138-th iteration of Eleni Foureira vibe or so. At this point I miss old good ESC contests, where juries decided the winners, where was orchestra, and the stage was one-size-fits-all with modest amount of effects, forcing the artists to make the show with their own voices or choreography.

Ì heartly disagree that what's important is that the show be fun I hope Eurovision won't be reduced to a joke. Eurovision is not a comic, it's a tv show based on the song contest format and the quality of the musical aspects is what makes its character imo. And yes, music is part of the entertainment industry and it s undeniable that comics, fun elements are entertaining in a certain context, but not here. The idea behind Eurovision was to connect people of different European countries through music by the creation of a song contest like the Italian Sanremo Festival and nobody would even dream of taking part in Sanremo not being at the best of their ability, just for fun, because it's a comperition, every contestant is under the spotlight, judged by both the jurys but also the audience and the music industry in general and what they do and how they do it leaves a mark for their career. There have been darker years in Sanremo festival too, when all tv shows were in playback and among contestants only few were really good and having a serious career, fortunately nowadays everything is back to 100% live even though the effort to have a live orchestra is huge which I honestly don t think is realistic for Eurovision but the singing is the soul of a song contest, its quality is essential to the credibility of the show or it will become just a circus clownesque representation. IMO.

Esc should be a music temple. Participants must be vocally good, there is no room for decay, ofc. But there are more important things and that is the artist has to grab you right away and the song has to be a HIT. So then when the winner of esc is introduced, people can say: "look, what a cool dude or cool chick". 👍👍👍.
Then they have to have a cool look, there is no artist who gets by by being ugly. Just look at the Swiss guy. He won, but he was ugly as hell and no one cares about him already 1 month after the final even though he was vocally good

idk if ugly, I dont care about this, charisma is important, and skills... or at least should.

@@JanBors At least you shouldn't put on a fakkin dress. Look at the swiss guy, he thought he can put on a dress and conquer Europe... "Oh look, I'm wearing a dress, now I'm the real deal". LOL. 😆🙈

there were a lot of good vocalists this year. But the songs were unmemorable, the performance was funny and actually in some situations on the border of basic culture. It is not ok to turn Eurovision into a holiday of only one group, even if they are the best vocalists in the world. Too many participating countries are leaving. Some boundaries must be set. No one is talking about the quality of the vocals of those participants, but about the scene or what they are talking about, who they represent, how to address them, and the like. As for the Eurovision winner, the winner is the one whose song survives for a year with equal audience attention, equal recognition and story. A winner whose song no one listens to is not ok, a winner whose song no one sings is not ok. A performer can have the best vocalist in the world and a bad song. How to solve it. This topic should be repeated in January 2025, when it will be clearer what happened to the songs.

yep, this basically count for every single artist this year and as you say, maybe would be nice to focus back to music, than if the quality of artists is determined by their specific support or belonging to some minor group. As those were the headlines everywhere, non about songs or song. And we see the streaming this year is very poor. No song rly stood out and stand out.

well, it's football and vacation time. Things will crystallize later. My personal opinion is that I'm tired of the negative things at Eurovision, manipulation, arguments, fights, insults, threats, etc., etc. If I were 20 years old and this was my first meeting with Eurovision, I believe that I would never follow again. I just want a song that I will enjoy and that I will say about in 5 or 10 years, that I remember when I was the first time listened to ,, and that song must be known to all Eurovision fans. I want to hear a song. For now, apart from my favorite, I can only hear the French song, which is sung in all the languages of the world, from small children to adults. And that really surprised me. That's why I think we should wait for January 2025 and repeat this topic.
