Starlet gets its new turbo engine

We did it, the starlet finally has an engine.
To achieve the goal of fitting the engine into the car, i had some jobs to complete first, in the form of a flywheel, clutch and gearbox to all be mated together (for the first time)
But we achieved our goal and the new, freshly built 4efte in its home.
I have had a vison about this day since taking out the original 2ee engine years ago and i am stoked to have gotten this far. I had some friends over to help out, have a laugh and talk shite, and we did all that.
What do you guys think of how the bay looks?

Thanks man, so cool to see it in place. The gearbox is actually from the original 1.3 2ee engine that came in the car, but I’d imagine they are probably the same thing !

Hey man, he’s firstly doing a health check on my gt loom , which isn’t going great 😅 then he’s going to take the connectors from my ep80 loom that I still need and put them into the ep82 loom to allow my standard engine bay and dash loom except the turbo engine loom and ecu ✌️

@@joeygt6794 man I was hoping u say something like this . I was baffled if you could do that or not . So in this case u won't have get gt clocks or anything . Is he pricey or reasonably cheap enough ? Thinking about getting standard shell and throwing in gt engine . Be nice to buy the real deal but be nice to win the lotto to 😄

Well in my simple brain it will work 😅. It’s not been tested yet but we are still working together to get it figured out. I’m not sure of the cost yet but we are working on that also. Mine will be the tester to see if it’s possible to swap everything over and if the car will then run, but we are getting close. I’m looking forward to figuring it out and sharing with you all ✌️

Are you leaving the top mount intercooler or are you going front mount?

Are the engine mounting points in the same place for the turbo and non turbo engine

Yeah they are the same. The 2e drivers side engine mount is different alright so I had to pick up a 4e mount.
