    How long should I enjoy this rig as-is before working on interior updates?

    Hello, I'm Ken.
    I was the owner of this camper when it was in Japan.
    I'm very happy to see it in action overseas, far away from Japan.
    I've owned it for about 24 years and have always maintained the engine and other parts to make it last longer.
    Is the engine running well? A special device called "JVSC" is attached to the muffler end, which improves fuel efficiency and increases power.
    An expensive special magnesium magnet is attached to the engine's fuel pipe to improve fuel efficiency and power.
    Rotating vanes are installed in the turbine intake manifold to improve turbine efficiency.
    As a result, it has better fuel efficiency and more power than a normal engine vehicle.
    It is an old bus, but please rest assured that it has been inspected and maintained at a factory that maintains commercial buses.
    The tires are designed to be able to run on light snow.
    I'll be watching the buscon's future activities from Japan.
    やまバス、いままでありがとう。
    1HD-Tよ、異国の地でも力強く!
    新しいオーナーさんに大切にしてもらえる事を願っています。

      I'd love to see more in the states! My guess is the Australia has a few of the lifted 4x4 units also, an even better RV setup.

    I'm actually planning to import a Japanese camper, for now however; I will be building out a cargo trailer, ill be saving up after to import either a bus or a smaller Japanese motorhome, i just like the design more. Compared to what is found in the US.

    How does it do on the highway? I'm looking for a T1N Sprinter for a long range family hauler... but kinda want one of these if I can find one. They're not too common in the US.

    • @savvysprocket
      @savvysprocket  18 днів тому

      With the stock rear differential your RPMs are a bit high on the highway. It will do it and keep speed however you won't get the best MPG. You can get a different gear setup installed which will really help if you plan to take the highway often.

    Beautiful!
    What kind of mpg do you get??
    Thanks Nicky.

    • @savvysprocket
      @savvysprocket  Рік тому +2

      I am getting about 15MPG at the moment however once I swap the rear differential I should be able to get about 20MPG.

    Wow, how much did it cost all

    • @savvysprocket
      @savvysprocket  Рік тому

      It wasn't bad. About 1/4 the cost of a built Sprinter.

    There is also the possibility that there is a door opening button under the body near the door.

    How long does it take to coast up to 60mph (100kph?)? And how comfortable is it coasting at 65-70mph? Fuel economy?

    • @savvysprocket
      @savvysprocket  11 місяців тому +1

      Thanks for checking out the video. I honestly have not had a ton of seat time in the bus to have fully clear answers here yet. With the current gearing it is much happier at city speeds compared to highway speeds. My plan is to adjust the gearing in the differential to bring down engine RPMs at highway speeds. Once that project is complete MPG should be at around 20mpg. Stay tuned for videos on this gearing project and future updates.

      @@savvysprocket change the heat ratio! Great idea! Everything I read online basically said they don't like to go faster than 55-60 mph, so that would really help. But I also saw that full throttle it takes forever to get to 60 mph. Changing the gear ratio will obviously make that worse. Touchy subject!

      @@asdfgoogle that would be the non turbo model taking a while to get up to speed. This turbo model has much more torque and power and cruise really easy.

    Nice videos. Just subbed. One thing though & this is just a friendly criticism. Is there any chance you could work on dropping the dozen and dozens of times you say Umm & Ermm per video. Not trying to be an arse hat its just an opinion & you know wot they say about them & Bum holes. . Great videos & am looking forward to the next shop update 👍
