Woo! So excited to see y'all brought the duo for the sequel. Phantom battery was incredible in the lot and their show was the clear fan favorite when I saw them at San Antonio. Congrats on an amazing season!
Honestly that quad break is probably the most fun quad break to play this season. So many different skill sets. So much groove. It feels so nice to play and it is so tasty. Definitely the most fun quad break this year
Phantom's show this year overall is my favorite show since SCV '18, which is fitting considering some of the current brass staff overlap between those two groups (that visceral mello sound always gets me). The front and battery book compliment the whole corps incredibly well, and they really nailed the staging for the featured moments. It felt like a modern take on a mid-2000's/early 2010's show.
I was shocked to realize I wasn't subbed to this channel. guess I watched so many lot vids in the last couple years (later in life after aging out in '99 and not paying attention for a long time) the algo' is just naturally drenched with your vids. love them and have been binging! I have a gentle suggestion that only came to mind with seeing this one with 2 guests. there's a lot of wasted screen real-estate with this kind of layout. I bet there's a way in OBS (or whatever you use) to crop the webcam feeds into squares which would add up to us seeing way more of the drumming
Thanks for the sub, and the suggestion! We’re definitely not the most sophisticated channel when it comes to tech. But always trying to make improvements.
PR to me had the best Drum Corps product of the summer. Obviously didn't win the whole kit and caboodle but this to me felt like the drum corps that I watched in the 00s and that's why I enjoyed it so much.
@@agedoutpodcast Always! Matty P. came to my former home high school last year and THREW DOWN! He's a great dude and this interview really showcased these good friends' percussive prowess both on and off the field! 💪😎
Always a great sign when the battery arranger is surrounded by other instruments.
“Egg Roll” is the *perfect* name for that rudiment! 😂

One of my favorite shows from this last season ❤

Fun fact: the quads called that an Egg Roll all season 😂
36:31 We’d actually been calling it an egg roll all summer, funny that y’all decided on the same name as us
Hahah great mynds think alike!
Loved this ! I know it might be hard for them to do this but I’d love to hear a sit down with Mike Jackson and Kevin Shah
"probably, honestly, pretty, incredibly efficient" 😂😂😂

Best show on the field in years!

Good one to start on. I love this part of the year!

Agreed.
Really good episode guys, enjoyed hearing all the insights!
I cant hear that opener without that screamer man. So impactful
Hope to see Mike Jackson and Carolina Crown for the post-season debrief!
I spent a winter at Ft McCoy and Spotted Cow was THE talk at the bars 😂😂

goddamn i love his writing. it's like a Rennick book with the one thing i felt like they lacked: messed up rhythms that take a while to transcribe
Y’all should try to get Paul on the podcast
We have tried, lol. Busy person, no doubt.

They just found them at a store and thought it would be funny if they all wore them.

How far did Tyler go when it came to his highschool all region band days ? Did he ever become an all stater or an area player ?
for the record, I thought a second chance was good. even though we all made fun of it for being a show about crap.
