They did a flyover the Indy 500 one year and left 300,000 race fans deafened, and it was the most pleasurable pain I have ever had. They flew over in the missing man formation, then one broke off and circled back over the track. He went into a hover and drifted over the track, stopped in midair, then pivoted and began forward flight like a boss. You felt it rumble your chest more that heard it. It was a religious experience for an aviation buff. And I served four years on the USS Theodore Roosevelt so I know what loud is. The Harrier II made a Tomcat sound tame. And that's no small feat.
Yeah I agree with that. I remember shopping at the Glades in Bromley as a kid with the Biggin Hill airshow being held that weekend. It was a sound like no other.

I love model building but, it costs to much to do anymore! My favorite model to put together was the F-14 Tomcat and the USS Enterprise! 😊 I love this channel too because, I am not able to play so, I get my plane fix by watching good pilots flying good airplanes! 😂
I think the carrier groups are also vulnerable to nuclear attacks. Large coverage. Away from civilians. Low risk of long term fallout contamination. Like the expected tactic of high altitude air burst blasts to take out bomber groups or reentry vehicles. Wouldn’t mind seeing that approach tested.
If I recall, there are some counter ballistic missiles that use a small yield nuclear bomb giving it about 1 mile of proximity radius for terminal reentry defense
I finally downloaded DCS shot down my first heli in training with keyboard and mouse. I'm learning but I need a controller bad. This is the most difficult thing to play with a keyboard. Im on my journey to become a Grim Reaper.

Final run of this should be trying B-1Rs to see if they can either reach the bombers in time (especially now that they have a flight model and a human can control target deconfliction) or if they can’t get to bombers before the launch. And for the love of God Cap, shift the AWACS towards the REDFOR bombers instead of orbiting over Guam/home base. That’s much more realistic than nukes from starfighters at this point 😂
it might be come a stability issue. Keep in mind that fighter aircrafts are pushed (engine nozzle at the end) rather than pulled. Imagine a bicycle which you try to push backwards: much more instable than if you push it forward. That instability (to my knowledge) was one reason why the F-103S required additional tail fins. At very high speeds very little imbalances can become significant. E.g. the arrestor hook of the F-104 is not on centerline. Pilots had to use some trim to compensate at high speeds.
Nicely Done Cap. Of some concern would have been the EMP off of the limited nukes, Don't know about it personally. Nailing the Swans only seems possible if a Carrier Wing from the flank could deploy, or a "Hypersonic, air to air Nuke" >1200 Tons. Thanks for the hours of production...
My dad was in Vietnam as a Scout/Sniper and one of the first missions he went on, was to rescue a downed 104 pilot and to destroy the remains of the jet.
Sorry Cap, the original 'Widowmaker' was the Martin B-26 Marauder, not the Starfighter, the B-26 being a twin engined medium bomber from WWII. A name it never really deserved once the crews got used to it and the design had some updates from the earlier models teething issues, it went on to be a very successful and well liked bomber by its crews.
Imagine flying across the world in a loose formation, no technical issues with any aircraft or missiles, launching a vast strike of cruise missiles which would challenge any modern air defence... Going home and just seeing news reports of nuclear flashes in the sea a hundred miles out, fishermen told to steer clear for a week or so, and nothing else. Who would win, vast saturation assault or four 1960s boys with very big missiles? Its such a blunt solution but its great.
I have always wondered if modern Air defense ships would keep one spicy AA missile in their rack, just in case the fleet was engaged with a swarm of anti-ship missiles, they knew would overwhelm them. Then launch the nuclear missile in the middle of the swarm.
TBH the USAF probably still has nuclear-tipped missiles in its arsenal but won't disclose their existence. Most likely the AB DDs in the carrier strike group carry a few for the last line of defense against huge swarms of missiles. They are just too effective to not use.

Low altitude nukes dont put out EMPs. The EMP effect comes from extremely high altitude detonations (for further info, research Starfish Prime) the nuke doesnt cause the emp itself, but the high altitude detonation creates highly charged particles in the upper atmosphere that propogate towards the ground effecting things like high tension power lines.

I would love if you could do a modern Swarm Attack on Guam just like this. I know that the Guam Defenses have changed as of recently so that is why I ask. They have received and set-up 6 New Thaad systems. I have never seen the Thaad in DCS so I don't know if you have access to it or not, but if not maybe you can just put in the equivalent in Patriot systems.
No thaad in dcs also thaad is for killing ballistic weapons not swarms it can’t kill planes or drones or cruise missiles. Its the top level of a multi tiered system but that doesn’t mean it can do the job of lower altitude covering systems. So replacing thaad with patriot is a bad idea.

That sounds incredible irresponsible! lol I googled the difference between a rocket and missile, and it would seem the only difference really is whether or not it's being guided unless it's being used to go to space and then it's a rocket again. Hold up there's such a thing as a Nuclear Rocket? Meaning, a Nuclear Warhead is being propelled by an unguided rocket? That sounds incredible irresponsible! lol I googled the difference between a rocket and missile, and it would seem the only difference really is whether or not it's being guided unless it's being used to go to space and then it's a rocket again. Which is really confusing to say the least.
