When Zeref gets mad it’s truly one of the intimidating things in the series. Like the way his eyes completely change color from black to a blood red. He’s the legendary black wizard for a reason. I just love his character sm even after well us viewers know lol.
I find it fun that the scarf thing isn't only a plot point, but apears twice in this episode. Becouse what happened to Natzus scarf, is also what happened to Ultears globe when it "absorbed" Zerefs death magic
Not only does Mira consumes a lot of Magic Power with Takeover, she also doesn't have as much capacity as Erza (cause she didn't improved at the same pace as Erza because of her hiatus). Also, it is given that her weakness is her siblings. Once she knew her siblings is in danger, she couldn't focus because her attention will always go back to her siblings. (Even if the siblings also gives her strength to fight)
Yeah... if Mira hadn't lost her will to fight, she would be a match to Erza in the present. We have seen that the two's relationship used to mirror the one that Gray and Natsu have. Even Laxus used to be a little intimidated by her. But her siblings are really her weak point, since she will do anything for them. After all, she is the oldest and she feels they are her responsability, being ready to sacrifice anything for them.

She wouldn't mind using her full power cause she wouldn't worry about anyone. The same obviously goes to her siblings. If none of her siblings are around, she'll go all out.
I really adore how fairytail portrays the relationship between dark guilds and Zeref, because the reality is that Zeref doesn't want to hurt anyone, but the dark guilds have all twisted his persona into some fucked up god they can worship

Keep in mind this is a man who randomly kills everything around him even though he clearly doesn't want to. Can you think of a reason why he would be on a supposedly uninhabited island? I can think of one other reason why he would be on this island but I don't know if the author thought of it at the time or if Zeref himself was aware of it. Just a reminder but when they established Ultear's magic she stated she couldn't use it on living things, which is why they had to go through that whole ritual to melt the living ice that encased Deliora. She can't bring the dead back to life, which is something Zeref would need. 15:22 They said he and the guys from the Thunder Legion left the island after the first round. I'm not quite sure where they went.

It's not like Ultear's magic doesn't work on living things. It's just that her magic doesn't work on sentient beings. She can still send a seedling foward in time and turn it into a full grown tree (like she did in this episode) or do the reverse. However, when it comes to living beings with a mind and feelings of their own, that's where her Arc of Time doesn't work. She would be able to save the vegetation Zeref's killed, but never the animals or the people.
@rafaelmatos5851 It's actually specifically said it doesn't work on living things. Seeds aren't living. Once they become trees they are. So she could use it on the seeds, but once they became trees she can't affect them anymore.
Me too... they have the most awesome sibling dynamic in all of Fairy Tail. Mira is the oldest sibling that wants to take care of her younger siblings the best she can, even if that means being at her own expense; Elfman desires nothing but to be strong enough protect his sisters from any danger, but he is the first to acknowledge how "manly" they really are; and Lisanna simply wants to repay her siblings' dedication to her by becoming strong enough to protect them in return. It was so hard to watch the impact that Lisanna's apparent death had on Mira and Elfman, with the former losing her will to fight and the latter becoming so engulfed in guilt.
Mira was holding back here mainly because she was running low on power here but if she was at full strength she’d destroy that guy. She holds back a lot but you’ll see what I mean in the future
ultear saying dont dare to underastimate the power of the 7 kin understandable.. but the fact she know's who stand in front of her and still saying it is the worst crime of the episode
To be fair... Zeref is not even using a fraction of his real power. At this point, he is still pretty much a husk of what he used to be. He is struggling between avoiding conflict or using conflict to end it.

Ultear's objective in all this is quite... complex... and actually pretty f**ked up once you get to know her past and her reasons for... well, basically, everything bad she ever did. It is also connected to Grimoire Heart's ultimate plan, being why she joined them. But believe me when I say that Ultear will make you cry... and I am not saying this because of her name.
I believe their goal is to create a world where non-magic users perish and dark magic users thrive. I can't wait to see your reaction to more of this arc 🤩
Grimoire Heart believes that magic came from darkness and that, by bringing it to the light, it turned it into a husk of what it used to be. So their objective is to "awake" Zeref, believing he is the key to create a world where only those who can use magic can survive. However, since around 90% of the population around the world is incapable of using magic, their objective is basically a genocide.
Zamber, I find it funny how you see Zeref as someone worthy of hugging when he literally created demons such as Lullaby (that can kill people with its music) and Deliora (that killed Gray's parents and is responsible for his teacher's death). Although I do admit that Zeref is a character worthy of pity once you get to know his full story. That poor guy is the very definition of contradiction... You want to hate him, but you simply can't exactly do it.
Mira at full strength could’ve definitely taken Asuma. One important thing to remember is that for many years Mira hasnt exercised her full magic power. (Unlike Erza for example.) This is a detail that is easy to overlook but I like it in the sense that it makes the case that using magic is like exercising a muscle if you dont use it for a long time it takes awhile to rebuild that strength.
Is this episode kinda weirdly drawn or is it just me? Anyway, i never knew how to feel about Zeref, like, look at him, he's so baby face, innocent, troubled guy who's just there existing in misery trying to not hurt anyone with a power he can't control, but knows there are people wanting this power to hurt others that is exactly what he doesn't want.... oh my, poor guy. But at the same time... Zeref, the dark wizard that created demons like Deliora and the Lullaby and who knows how many others and all that is said about him seems the exact opposite of what he seems to be here and... aaahhh he's just too confusing for my heart. I really like the complexity of this character, to this day i'm still not sure what i feel, maybe its just pity.
