This man Azuma really went "show me the power of friendship now lol" to Erza and put the entire guild's life on the line lmao.
He just pulled a larger scale hostage tactic to Erza.
Like he did to Mira, taking Lisanna as a hostage to force her to fight him.
Each of Cana's failures on the S-class wizard trial was because she was bested by four of the five S-class wizards as when the series started. First she lost to Laxus, then to Erza, then to Mirajane and finally to Mystogan. Considering that this is Cana's fifth time, she failed to classify for the trial before the current one (which resulted in none of the wizards to be promoted), most likely even deepening her frustration. It's so sad that she perceived Gildarts as someone so far of reach to her that she thought that she needed to reach the same level as him so she would even dare to tell him who she was.

I never once considered Cana’s dad to be an established character that we’ve seen before and to be Gildarts was definitely crazy. When he got pissed I was like oh it’s on 💀
Yeah, rusty rose signed his beat up warrant when he harmed guild members but he signed his DEATH warrant when he harmed a member of the thunder legion. Then signed his oblivion warrant when he insulted laxus.

One of the only things about the dub is in episode 112- at around 9:52 in the video, when Cana gets Fairy Glitter- its missing a line. In the sub, you can hear the voice of Master Mavis tell respond to Cana- "Then you have nothing to fear" as they give her Fairy Glitter.
As much as I love the dub, its a little sad that its missing this line. Cana is so regretful about leaving her friends, shes so torn on what to do about staying in the guild and dealing with Gildarts- but above all she treasures her friends.
And this is why Mavis gives her Fairy Glitter.
"Then you have nothing to fear."
If you wish for the power to protect your friends then I shall give it to you- because that is the most important part of this guild, whether you are a member or not.

after this episode i started calling him daddy Gildarts as a joke but i stopped when my mom said he's tottally in her anime crush list.

I love that the funny quirks of each guild member has actual reasoning behind it. Gray's habit of losing clothes because of his masters training, Loki's flirting to distract from Karen, Cana's heavy drinking because her father is never around and can't get S class. Even the magic they have has reasons behind them. Watching the 2nd episode of their introductions hit different the more you watch the show 😢😂
Cana is a lot like lucy in that her main magic (card magic) is more so focused on versatility rather than raw power... but she does have an insane amount of raw magic power to pull from just naturally... enough to use fairy glitter.
I completely agree about Laxus, and I feel so validated that someone else thinks it's a *little* silly that they're essentially overlooking his attempted murder of ~10,000 innocent people. 🤣
Zamber i can’t wait until you reach this arc’s final episode also there’s a rather (canon) sad episode next arc that will shatter you
Cana's latest power is very high, given she's Gildarts daughter as well, it's just that she's limited by her magic type. Like If I remember correctly even if you have a spell that's not enough to cast it, you need the magic capacity to be able to use it. It just that Bluenote is extremely powerful.
I really love how they wrote Azuma honestly. His character could've completely flattened the entire guild no problem with his power, but by writing him as a character with a certain integrity an obsession with fighting they were able to set up a realistic way for the guild to get out of the whole trap with the Tenrou Tree, AND set up a super high stakes fight for Erza
I should have guessed Gildarts would fight Bluenote when he got into a fight with Kana. I knew Gildarts was Kana's father and that he was coming back but it had been so long since I watched this arc I had forgotten most of the match-ups. I can only remember three of the Seven Kin, the goat and the girls, plus the Master.
Btw, I think Fairy Glitter is a single target attack unlike Fairy Law who could take multiple targets on a certain area.
But with the explosion sure it could damage enemies around it. As you could see, the ring acted like a rooting ability to make them stay in place and also the "bomb" itself. And believe me it is basically a nuke.
Fairy Glitter is literally a one shot magic attack unlike Fairy Law.
Oh, Zamber, the look of confusion when you watched the little tease to what is coming was actually really good... Don't worry, everything will be explained at the end of this arc... and it will be one great twist, believe me, one that will impact the Fairy Tail guild massively. I was hoping you would recognize that boy, but... I guess we will have to wait.

That moment Gildarts appeared in front of Cana made me hope he actually knows. Especially the face he made. He looked like a Dad who would beat a jerk who hurted his child.
And Cana looked there like "Dad that jerk is trynna kill me!"
Either way I always thought he at least had an idea but he would forget about it every other time because he's always gone out and he wasn't even sure it's true.

Since you're getting fairly close to the end of the Tenrou Island Arc, I should let you know (in case you don't already) that the next arc is another filler arc... and a much longer filler arc than the Daphne one. I suggest doing what you did for the Daphne arc and doing two episodes every week until you finish it.

That is Romeo, Macao's son. He first appeared in episode 2 but doesn't get much screen time so I can understand if you forgot about him.

Also i dont remember him being important in any arcs i'm so lost i'm trying to remember why they showed him in that scene but i cannot remember was that juat a random thing O_o
@@Relicsplace I only recall seeing him twice before now. Once when he was looking for his dad, setting Natsu on the quest to Mt. Hakobe, and once when Macao captured "Natsu" transformed into a lizard.
I do remember why they showed him here but I can't think of any hints I could give without spoiling it off the top of my head, just that it has something to do with how this arc ends.

7:32💔🥺 you know I think it was probably a lot easier for her to just let it go while she was growing up in Fairy Tail because she was young, and she knew that he was always going to come back at some point but being an adult and seeing him from Time time, but him still not knowing, I could see how it could definitely be harder for her to keep that secret. at that point, it would start driving you crazy and it would turn into depression. If you didn’t do something about it like “fucking tell him“ you know.
It’s kind of like that little bit of advice you hear about from time “never waste the chance to tell someone you love them“

Honestly, Cana did not make good, rational choices during this whole thing, but
once her backstory is explained, it makes sense. She's like 6 yrs old when she first comes to Fairy Tail, her mother just passed and she, presumably, has no other family, cause who the hell would let a six yr old wander the country with only her puppy? (Yes, I know this is anime, and underaged children do whatever the hell they want with no adult supervision.) Anyway, she's a little kid, who doesn't know how to tell the man she just met that he's her father and is understandably nervous. And as time goes on, it's understandable that she gets more and more unsure about her place there. Gildarts is THE strongest wizard is Fairy Tail, which is already one of the most prominent guilds in the country. Cana, while definitely no slouch, isn't up to Natsu's level, nor the S-class wizards like Erza, Laxus, and Mira, and Erza admits she doesn't hold a candle to Gildarts. As a child, seeing everyone being so amazing and then her own father, who doesn't know about her, being even above THEM, it makes sense why she'd develop such insecurities, even to the point of being afraid of rejection if Gildarts were to know about her. We, as an audience, know that wouldn't happen, cause we're removed from the situation (also, because it's obvious where the writing is going, but that's beside the point). (It also makes sense why Lucy would understand, probably more than anybody, because of her own family relationships.) It doesn't make what Cana did alright, Lucy could've been seriously injured or even killed because she left her alone, knocked out, in the middle of an enemy attack, but she wasn't thinking clearly. Her insecurity and pain took front and center in her head and she screws up. She acknowledges what she did was wrong and immediately tries to do better. (And Fairy Glitter failed because she'd used so much magic over the course of the exam, plus running around the entire island. There's also the fact that Bluenote is a MONSTER and gravity powers are always OP, combine that with her inexperience with the spell and exhaustion, and you get what happened. It's honestly good writing that Fairy Glitter didn't work.)

At 1st Cana really rubbed me the wrong way because one of my grandparents died from drinking too much. Don't get me wrong I don't hate every character that drinks but I did hate Cana for sending a fictional message that someone could drink as much as they want with no consequences even if the writers were just joking. Then for most of this arc I thought Cana just had a crush on someone she was trying to impress and when she betrayed Lucy I was sure I would never forgive her! But the writers did then impossible they did make me forgive her. She still isn't my favorite but I do like her now.
