I just started my bourbon journey a few months ago. I think blinds like these are an excellent way to develop my palette to different kinds of whiskey and discover what I really like best. Thanks for what you do!
I started a double blind pool maybe 4 years ago, inspired by Josh and Erin’s early structure (if they hadn’t had the nerdy stuff block back then, I must admit, I might not have stuck), and I still keep 12 pairs that I visit maybe weekly. I feel like I owe a lot to my confirmed likes and dislikes and approach to tasting to them….and fighting the FOMO. Singles and doubles are so useful. Enjoy the journey…David
Blind tastings are the best way to truly judge anything without preconceived notions. Nothing but the golden liquid inside the glass to enjoy without prejudice. Thank you both for what you do!
I started my bourbon journey a few months ago. Just got back from my first trip to the holy land of Kentucky and loved every minute. Never done a blind, but look forward to giving it a try. Thanks for sharing your love of bourbon!
I know you guys like to try being professional and approachable, but I also enjoy that you both don't take yourselves too seriously. I very mush appreciated this video. Thank you guys for just being you. It's refreshing.
Blind tastings are literally what got me and my childhood buddies reconnected after we all went our separate ways after college. We started doing them online during COVID as a way to reconnect and since then have done one about once a quarter and have also now taken two trips to Whiskey Country (TN and KY). The blinds were the beginning to all our addictions to bourbon/whisk(e)y.
I love blind tastings for the exact same reason you espouse each Pours Unknown episode... It eliminates label bias and expectations. That is huge. It gives you a *real* preference.
Blinds are so fun! I have my wife set up a 3 pour blind once in a while and there's almost always a surprise outcome. You two are a lot of fun together...thanks!
My wife and I began our whiskey journey years ago doing blind flights and we love them because they are “like a box of chocolates, you ain’t never know what ya gonna get.”
Blinds have become one of my favorite ways to enjoy going through bottles in my collection. Every tasting has been a great deal of fun for both me and my bourbon buddy
I've never done a blind before but definitely want to. I've also been waiting to be able to afford a subscription to Blind Barrels I'd love to discover more whiskeys.
I love blinds because it takes away all the bottle bias. It also helps with training my palate. I bought my own little bottles and set up my own blind tasting samples because of your channel when a couple of years ago. I’m constantly telling people about my setup and trying to rope friends in to try with me.
Blinds make whiskey fun. I enjoy the challenge of picking out flavors and guessing different facts. They also help remove any bias I may have towards certain bottles. Thanks for sharing.
My wife subscribed to Blind Barrels for me over a year ago for Father’s Day and I am on my 5th blind, it gives me time with my son who is starting to get into bourbon, whiskey and it is wild of hearing his tasting notes and we have purchased some that we enjoyed. Great video. Thanks Erin and Josh.
Fun to see y'all doings a Blind Barrel that I actually experienced a few months ago after y'all turned me on to them when you did their December release. Buzzards Roost was my favorite out of the four. Thank you for sharing.
Blinds are the best to figure out what you actually enjoy the most. Takes the mental/visual influence out of the equation seeing the bottle you're sipping.
My group love blind tasting. We started with Blind Barrel. We now have 6 ppl. We changed to each person bringing a bottle in disguise. We didn't even know if what we were tasting was our bottle. We've turned previous haters specific bottles to lovers and rediscovered old forgotten bottle.
I have a friend who is in a group that does exactly what you do, but his group sounds to be way too big and unwieldy for useful blinds. I think your 6, or even maybe 8, sounds awesome!
I like blind tasting because it helps me realize what I truly like better than others. Most of the time I like the lower end ones almost as much as the allocated ones
I began my bourbon journey at the beginning of 2024. I’ve actually looked into these packages for a while, but I have yet to pull the trigger about the only blind tasting I’ve ever actually done was a regular version of a bourbon and a store pick and being the only person in the house That drinks bourbon it is kind of difficult to ask my underage daughter to flip classes surround for me to try. so the set up that this company has would be amazing to try and I think I’m going to give myself a Christmas present this year and get myself a subscription Thank you for showing this to me. Actually searched for somebody that is doing a review on this and you’re the first ones that I have found. I love your content and keep doing it because bourbon is fun. Just some of us don’t have a group or people to enjoy it with and I enjoy it with the people that put out content like you guys do great job and thank you.
Blind tastings are fun because it puts to the test what I hold “true” in my mind. And opens the door for me to find something new and enjoyable without any preconceived notions
Blinds allow you to focus on the whiskey itself. Prefer in groups of 2 to 4 bottles so that can dig into the differences and the nuances across the glasses. Also fascinating to do in groups to hear the different perspectives.
My husband and I love blinds, it has become a game for us where one makes the other guess the bottle. Thank you for what you do, we truly enjoy watching your videos, Erin’s “unique” way of describing the bourbon and whiskey you try is hysterical! 😂 We are thinking about getting a subscription to Blind Barrels for our anniversary present to each other. PS, we LOVE the t-shirts you guys are wearing in the video!
We signed up for a year with code “Erin”, and are extremely happy so far. March was our first flight. I picked #3 and my wife picked #2. I also liked #4, but we just went with the 2 bottles. We also ordered 2 from June’s flight when we did that. Plan on continuing after our year is up. (Exclude from giveaway)
My son-in-law and I set up blind tastings to determine what is truly good and to develop our pallets. Blind Barrels seem to be something we'll like to try.
Love blind tastings because more often than not the element of surprise comes to the forefront, and it helps identify what is really attractive to the palate without any preconceived biases. ❤
I love blinds, because they teach you so much about nosing and flavor notes and personal preferences. I started setting them up for my brother and my son during the pandemic-why not drink good whiskey while housebound and visiting over FaceTime?-and we never stopped. I haven’t tried Blind Barrel yet, but Christmas is coming …
I joined Blind Barrels after your last video. Thanks for the recommendation!! Of this flight I preferred the Buzzard's Roost and Bull Run. I ended up buying both bottles after our tasting (at a very good price)! Keep up the good work, guys!
Blinds are great because it removes all preconceived notions that I might have about a bottle or brand. I’ve been very surprised in the past when doing blind tastings. Love the channel. Y’all keep it real, from a fellow 615 unicorn.
I've done a blind tasting with my family, and not only did we have a heckuva lot of fun, it surprised us that the pours we thought were our favorites came in 3rd, 4th, or 5th place. My brother-in-law even chose a pour as #1 that he once told me he didn't even really like. Getting this Blind Barrels blind would be so fun for us.
Been following you since I began drinking ryes and bourbon, I work a lot, 6 days a week, and have never had the chance to do a blind and would truly appreciate and love it
I have hundred of bottles. And i love doing blinds cuz sometimes I just don't know what to pick from and have pour overload. I also enjoy blinds because it tests your palate and note finding.
I'm signed up with Blind Barrels. This blind was quite exceptional. So good we bought at least 1 of each. THe last blind (last month) wasn't as good. Still fun!
Started off hunting grail/allocated bottles - but when I started doing blinds, more often than not my palate was gravitating towards bottles that were more affordable/readily available. I still love searching for grail items but definitely not throwing as much money away as before 😂😅
blinds literally make tasting whiskey like its your first time again. Its wild how your psychology can affect your tastes and the blinds take that biased away. Love it
I've never been able to do a completely blind tasting, but as blind as I've been able to do - single blind flights that I've set up - have allowed me to test what I think my palate has told me. I totally blind flight would give me a chance to judge a few things entirely on their merits. 🙂 I would *love* to see Erin do a video with Trenton from SLB Drinks. The barrage of bizarre notes would be hilarious. 😂😂😂 22:39 You're pretty often not getting the "wheater funk" lately, Erin. I think you might like wheated bourbons more than you think. 🙂 Y'all might consider doing a flight, or several pairs, either putting wheated bourbons with traditional ones, or putting two or more wheated bourbons together. I suspect that doing it completely blind you might surprise yourself with the number of wheated bourbons that a) don't give you that "funk," and b) you like. 🙂
We just started getting in to whiskey. I drank Evan Williams in college but those times never ended well!! Really enjoy the channel, and this looks great for a blind tasting for our more whisky savvy friends. I lived in Nashville 1990-1996, and go back every year. Just there last week for Kenny Chesney. You guys should try a restaurant down on 1st Ave, The Rutledge, very cool vibe. Also Ernest Bar and Grill in We Ho
Englishman in Mexico, been in England for three weeks, got a great selection of bourbons and scotch , 0 bottles, I dis a scotch blind and bourbon bling at the weekend with two mates here, we love doing this, tequilas too. Favourite times , bunhabbain 12 yr cask strength ans wild turkey rare breed, unfiltered won out of the four. Each. The scotches were insane, all amazing, ardnamurchin, abalour and glenkinchie, different regions but I would love to see your faces,, Great video here, love these blinds, Enjoy, ardnamurchin is Erin’s flavours with a little plated finish, so good. Josh the barrel strength , sherry bomb with some power, go for it guys , cheers
I love blinds cause I get to sip with my son. His nose is amazing! I put a JC Malik in a blind and he picked out on the first sip. Said he could taste the crayfish😂😂(in a good way). Cheers!
Love doing blinds with my cousin Dave and his buddy Cory. They live an hour and 20 minutes away so we do a virtual blind together. I’ve gone out to their houses for a blind once. It’s time to do that again. I have my daughter drive so I don’t have to. She goes to the thrift stores when I’m doing the tasting. It’s a win win.
Blinds are fun in helping you figure out what you like without the influence of a label. Blind Barrels gives from the newer whiskey drinker to the “nerd” the opportunity to try things they may never get a chance to try. 🥃
Blinds challenge your preconceived notions of what you like. Also can give you good news when you blind something you love and it turns out to be cheap! Good luck all.
I am tired of purchasing bottles for the hype without a trusted friend telling me the bottle is a buy now. Blinds of unknown distilleries walk right into what my wife and I need. The Blind Barrel program seems like it might be a great Christmas present for my wife and me to discover new pours that are amazing. We'd love to get the sample pack and see how it works.
I want to get these and also gifts for my son in law. Great review of both this company and this whiskies. I’m a fan of Buzzards roost barrel strength char 1 rye. Enjoy!! 🥃🥃🥃
Love Erins notes. Staple store. lmao. I once use a tasting note on Garrison Bourbon saying it smelt/taste like boot leather and rattlesnake. Someone was not pleased at that tasting note. lol
I like blind tasting because it cuts out all preconceived biases I may have created in my mind and gives me a chance to try something new or change my opinion of a whiskey.

I never do it even with wine but I should.

Blind tastings are great! They not only remove hidden biases but are also fun when the results surprise you guys! Blind Barrels sounds pretty cool.
Blinds remove bias and allow you to fully focus on the experience. The mystery makes it fun and the results are often enlightening!
Blinds have become one of my favorite ways to enjoy going through bottles in my collection. Every tasting has been a great deal of fun for both me and my bourbon buddy

Oh would love a box of blind tastings. My wife and I love doing blinds with each other as we have so much fun talking about what we are experiencing.
Blinds make whiskey fun. I enjoy the challenge of picking out flavors and guessing different facts. They also help remove any bias I may have towards certain bottles. Thanks for sharing.

I never really thought of doing blind tasting till I started watching the Nashville Duo 😉! Now we do them often. It’s actually a lot of fun!
Blind barrels hits the mark! There is no arguing blind/double blind “battles”. Great content as always friends!!

I love blinds! Just about every Friday night is “Friday flight night” for me (and sometimes wifey ❤). Y’all killin it!
I love blinds it helps take the sticker influence out of the whiskey. "I'm a woman of few words" quote of the show.
Blind tastings are fun because it puts to the test what I hold “true” in my mind. And opens the door for me to find something new and enjoyable without any preconceived notions

You all turned me onto Blind Barrels and I’ve enjoyed the last few boxes. It’s fun to taste like you both do!
blinds are great balance of learning your preferences and tastebuds! enjoy the vids!
Fun video! Phil and Julie from The Bourbon Van talk about Bull Run it’s in their backyard. Sounds great!
I love being surprised by something I never tasted before. Asking for a Blind Barrel subscription for Christmas this year.
Blinds are great. It gives the whiskey a time to shine without a misconception of labels and brand name.
Love blinds! It’s the best way to force yourself to think about the characteristics of what you’re sipping
I love bind tasting…. Because it says it all! You never know what’s included. I’m not a scotch person but yall make it sound so good!

I do love a good blind tasting. I don't do them often enough. It tells you so much about what you truly like!
Blinds are always great especially when something beats what you think is great
Love finding new things that I haven't tried!

love to do blinds because you have no bias it is gonna give you the hard truth of what you trully like!
Blinds are great because it removes all preconceived notions that I might have about a bottle or brand. I’ve been very surprised in the past when doing blind tastings. Love the channel. Y’all keep it real, from a fellow 615 unicorn.
Hey neighbor!

I’ve only done a couple blinds and they were a lot of fun. Hope to do more soon!!
I love blind tastings because you approach it without any preconceived notions. I am always surprised.
Been following you since I began drinking ryes and bourbon, I work a lot, 6 days a week, and have never had the chance to do a blind and would truly appreciate and love it
Quince is great. My mother used to make quince jelly, fantastic. It's similar to a pear.
I love blinds as it takes all the bias out of what you’re drinking.
Blinds are cool, it's like a box of chocolates, you never know what you're going to get. Nice video, stuff you would never get to try normally.
Erin has the best tasting notes!
I have hundred of bottles. And i love doing blinds cuz sometimes I just don't know what to pick from and have pour overload. I also enjoy blinds because it tests your palate and note finding.
I love blinds because they help reveal what (if anything) separates tatered whiskey from normal releases.
I'm signed up with Blind Barrels. This blind was quite exceptional. So good we bought at least 1 of each. THe last blind (last month) wasn't as good. Still fun!

I love blind tasting as the search for truth, and who doesn't love surprises!
I’m new to whiskey tasting. I love blind tasting. My housemate has set up blinds for me and we are having so much fun with them.
Another excellent episode! I with yawl, blinds are fun and humbling! lol. Thank you for all the great content!
love the classic rock tasting
We just started getting in to whiskey. I drank Evan Williams in college but those times never ended well!!
Really enjoy the channel, and this looks great for a blind tasting for our more whisky savvy friends. I lived in Nashville 1990-1996, and go back every year. Just there last week for Kenny Chesney. I love blinds because they get me out of my comfort zone. I learned quickly that the mashbill can be deceiving!
It's fun to try bourbons that I usually wouldn't try. Still relatively new to drinking bourbon and have found that my palate is slowly changing.
Nothing like stripping off the labels and taking the bias from the equation. Love blind flights. Thanks.
My wife and I enjoy your channel. We like to do blinds. Would love to sample this kit. Also, props to the 112 reference
Blind tastings are fun and educational and fun again!
I love blinds because when I feel so confident with my palate and can bottle guess something from my shelf, I get pretty severely humbled😂
Englishman in Mexico, been in England for three weeks, got a great selection of bourbons and scotch , 0 bottles, I dis a scotch blind and bourbon bling at the weekend with two mates here, we love doing this, tequilas too.

I’m so bad at this but don’t even care, my wife and I love laughing at each other, Love your podcast Ty for entertainment
I love blinds cause I get to sip with my son. His nose is amazing! I put a JC Malik in a blind and he picked out on the first sip. Said he could taste the crayfish😂😂(in a good way). Cheers!
Blinds are the great equalizer. I get surprised often when doing them. Appreciate Blind Barrels and your generosity at a chance to try
Yeah what Paul (1st poster) said 😂 I’m down under so never mind on the free blind pack.
Thank you for an awesome video and a great distraction. Love you guys!
Very happy to provide that any and every chance we can. Cheers brother!
I love blinds because I can appreciate what is in the bottle for it's liquid and not because of it's reputation.
I have never done a blind tasting. But it sounds like a heck of a way to pick bottle.
I would enjoy the blind barrel to help build my abilities to identify and explain different notes and flavors. Possibly expand my range of taste.

Very cool video and blind box service! I had no idea this ever existed. 🥃
Erin at 4.44 Let’s Drink. Love your content.
Great flight 🥃
Congrats to @thewhiskeysgt on winning the Blind Barrels giveaway!
I gave this to my son for Christmas but we haven't gotten together to try the first one. Really sounds intresting.
I love blind tastings. It’s the truest form of finding what you like the best at the moment! Also, being in TN, I still can’t get these shipments.
We feel your pain. We've got some out of state help.
Someone was not pleased at that tasting note. lol
I LOVE blinds because it takes all bias out of the tasting 😊
I love blind tastings where I can be surprised by new stuff or rediscover old favorites, that’ll make me sing like Erin (not like Joshua 😂).
That's very fair. If a pour makes you sing like me, probably a bottle you're best not to revisit. 😂
Blind tastings are the best way to find out what tastes best at that moment. #blindbarrels giveaway is a great gift. Good job you all!!!
Nice! 👍 Great show as always! Cheers!
Blinds always speak the truth!
I like blind tasting because it cuts out all preconceived biases I may have created in my mind and gives me a chance to try something new or change my opinion of a whiskey.
