This is a great list! Wish we could get our hands on some of the more allocated JD products, but we're happy to see that people enjoy them. Cheers, guys!
Great list! Love your honest takes on the secondary market as well. I used to get fired up about 2-3x MSRP markups, but realized that I should consider the value of all the time I was putting into chasing bottles through drops and lotteries.
I finally picked up a bottle of the JD Single Barrel Barrel Proof Rye. Cracked it open last night which was probably wasted as my allergies are cranking currently. I didn't get anything on the nose or pallette that stood out. It was tasty but all I got was a big ol hug from the 133 proof. I went back and smelled my glass this morning and it was full of vanilla but I couldn't get anything other than that. Looking forward to going back to it when I can breathe better.
The most recent two were selected as part of our annual event in Nashville this past weekend, so bottles were sold on site at Nashville Barrel Co. Remaining stock (122 bottles) will go online in the next few weeks to be released to Patreon supporters in tiered order. Any remaining bottles will be made available to folks who sign up for the free tier on Patreon. www.patreon.com/stuffandwhiskey
You guys are "making" me buy things I don't normally buy. I say that in a good way. (For example, bourbon brands I wouldn't do until I hear your take on them. Now I just went and bought a Rye. You recently had Hard Truth Sweet Mash Rye and Sagamore Spirit (Hard Truth also in today's video). I could not find Hard Truth Sweet Mash Rye but did buy Sagamore Spirit. I'm getting ready to try it. Will be a first purely Rye for me. Thanks.
@@stuffandwhiskey Yeah, I think the blend is what works for me. I usually like bourbons with low rye in the mash bill so I'm surprised at liking this rye. I trusted you guys!
I started writing when Hard Truth came up…if you are sitting in the fence thinking about supporting this channel on Patreon, take the leap and gain access to Josh & Erin’s picks. Excellent channel quality, obviously, but their picks are so, so solid. Great whiskey community as well, live streams are fun, and…did I mention access to their picks? 🙂 Cheers 🥃

I do have a question, your last year whiskey of the year Elijah Craig c923 beat out the 13 colony bourbon. Did you guess change your mind on it or I’m I mixing it up with an another whiskey? Also where do you rank it as well?
Great question. That was my (Josh) blind taste ranking, whereas this was a blend of bottles we both love, and this list took into account the “special bottle” wow factor as well. In a blind tasting, C923 would easily be in the Top 10 and maybe the Top 5.

Somehow, I think I like New riff a little more.

Haha! Well I wrote down all the whiskeys shown in this video and decided that if I ever win the MegaMillion or Powerball Lottery, I'll hunt down these whiskeys and try them.
Got a pretty decent look around 5:05, looks like a Submariner, couldn’t give you a reference, I’m not a Rolex guy. Wearing an Orient Ray II as I write this. :) I am however sipping a Coopers which I learned about from this lovely, stylish couple.
@BoozewithNick good eye, and good selection on the Orient Ray II. I'm a Seiko fanboy but have had my fair share of Orients in the past. @Ken-uu3fc it's a 14060M Submariner (circa 2008) and Erin has a 16013 Datejust from my birthyear (1983).
Big Omega fan here as well! A hesalite sandwich Speedy was my first "big boy" mechanical watch, and I still want another Speedmaster badly. My issue is that I've learned that I'm a bracelet guy through and through, and the bracelets on Speedmasters when I was buying weren't great. They've much improved them now with the modern Speedmaster release (love the new bracelet taper and adjustability), and they've also slimmed down the midcase which is also important to me for comfort on the wrist. I just gotta pinch pennies, stop spending so much on whiskey, and go get one.
Not a lot of awesome whiskey... while Old Fitz, King of Kentucky, and some Kentucky Owl sit on the table behind Erin. Then they go on to wheel out 4 bottles that are pretty much unobtanium. Sure, they don't have Emmer Wheat or Buffalo Trace Prohibition Old Stagg but King of Kentucky and 13th Colony DO are pretty much the most exclusive whiskey a collector could reasonably hope to own.
This video was basically the whole of our “collection” viewers might actually be interested in. Most everything else is either 1) single barrel picks as that’s what we love and buy, or 2) standard shelf bottles that we bought for the channel that would have viewers snoozing halfway through the video. 😆

I'm very unhappy with wild turkey, for only letting out of the country travelers buy the Rare Breed non chill filtered. I have a friend who flew from here to Miami, and duty free wouldn't sell it because he was traveling in country. So, they don't need my money. Anyone would find this unbelievable, but a friend here picked up a Stag in a liquor store around here for $50. They clearly didn't know what they had. Nice video.
Josh here. What about my hair, John!? Haha, j/k, I definitely know I lucked out. We work pretty well together because we both feel lucky to have found the other one. Thanks for the kind words!

Depends on how you look at it. All at secondary value? Haven’t done the math but maybe. Probably. That said, we’ve spent more than that in one year trying to “build a relationship” with a local store on shelf products and store picks only to get a Stagg Jr at year end for $100. Secondary would’ve been a lot cheaper than that relationship.
Corny? That’s hilarious. We picked the 10 best bottles we own. That was the premise of the video. Not sure if you’re familiar with the channel or not but we’d be doing bourbon hunting videos instead of completely blind tastings if we cared about likes and subscribers. We value honesty and community over here. If either of those bother you, that’s fine, but you’re probably going to hate our content.

Ditto on Nashville Barrel. Amazing bourbons and ryes. Love their tasting room too!
Great list! I’m 63 and you never know about tomorrow so for me I’m a drink them if you got them and remember how great they were:) Cheers!
I agree...I have a selection not a collection nor a museum. We only get 1 pass at this life. CHEERS!
The distilleries make whisky for people to drink, and I buy whisky to drink it. If I wasn't going to drink it, I wouldn't buy it. 🙂
Preach. I’m bad to look at some of them but am getting better.
It’s like a mid season ‘best of.’ agnostic of year. What a treat!

I’ve given King of Kentucky and Coy Hill to people blind that were battling allergies and they got nothing as well. Allergies are no joke.
