I totally love your videos! I’m just saying this for full disclosure for people who may want to try some of these. Part of your experience with some of these soaps is the amount you’re using. I had the Tatcha one too - it was a gift to me - and that one in particular is a Japanese-style cleanser. You only need a very little bit, and you’re supposed to lather it in your hands BEFORE applying to your face. Japanese people never lather their soap on their face (Koreans don’t either) because it can be too harsh on the skin. Once you lather it, the rice powder goes away. Ditto for the other products - in most cases you’re just using way too much product which can cause irritation. I jokingly refer to it as “influencers’ dermatitis” because influencers have so much product to go through they tend to use too much at once (and often too many products at once, which I think you’re pretty careful to not do!!). All that said, I could definitely believe this isn’t great for sensitive skin!!!

I was going to say the exact same about the Tatcha one - you have to lather in your hands first with a little water so the rice powder kinda dissolved…and it’s silky smooth after!

The Ordinary's Squalane Cleanser is making me so happy with my skin. At 57, I've never been happy with my skin, early hormonal acne which never resolved until mid 30s when I took retin-A. But I was left with plenty of scars. Finally becoming educated by beautiful people like you, Abbey, thank you

I feel like she’s gonna react to these ones like how she reacted to Krave Cleanser. They are a little bit too hydrating for oily, acne-prone skin (at least for me). However, I think the Squalene Cleanser is really good as a first cleanse in a double cleanse

Lovely Abbey 💕Your blonde is looking so natural and healthy!
The BEST cleanser that I have used (for 10 years now) is Dermalogica Special Cleansing Gel. The formula is simple and gentle on my sensitive skin. I use a glycolic acid cleanser twice weekly for exfoliating.
At 37, I still have hormonal acne and this is the only regimen that helps heal it without scars.

Tatcha rice cleanser is THE BEST! It’s the only one I use plus tatcha rice grains and their cleansing oil. I would suggest adding more water to the paste and working it into a creamy foam. It’s gentle and effective on my 70 year old skin. 🥰

I buy that Simple cleanser at Marshall’s for $3.99 and it’s excellent quality. I also continue to use Cerave and Vanicream cleansers religiously. I just don’t see the need to spend more money on this stuff when the inexpensive products have such good quality 😀

The Tatcha rice cleanser confused me at first too, but I quickly figured out that if I mix water with it the “scratchy” particles dissolve and the cleanser feels very silky on the skin. If you try it again I recommend using much less (pea or dime size amount) and mix with some water before lathering on the skin! 😊 Love your videos!

For the Tatcha rice cleanser, after applying to your face, you need to add a little water to it, then essentially emulsify it. Once you add some water it becomes the most lovely soft silky formula. Having that said, I cut it out of my routine because it tested as pH 6-6.5.

I’ve used Tula’s the cult classic for the last 3ish years. I mainly bought it because a lot of the gym influencers I followed recommended it. I don’t have too many complaints, but I have noticed as time has gone on that it does leave my skin feeling dry and stripped. Recently it’s given me flaky spots, and that’s why I ultimately decided to switch to the vanicream gentle cleanser you’ve recommended. I went through a HUGE Tula phase, but I’ve realized there’s no reason to have a $150+ skincare routine through them if I’m not 100% satisfied with the results. I don’t think it’s worth the hype anymore, and I’m slowly cycling all of their products out of my routine. Thank you for all of the recommendations! I’ve been loving the vanicream gentle cleanser and their daily moisturizer!

I could NOT agree more with your thoughts on the Tula one. I got a full size of it in a subscription box last year and after one use I was immediately turned off by the texture and scent of it. The scent smells like expired men's cologne that's gone bad mixed with a dusty room to me and I honestly do not understand how anyone can find it appealing, including the formulators. I hate wasting product and have resorted to trying to use it up washing my feet because I don't want it anywhere near my face. Very bizarre formula to me.
Love the Krave cleanser though, by far my holy grail that I always go back to. I really enjoyed the cleanser from Hyram's line as well but I hate the packaging so much that I refuse to buy it again unless the cap of the tube is changed. Shame too because the product itself is wonderful.

I really like the Tatcha Rice Wash but the trick to it, for me, is to use a really small amount and kind of lather it up in your hands before putting it on your face. A little goes a long way and I don't notice any gritty texture. I still think it's too expensive for me to justify repurchasing, though it has been my favorite cleanser I've tried in a while and I use such a small amount that it's lasting a while

I use No 7 protect and perfect skincare line. I absolutely love it!!
The cleanser is foam. It deep cleans even the thick foundations like Estée Lauder and Dior. Completely dissolves mascara and lipstick. Doesn’t sting my eyes at all and I scrub my eyes to get makeup off. The toner, serum booster, day & night creams are top notch!!
I purchase during the sales @ Walgreens and use my reward points twice a year to stay stocked. The entire line lasts me about 5-6 months. Occasionally I have to purchase extra cleanser.
I really wish people would try their products. I have used Laura Mercier, Armani, etc and have never experienced anything like this.
My skin transformed instantly after starting their products. I received a Christmas gift box with the entire line from my Gma and she said she was a Merle Norman nazi for 40 years and then tried her sisters No 7 products while on vacation and decided to give it a try. We have agreed that it doesn’t get enough credit and can’t believe more people are not talking about these products.
They have absolutely beautiful makeup too and I find a lot of the makeup on sale at Target.
    Worth every penny!!!

Don’t know if you’ve heard of this but target sales it online it’s the brand “Rael” the cleanser is called “Daily detox” it’s green. It’s a simple gentle cleanser that’s good for all skin types. I have dry and it doesn’t strip my skin!! It’s lathers good too. My daughter had oily skin and she loves it too. I’d try it. Love it. I’ve bought it multiple times so far.

My favorites are your favorite inexpensive ones. Vanicream Gentle Facial Cleanser, Neutrogena HydroBoost Gentle Cleansing Lotion, and Aveeno Calm+Restore Oat Cleanser. I have BYBI Milk Melt, but won't buy again unless they change the packaging to a pump dispenser. I'm weird that way. Lol
I won't be trying any of the cleaners in this video due to the prices, as I am very happy with the selection I currently have at my house. Thanks though for reviewing, I enjoy watching ALL of your videos.

Yes! Tula cleanser has a terrible scent....as for the texture, I used a tiny amount and foamed it in my hands before lathering my face. It was OK, but halfway through the bottle, I was dying to switch to another product.

hi Abbey, you should try the Haruharu wonder black rice cleansing gel. it’s fragance free, foam up a bit and lather so nicely. It’s also very gentle and hydrating. I am oily and acne prone, I tried the Geek and Gorgeous cleanser but I think Haruharu is even better.

Purlisse 4 in 1 Lotus is the best I have used, it really firmed and brightened my skin. The Tula cleanser didn't do that for me at all and I love the smell, maybe yours was bad but if it burns it's def not for you. I'd love to see you try Kate Sommerville goat milk cleanser.

Love your reviews! For this one, I did notice you used LOTS of product for most if not all cleansers. I wonder if amount used would effect some of those reviews? A little might go a long way for some cleansers to be effective. You might want to try Good Molecules Rosewater Daily Cleansing Gel. I too have sensitive, acne-prone skin that can dehydrate very easily even when my skin leans toward oily. I use this as my second step in double cleansing in the shower at the end of my day. Two pumps is sufficient for me.

I just tried the Krave Matcha Cleanser for the first time, and whereas I loved the bouncy jelly cleanser (it’s lovely), it left my skin feeling a bit tight and stinging. Maybe an allergen?? I seem to be the only one! To be fair, I’ve been acclimating to Tretinoin for the past month and a half, so there’s that. Still, my favorite second cleanse is the Osea Ocean Cleanser. It does have a couple citrus oils which surprisingly do not irritate my skin at all; though I know others may have sensitivities. It always leaves my skin hydrated and soft. Even when using Tretinoin.

Abby I just wanted to add in the comments because you asked for some feedback about the Tula cleanser and I use it daily and I have to wonder if you got one that was expired somehow or something because I don't have that experience with my bottle at all. When I put it in my hand yes it looks like when you squeeze it out. I do get water on it while it's in my hands and emulsify it before I put it on my face so I don't put it directly on a dry face. I get my hands and my face wet before applying the cleanser to my face. And I smelled mine specifically because you said about how yours smelled and mine has a very soft barely there at all scent. I'm sorry that you had such a bad experience with the Tula cleanser.

I love tatcha rice wash. But you need to mix it with water so it emulsifies, and I would never use it on the eyes. Do you actually use as much of each cleanser as you showed in the video? If so, seems wasteful and also why you may have more sensitivity than others might.
