    I worked in this area for PG & E back in the early 80s. It is beautiful. I lived in Sonoma, then Glen Ellen. This area could be the hills between Petaluma and Sonoma, or up in the Glen Ellen area, or elsewhere, but either way, a beautiful part of the world, for sure. The guys that land these big modular homes, are amazing. I know several....good guys. Thanks for sharing. Congrats on your new home! There's something sacred about that word: home! God bless you and yours!

    Curious what the cost is and purpose of the video? Is there a significant savings doing it this way? Who is the builder? No information or links in your description.

      The purpose of the video was to show friends and family who were curious about the project. It is a manufactured home so you can search online to find manufacturers for your area. Costs vary based on location, permits, local subcontractors, etc.
      Thank you for watching and your interest.

      The builder delivered with the big truck and the settlers took over. Prices have gone up since 2007 for sure.

    Interesting process; saves needing a crane. However, the home design resembles a very large chicken coop, lol. Obviously not my money! I personally would opt for a conventional ranch style layout there in the country with dormers and a large walk-around deck - but again, Not My Money! Enjoy.

      My reason for the tilted shed design choice was to maximize sun exposure on the south facing side and to have one rain gutter to keep clean versus two. Also, we may try rain capture from the rain gutter to store rain water for later use. We are in a drought here in Sonoma County.
      It is a guest house for friends and family when they visit.

    It would have been so much more interesting if you had not cut so much of the action out. Still shots don't tell the same story. We have a very similar house being delivered in about 3 weeks and I would have loved seeing what actually took place with yours.

    I guess the obvious question is how much money does the homebuyer save? What features of a home are sacrificed? Will this last 50 years ?

      if they keep up with repairs and basic maintenance it should.

    • @kapuala88
      @kapuala88  2 роки тому +3

      Regarding savings, it depends on the costs of a conventional stick built house and your local permit process. Here in Sonoma County, the county lost around 5,000 homes in the 2017 fire so contractors are expensive and in short supply.
      A manufactured home is another option. As with any home, it needs to be maintained.

    Beautiful job on the foundation

    • @kapuala88
      @kapuala88  2 роки тому

      That guy was an artist and his crew delivered. The foundation has to be exact because the house was bolted onto the foundation so the room for error was small.

      I agree, Ray Ray. I made the video because it was the first time for me to see it being done. It was very interesting to watch the team.
