Ooooh there is a very deep rabbit hole you can go under with Dave. I recommend Dave Black live at the Brits. My 19th Birthday and Heart Attack to name but a few.
Just to add to this he has directed a bunch of his biggest songs videos and has even directed other large artists videos also some of his tracks have been self produced like Proffessor-X
As a long time Dave fan i think his best songs are the deep depressing ones, id highly recommend checking out Environment, Survivor's Guilt, Three Rivers, We're All Alone, My 19th Birthday, How I Met My Ex, Heart Attack, My 24th Birthday, Mercury. The list could go on and on, and that's before even getting to his less meaningful, mainstream songs or/and his countless features with other UK rappers. For someone so young he really has a insane amount of good songs, furthest thing from a one hit wonder. Environment & Survivor's Guilt are definitely my top two underrated songs.
The reason why it's called question time is under the Westminster system, Ministers are and remain Members of Parliament and must answer to the Parliament for their actions and the actions of the Government. Question Time, in particular, is the Opposition's opportunity to ask the questions that scrutinise the Government's programs and to receive answers. It's also a TV show where the public can ask Ministers questions so this song is Dave hosting his own question time.
Question Time is a political TV show here in the UK so the video is a kind of a mick set of the show. Dave is world class artist and plays piano, guitar and produces mostly everything you here. Santan is his proud tion name a d dave when he raps. Please check out more tracks like Heart Attack and maybe Psycho. Great reaction
Dave is a true Tupac figure for a new generation. He's a man who wrestles with a past while striving to have a hand in creating a better future in a way that's genuinely vulnerable and so courageous. I'm really rooting for UK hip-hop culture, because the US is doing everything we can to destroy what was built here.
ok something brand new to me I never seen him before and I kind of like him so he is a political rapper from the UK i get it he is pretty good thanks for doing this I dont think I would have found this otherwise it is one of the biggest reasons I love you always doing different music from around the world all the time so keep it up your doing so good at this. And wow almost at 50k now growing everyday. As always your ride or die forever EyyyyOooo
Hes not always as political as he is here but he always speaks openly about subjects that a lot of people aren’t comfortable speaking about, id recommend Psychodrama and We’re all alone in this together if your looking for his best work
Welcome down the rabbit hole of British Consious Rap! Definitely check out ‘Dave - Live at the Brits’ and ‘Akala - Fire in the booth (4parts all equally life changing)
That's a lot of politics. He is good at what he does. It is always good to see freedom displayed. The freedom of speaking your opinion without being shut down. I am happy to say I am a christian, but I am happy to say I have had 2 teens that worshipped Odin, a Zen Buddhist, 2 atheists,an agnostic, a practicing wiccan all living in my home at one time or another rent free. We had differences in faith and political differences. I am a constitutionalist. Neither party shows me too much to be proud of. We all got along well. We each spoke our peace then respected each others differences.
If you like this. I highly recommend Akala - Fire In The Booth Part 1-4 and ofc more Dave. Black at the Brits, Heart Attack, We’re All Alone, Psycho, Mercury, the list goes on and on. Dave hasn’t released a bad track in my opinion.
Oh snap..I came here as a big dave fan..and that aint changed obv.. I'm not as left leaning as dave...your take on this was really impressive and very balanced...UK politics is generally more left leaning than us.. that's just a fact .but this was completely unbiased...I thought this was great
If I could only listen to one artist for the rest of my life it would be dave, he‘s truly an artist! About his name; his producer name is SANTAN and his rapper name is Dave. Some of the people I show his art find it to sad and I can understand that, his songs hit deep, thats whats so beautiful about them to me! He also has many great songs that are less serious, I would recommend you to listen to his last two albums, two true Masterpieces! First time seeing a video of yours, enjoyed it very much! greetings:)
I'm so happy you reacted to Dave and some more is on the way. Since i saw the first NF Reaction from you i already digged to the idea you would really enjoy Dave then too. Question Time is surely a very political track, but even if you don't may agree with some or even all of his points, thats free for everyones mind, i like his approach and style to connect to peoples mind - in this case - british people and their problems in their politics. Just think about the scenario: Somone from the partys he spoke of would somehow get to his track and hear this. Or somehow thats on his way to step up in a few years in politics. His mindset is constructive and i think theres alot to learn from him in that way - whatever position you are in. Sure - he did some namedropping and actually accused persons in politics or even states for stuff - but in the end - thats his mind right there and he surely got some points why he would have such a anger and dissapointment behind it - even losing trust in potential political partys that swear to step up and change some things. In terms of "he is a special rapper and has a way that nobody else does" he has much better tracks to shine from: Lesley Heart Attack (diffrent topics - but while there are tons of other subjects, theres also some speech on politics here) Black (best the Live Version of BRIT's - you won't regret that, but carefully, but also has some political aspects, let me give you that little warning) My 19th birthday My 24th birthday Picture Me DAVE | BL@CKBOX S6 Ep. 24/65 (he started very young with rap and this one is one of his peak performances where you could see how much is hidden in him) I could go on and on - he has very much stuff that worthy to check out - but since these are already a couple of options - thats what i stay with for the "best recommendations" Also there's a lot going on in UK rap back in the last years... like a formation of very talented rappers that connect to each other alot in their songs - one of the biggest of them is surely Dave - but a Key Person Dave also mentioned tons of times as a big influence is Stromzy. Stromzy did a track called "Mel made me do it" - in which he finished with a very meaningful speech and also paying respect to all these great artists - combining their album ideas like puzzle peaces to a big picture for the listeners - won't spoiler more but if you are up for some more UK Artists in the future - you can't go wrong with Stromzy too. For myself - theres music to enjoy - music with a message and music with a very important message and diffrent approach to listeners. The last category is hard to find and rare since artists need to have very clever way to connect in that way to the audience. Dave and NF are both in the last category and i love them for their work and using their range and talent to really help people in situations that they not even would realize as a problem yet - but already damaging their psyche and way of life. And for both of them that ain't easy since they suffer alot from these problems themself and already progressed alot through it to give advice and experience in that way. Whatever comes next - hope you enjoy. :)
Another Dave reaction is needed this is far from his best work, I’d recommend Leslie or Heart Attack and panic attack or black performed live, Dave is my fav artist so I hope you find this rabbit hole
I’ve never heard a British rapper use an American accent for their songs because they aren’t trying to get big in America but in europe. No one would listen to them if they had an American accent.
THANK YOU SO MUCH!!! People call me crazy when I say UK singers like Adele sing in an American accent 😂 Even Ed Sheeran sings in a mix of accents, some words sound British but most sound American. Here in the UK no one really seems to be able to tell the difference because we are so used to hearing US pop singers, that why it still happens with singers mostly. When it comes to UK Rock/Indie Pop singers, rappers and other genres people notice and don't like it but not with singing for some reason. A rapper from the UK couldn't get away with rapping in an American accent at all though, people would immediately mock them for it.
Somebody in the comment section of another video mentioned Cuban and then it clicked. Cubans (or white cubans) apparently overwhelmingly support Trump. She probably didn't like the bar about Trump. I noticed with American reactors when someone criticises Trump the video is acknowledged as 'political' but when it's the other way nobody cares lol.
slightly a lie lol; obviously the fake American accent doesn't run anymore these days but in the early days of hip hop and even some drill music over here, guys would mimic American accents; one example i can think of rn is S.L.A.S.H - Hardball
@@keironlaer that’s like me saying ..boys are stronger than girls . A female wouldnt beat a mma fighter in a fight. Ronda roused would still beat a 17 year old shit mma fighter

There isn’t any uk rappers who try to sound American. Also when you talk about singing it isn’t trying to sound American it’s a singing voice. You can’t tell where an American singer is from most off time time when singing unless there from the south 🤷♂️
I don't mean any offence, but I feel like you massively missed the point of the song. Yes he wrapping about issues that happened. It didn't matter what flow or lyricism he showed, this song is incredible because it challenged. And also helped for people who were uninformed. Obviously you won't know about most UK issues that happened and are happening but I'd rather you ask about them than talk about, his ad libs, flow and the beat.
No offense taken. I didn’t want to explore all the political events and issues he was addressing in this song. Lots to explore. Personally I like looking at both the flow, musical elements etc as well as lyrics. Here I chose not to dive as deep tho I can def appreciate how he uses his platform to speak on many important issues and call out the system. I like that. Looking forward to checking out more of his work.
It's great when rappers use their talent to speak for positive changes, instead of self centered self serving raps. Another rapper along these lines goes by the name Boyinaaband, start with "Don't Stay In School".
