You have to appreciate Trent’s ‘reductio ad absurdum’ approach.
He basically followed their premises all the way to the absurd when they start defending bestiality over killing an animal for food.
In reality, I am sure they will be more outraged if they did see a person having sex with an animal, but they will rather go against conscience and reason to hold on to the absurd conclusions of their premises.

@@marfin4325Logic isn’t the end all be all of moral questions. Logic is useful, obviously but if you can logic your way into screwing an animal, a dead body or your sister, then your system for establishing right and wrong is just fundamentally incorrect.
I will say this: I didn’t have to be taught that screwing my sister was wrong. I had no desire to, she is my family. This is normal behavior for normal societies. I didn’t have to be taught to not want to screw animals, I’ve never had the desire nor do 99% of people. Why is that the case? Couldn’t it be argued that instinctually, we fundamentally know it is bad behavior? Do I really need to form a logic chain argument that proves screwing animals is wrong in order to believe screwing animals is wrong? Of course not.
All any of this is, is just degenerates coping and trying to find ways to argue for their destructive lifestyles, which have been perpetuated into the main stream for average people to consume. Porn, prostitution, sex with animals, any of it, is terrible and provides zero good for society. Even from destiny’s view point, he has to admit that everything he is arguing for, is at best, morally neutral, which means it provides no good, at all, so why do it? Especially with the vast amounts of data that shows he destructive it actually is. He’s nothing but a coomer and so are you.

He says he’s all about following what “the science” is and what “the statistics” are to define morality but only when it’s in his favor. This is the third debate I’ve seen where he just tries to pull semantics or red herrings to divert from harmful information. If you watch the full debate he tries to argue with Layla that her friend who was a sex worker and turned his life around didn’t have 30 friends commit suicide or die from drugs. He tried to argue that he had actually lived a better life than being a crack addict by being a sex worker. Completely disregarding and disrespecting Layla’s friend. Just because it “seemed unreasonable” to Destiny. He doesn’t believe in science he believes in scientism. And he thinks he can rationalize himself out of a box. Hi, Jazmin! Psychotherapist here. Let me clarify your incredible confusion. I’ve worked with children, adolescents, and adults for 15 years. I have never met someone who watches porn or engages in casual sex that DOESN’T have problems with intimacy. I’ve worked with perhaps hundreds of men who want healthy sexual relationships with their partner, and porn has robbed them of that. I’ve worked with dozens of women who have been significantly damaged by hook-up culture and porn expectations. This lifestyle ONLY leads to dysfunction and disorder. Period.
*Edit: And I’ll add that people will justify and defend these behaviors (as y’all have on the @whatever podcast), sometimes for years, before coming to realize the harm they have caused for their relationships and in their life. Regardless of how long it takes or even whether someone finally accepts it, watching porn and having casual sex is damaging 100% of the time to 100% of people. 🤷🏻‍♂️ And any research you point to for justifying that it’s okay is just nonsense and wishful thinking. Here's the problem Destiny has: Instead of building a moral framework around moral principles that are obvious, such as "You ought not engage in sexual acts with animals" or "You ought not have incestual sex," he instead creates a moral framework that is less obvious, but is more consistent with atheism, and then only judges acts based on that framework. It's reasoning from the less obvious rather than the more obvious. Everything is beholden to his moral framework even when the answer is absurd. But in the end, he's an outspoken moral nihilist about objective values and duties. So in his view, there is no objective standard for anything, including nonconsensual sex. It's only a convention that you may or may not pay a social price for violating. When you reduce it to that, it's no surprise that you get absurd conclusions.

My logic is something like life is good because I enjoy being alive, good things happen that I enjoy. Sometimes bad things happen but overall it's a good experience, I would rather live and die than never have lived. even if bad things happen, more good things can happen if you stay alive, so it's always better to live.
That's why if I had to be raped or killed, I would choose to be raped. because even though it's terrible it allows me to continue living and experience other things that are good and that I enjoy. If I get killed then it's just all over. The stats seem to agree with me since 13% of women who are raped attempt suicide (I couldn't find the number of actual sucides but it must be less than 13 which is already a fairly low number for this point). If rape was worse you would see a much higher number of suicides.
This is pretty clear if you think about it. For example: if you were put in the body of a dog, would you rather be killed and eaten or would you rather lick peanut butter out of a vag? and that's not even as bad as being penetrated, but is the example trent was using.

I was shocked at the things Trent and Lila's opponents said in the debate while presuming to be morally superior to them. The offense that angered me the most was oddly not the morally depraved things they were defending (which goes to show the truth in G.K. Chesterton's observation that opponents of Christianity will fling away humanity if only they may attack the Church), but the grievous acts of committing informal logical fallacies against Trent and Lila while daring to gaslight them into thinking that the breaking of the rules of debate (i.e., don't commit logical fallacies) was occurring and falsely accusing Trent and Lila of committing the fallacies when Trent and Lila (and sometimes the host moderator) called them out on it. So many genetic fallacies and straw man fallacies were uttered that more than ever when I watch Trent's videos, I was relying on him to remind me what the discussion was in the first place. Great job in the debate, Trent and Lila, and for keeping your calm when the fallacies were committed against you.

    Beautifully articulated, Trent, as usual.
I do want to add a distinction here on the selling of plasma that most people likely don’t realize. Right now, in the United States, any plasma that has been collected in exchange for money cannot be given directly to a patient in a hospital bed. Plasma collected in these plasma centres is actually sold to vendors in order to produce and sell reagent material for laboratories or gets purchased by a research team. The free will donation you make at your blood bank is the only collection that can be given to a patient in need. I’d be interested in your thoughts on this. Knowing that these paid-for donations go to companies who will repackage and sell at a markup makes me believe more so that these services are exploitation as you inferred.

Watching Jazmen and Destiny in this debate to me was like watching two people trying to make hedonism their identity but having an internal conflict where reason and intuition acts as a wall and they're trying to find ways to push the boundary, but from their position why are they trying so hard to not walk around the wall? They throw jabs at Trent and Lila for being religious, which I can only guess is because religious people try to enforce standards in which they don't agree, but if nothing ultimately matters, this generation will be dead in 100 years, and the planet will end at some point, why do they even bother caring about the protection of children in this context? Even someone like Lana Rhoades will come out and say that she regretted her career and the slippery slope of actions she had to endure because people wanted to make money off of her, and she felt so much pressure that she couldn't find it in herself to say no. Then everyone on social media makes jokes about her kids one day seeing her work, which is the reality we live in. So it seems like the OnlyFans sex worker likes the idea of making a lot of money for easy work and pleasure, but then they'll say "it's unfortunate that kids are able to have access to this explicit stuff, I wish they didn't have access" even though they are a cog advancing the machine of misfortune. Like with Lana Rhoades' case, it seems that sex work can often become a slippery slope where things become too vanilla and consumers demand more extremity, which not only dehumanizes these women like Trent was saying but we find that a lot of the time that serial killers and rapists are the ones consuming this type of extreme content when it reaches that point.

The pornstar pretty much held the position that *simulated* pedofilia is morally good insofar as it potentially reduces real instances of pedofilia, and that beastiality *would be* morally permissible if animals could consent. That alone should be enough to reveal what such a worldview leads to. That you’d rather have sex with a dog than kill it, then advocate for mothers killing off their own progeny is wild to me. Sure, let’s save the dogs but kill off our own kind in our wombs. Nice.
Honestly, why they try to root it in consent alone is beyond me. Consent is a necessary condition for any act involving more than one party, but it isn’t a sufficient one. People could consent to pretty much anything; it doesn’t follow that *anything* is therefore good on account of said consent. A sadomasochist and a masochist could consent to violent sex because they both desire it-but I’d maintain that violent sex is bad in itself, and remains so whether consented to or not. For this simple reason: the morality of any act is not determined by our *willing* it, but by whether what we will leads to our *flourishing* given the kind of beings we are. Right reason *directs* the will to real goods. Desire doesn’t make an act good. Nor does consent. Its goodness is contingent on whether or not it fulfills your human nature.
