I’ve been using Krita since early 2020 when my CSP subscription ended, and at first I used it as a temporal alternative to CSP but to my surprise Krita became my main software to work with.
I really enjoy the tons of features it has and the engines for brushes, and it’s so easy to customize my workflow and everything runs so smoothly I’m just so in love with this program. I’m so glad the community is growing, I hope it keeps doing it. You guys are doing an amazing job with Krita and I can’t thank you enough for it.

Also Krita has a cool furry cyber squirrel mascot, and that’s like the coolest thing I’ve seen in any art program

I would like to see a Epic Mega Grant. That could help boost the development.

    • @tymondabrowski12

Krita got Epic Mega Grant, it just wasn't really that "mega" in case of Krita: krita.org/en/item/krita-receives-epic-megagrant/ - it was 25 000, much smaller than what Blender got - 1.2 milliion... but it was a substantial amount of Krita, around one month of expenses, if I calculate correctly.

Yes, Krita is free but donations keep it running and also gives someone the pay to sit and make new codes, filters etc... to keep the program running and improved. Yes, people are having a difficult time now but one dollar a day or whatever you can give will help improve and develop the program. Look how blender improved after an influx of funds....it came a long way fast.....

Not sure if it's because I started going more hardcore with art, or because I changed to krita, but I have seen the improvement. I formerly used ps, but I felt incredibly contra intuitive for me. Krita is like a blank canvas of endless possibilities, I just LOVE how you guys allowed to make everything so customizable! (just to give an example I have changed almost every single key on my pc, and even I have a set of macros on my half keyboard: 1 for painting, and the other for animation. Also, the brush engines!!! They work amazing!!! And is so easy to create new brushes Variations!. And the reference tool!!! omg I always think how Adobe could miss that? I do the 99.9 % of my work on krita and I always recommend it. BUT....
nah there is no but,. Thanks for the great work. So happy to donate to this great tool! Y gracias por los tutoriales y bundles!!! :)

Desde que conocí este programa quedé maravillado y, aunque no soy un profesional de la ilustración, me encanta hacer mis pinturas y dibujos. No tengo ninguna pretensión artística.

The only thing i hate when doing a feature request is getting comments like: why don't you do it your self or stop comparing it to other softwares.
And thats what kept me from ever doing other requests, i think the community should be open and accepting that not everyone is a coder.
Maybe doing a feature request is the only way that i can help krita grow

    • @KritaOrgPainting

Actually, what I love of Krita is that it's being compared to this big company softwares and it's getting very close.
Yes, big companies always will have an advantage, most of them have decades on the market, but, some of them don't work for the user. Adobe, for example, when they change their payment method, it was obvious they didn't want to target one user, but a whole company.

Krita 5 will have lower RAM usage because it won't load all the resources at once, only when you need them. But biggest memory footprint is your own picture - and there is not really a way to solve it. You paint four thousand pixels with red, it takes four thousand pixels in memory (unless you smartly use a Fill Layer). And there are some caches etc. to make operations faster, too. Reducing RAM in that case would make other things worse, for example slower.
