Hello Mr. Ramon well to start off Perspective is important in animation and used them more often but sir i am interest when Krita 5 will be available in the next month though and best tutorial ever i love it Krita has all the features we all need we love the Krita team as well it cheers.😎😎😎😎😎
Krita 5 is an important step, and the team wants to do things very carefully. So be patience is not something for this month ;). Thanks for your support and comments, i read them often. //RM
Indeed Mr. Ramon i can wait in the next 2 months you know i ve huge 2D animation for sonic the hedgehog to do and i cannot do it without Krita sir i will be patient i know one or two things knows about being patient take care.
the perspective tools were already pretty amazing before, but yeah, aligning two vanishing points to be on the same horizon, making parallel rulers perfectly vertical or horizontal and so on was a serious pain. great to see Krita get ever more userfriendly over time!
As a new artist, I just wanna say a huuuuge thanks to you guy's. In less than a week, I have been able to make some pretty amazing stuff, from within your software. All I did was pick up a 50 dollar tablet, and downloaded your software, and that's all I needed.
I have been teaching my son 2 and 3 point perspective and he is doing very well with traditional tools so it's very nice to see a free program that allows fast experimentation of theory Thank you for the video!
I've been drawing for a long time, and using krita for a while, and I didn't know about this tool, or how to use a measure points. The more you know! Thanks!
Thanks for the video! I read the docs and I was having a tough time visualizing what should be happening. I LOVE Krita so far, been playing around with it for about a month and there are so many great features to it! I feel like it's much, much better suited for drawing and painting than Photoshop is. The way pallettes work, the brush engine and tagging brushes, the pop-up pallette...it's got so many great features. And animation is a huge plus, too!
Wow! Thank you for this video. I have been struggling and putting aside a drawing for weeks because of a perspective issue, this will help me as I slowly work thru all the information ☺ I do wish I had a larger screen to see the options you select more clearly, but experimenting is helping me figure it out. Thanks again. Very useful, clear, and intense information.
Thanks Ramon! And thanks Krita team! I know there is the wrong place for that, but let me see if you agree: 1- each instance of the assitant tool - I mean each vanish point, each elipse, each parallel ruler, each...) should have one different collors by default, because at the end you "always" change the "default" gray collor. 2- the "horizon line" of the assitant could have a thiker stroke than the rest of the lines 3- each handle could be different, like one filled another outlined because they have different functions, make sense they appear different too. The same for all kind of assistant tool. I know this is useful only for begginers (like me) but it could make Krita even more friendly for new users.
Thanks a lot for the feedback. Could you share these ideas in krita-artists.org? this way all the Krita team can see them and analize them if needed. You tube comments for that purpose is complex and Krita values a lot that community behavior :) Oh! and we are all beginners in some point ;) //RM
@@KritaOrgPainting It would be interesting to learn more about constructing shadows using Krita. In particular, shadows that fall away from the viewer, i.e. when the sun is behind the viewer.
This is a truly wonderful feature and works great once you change the snapping shortcut as you show. Great to draw along as the grid tracks the brush too, literally a whole new dimension :)
I was a long time wondering how to use those vanishing point handles, so thank you for taking the time to explain it all in detail, also the divide sections trick, so simply demonstrated, Krita has tools but we don't often have enough explanations of them because the user base is still smaller than other apps.
This is incredibly useful. I still suffering a lot to get spatial awareness with my Drawing Tablet (it does not has screen), and learning perspective on it is a nightmare since is hard to connect two points with the brush. This tool really help a lot, thank you very much Krita Team \o.
@14:39 You can also draw a front perspective rectangle divided as you wish, then use the "Transform Layer or Selection" tool to 3D rotate it against the wall in perspective. I find it faster to draw it straight on and move it like this. Particularly for a sketch layer.
This really does help. A year or so ago I started creating art in the digital format and the first and only program I have used is Krita. I have mostly done a lot of portrait work and some full body character work, and a couple of logos, but have yet to delve into actually creating backgrounds or buildings, but I have really wanted to give it a try and these instructions are really going to help make it less challenging.
Love it! I do think more would be good. In particular, combining vanishing points with the perspective grids, as well as making the perspective influence for brushes work with vanishing points. Otherwise, it's great!
The tips were very helpful. Especially I like the one with the far away vanishing point in the height, but it was hard to pick the best tip. All of them very good. Thx a lot!
Awesome! Would love to see a video on using these ruler tools in a video version of the "perspective projection" articles on the Krita docs! Looks like magic...
I like seeing this program having tutorials and upcoming FREE updates I have photoshop installed , but i'd rather use Krita because 1)unlike photoshop which was originally made to edit photos , Krita was made for drawing 2) Krita has animation , and i like animating 3) the white plant-girl splash art for Krita is enough to make me choose it over other apps xD I bought a drawing tablet yesterday , and i barely know how to hold it's pen or anything in art but i want to learn how to draw characters in order to write and publish FREE educational stories in the future as a hobby , and i think Krita is easier and is best choice for my simple non-advanced needs
Big thanks for this video, I have been making extensive use of the perspective tools of late because one of my year end goals has been to really learn perspective in great depth. I didn't know you could align the VP assistance with the guides so I've been eyeballing it all this time😂. I also had no idea of what those handles did. Really thanks for this because I don't think any of this is documented in the manual, unless I some how missed it.
Glad it was helpful! remember you can lock the guides too, but assistant is still snapping to. Krita has lot of things to be shown yet. The manual is great docs.krita.org/en/user_manual/painting_with_assistants.html enjoy it //RM
Wonderful tuto ! I actually am very interested in perspective, especially complex curvilinear one (4, 5, 6 vanishing points). I certainly would be glad to see a tutorial, here, on the subject.
I use Carapace software to find the vanishing point when they are to far. Thanks for showing me that Krita can do the same with these handles 😅 Excellent video as always
MY GOSH AMAZING!!! Now do scenarios is sooo much easy THANK YOU! I was using Maya to block the pespective to draw in photoshop, with this iin Krita s so much better!
Ive been using Krita since 2018 and.. not gonna lie- i didn't know it had a perspective tool built in. Heck I didn't realize you could use the ruler to draw straight lines. I thought it just gave you measurements.
Another great video! I get all tangled up in perspective guides. Will you do some interior perspective vids too? My worst problem is getting realistic guides
Thanks for this very useful video! The piece of advice on how to perfectly align two vanishing points on the same line was new to me. Great! But I wonder, why can't Krita automatically create a horizon line if there are >2 vanishing points...
Hi to all! Has anyone faced with a problem when you use the assistant tool and you cannot zoom in? It seems like the canvas is just being covered with an additional non-transparent black layer so you can not see what's going on behind it. This black "layer" disappears when you zoom out to 50% or less. Can anyone help? (I doubt it's a hardware issue, NVIDIA RTX 2060 should handle with such calculations easily) I'd be grateful if someone could share the solution.
Please consider re-doing this for Krita version 5, or at least creating a short patch for what exactly to do to get the tool to work as intended? I tried to follow what you said here, maybe I'm too ignorant but the tool seems to work differently? I probably just haven't learned enough yet. I'll come back another time.
@@KritaOrgPainting it is not a question of what isn't working in your video, it is that the tool behaves differently in version 5 to the point that I cannot understand how to follow along at all with the steps in your tutorial.
