This menopausal is not a joke! It’s really draining me out! I have been going through it since age 39 and now 45. It is crazy I don’t go in the elevator, I don’t go out, I don’t want to talk to anybody, I get angry when my phone rings, I was once suicidal, I have added weight like crazy. I am so withdrawn from social gatherings. At this stage of our lives we need love and support from our love ones. Thanks for this ❤❤❤
Thanks, Cori! I started perimenopause at 39 and had to start taking progesterone supplements at 42. I just didn't feel like myself and my moods were erratic and the brain fog was real. Female family members kept telling me I was too young but I listened to my own intuition and got blood work done. Glad I didn't keep on plugging through it.

@@trysha8566 I am not entirely sure what it's called but she specifically had a blood draw for progesterone and estrogen levels. I found the sweet spot of 50 mg per day and it has really balanced everything. She just has me do blood work every year to reassess.

I started menopause at 47 ... during the COVID lockdowns. I have packed on nearly 20 pounds and I'm miserable. It seems like nothing is working to help me drop the weight, ugh!
Thank you for talking about this topic that all us women go through sometime in life. I am 55 years old and I have one week to go before I am officially menopausal! In the years leading up to menopause, I have dealt with cycles that are longer, shorter, heavier and lighter. I have noticed my body has changed and I carry weight differently even though I workout regularly. Sleep? What is sleep anymore? Lol. One thing that I notice is that increasing my protein, cutting back on carbs, and doing less intense cardio has kept my weight stable. I regularly lift weights, go for walks and ride my bike. Can I say that I welcome menopause? I have suffered many years with PMS and since I don’t have periods anymore I feel so much better. I look forward to the next phase of life!
Our body and needs are constantly evolving! I always like to get clients even tracking what they are currently doing to make small changes to see what helps them feel best!

That's a great topic, and even when menopause is "caused" by a surgery or health concern, we often will still find these things helpful just triggered by a different experience. Thank you for putting out quality info! Wondering what impact menopause will have on my mental health disorders? I have bipolar 2, IED, PTSD and anxiexty. Also had PMDD which has subsided over the years. I take meds and counseling. Just curious if these disorders can come back or get worse with menopause? As always great pod! Have a nice day Cori!
My opinion is yes it can. It's really ramped up my depression and anxiety. Now I get major panic attacks out of nowhere. I would suggest keeping an eye on everything and contacting your doctor if symptoms become worse.
@@k2play1 thanks for the response! I have a counseling session today and will bring up my concerns about it. Ive made so much progress in the last few years! It worries me to go back to where I was mentally... PMDD was terrible! Every month around the 14th day of my cycle I was a mess! Massive breakdowns and self loathing. Hours of sobbing... I do not want to go through that again... Have a nice day!
@@BEARTHEWEIGHT920 it's really different for everyone. I also had PMDD. 1 good week out of the month. I had a partial hysterectomy. Only 1 ovary remains. So it could be completely different for you. But it's a great idea to talk to your Doctor about your concerns. Good luck to you. 🙂
The hormonal changes can really impact anxiety and mood. Knowing this I would definitely recommend you even have a discussion about this with your support system as I feel the more we plan and acknowledge struggles proactively the better everything goes :-)
Menopause is the most dangerous time for a woman. Those high deaths in eating disorders, for the most part, occur during menopause. Same for drug addiction, same for alcohol addiction. For me, perimenopause symptoms mimic the severe, chronic anorexia symptoms I had when first going into it - which makes sense, I would have been losing my estrogen then too - and being aware of that, I'm hoping, will get me through. You have to take care of yourself, and you must prioritise your physical and mental health and well being. It's hard, I know
I'm 50 and had a hysterectomy at 46. I still have my ovaries though. Have hade a terrible time trying to lose weight over the past decade. I need to lose roughly 60 lbs
Small changes add up! And I can tell you that tracking your current diet to make small changes to your macros can really make a difference. Here's a blog on macros to help - redefiningstrength.com/fhp-s2e21-starting-to-count-macros-5-tips-for-beginners/
This is good to know. I've been experiencing these symptoms since I had my partial hysterectomy (@36) and thought that my hormones would balance out (I'm almost 40 now) but it hasn't happened. My body feels sluggish, so overweight, and tired, and I've been so anxious and sad lately. I love carbs and have a difficult time digesting proteins and fats. Any advice on this?
Talking to your doctor is always key. And I'd recommend you start tracking what your current diet really looks like, even your water intake. The more we have that clear picture of what we're doing, the more we can focus only on the small changes we need. Then small changes in even types of foods or even a few more grams of protein, could be enough to start helping. Also focus on that strength work! And, not to sound pushy, but if you are looking for some help and an outside perspective to really assess your current diet and workout routine, I do have a fabulous coaching program ;-) redefiningstrength.com/private-coaching/

Well I’m doing some things right. But my legs have lost so much muscle I trip over things a lot now. My hips are getting stiff as well. Ugh
Loved this info. I try to minimize liquids in the evening...what do you think about Tart Cherry Juice in pill form. Would it have the same effect?? Thanks so much
I hate seafood, though...i started taking fish oil to try to help with memory, but i suppose it’s even more important now to make sure i take those pills every day, and probably bump up to twice a day...

Who has a good food journaling method/app? I have such a struggle with tracking everything when it comes to"handful of nuts and dried fruit" type things
I use these three apps most with clients - My Fitness Pal, LoseIt and Cronometer. But I do recommend clients starting out focus on weighing that handful when they take it to get more accurate measurements and a better understanding of how they're fueling. Although there are hand portions you can use to eyeball portions eventually, that weighing can help you really better know how to "estimate."

Many of us have done some dieting and training practices that we've seen "add up." BUT the great part is we can make changes at any time! Here's another video to help! redefiningstrength.com/menopause-2/
Thank you very much in my pre menopause it helps me a lot to be in your program it is very helpful to be in a program that is complete I recommend💯🦄♥️
You're amazing beastette! Love how you've been running with all of the tools you've been given!
Thank you Cori!
I am 65, and I think that I'm still getting certain symptoms, such pain in my elbows and knees my knees is slightly swollen , all on one side of my body, as a person which is alway active, it really bothers me that my energy level is slowly down, I'm not over weight. I getting frustrated with myself.
Great information. Thank you❤❤❤
I just moved from Perimenopause to Menopause. Any tips for keeping weight off during menopause would be great! What are your thoughts on taking electrolytes everyday? I love the dark hair!
Thank you! So really what we do in perimenopause is what we need to CONTINUE to do through menopause. The earlier we start, the better! Here are more tips for menopause too - redefiningstrength.com/menopause-2/
It's hard, I know
Great info!
Wow, don’t know if I have the right conversion to liters, but 50% of body weight in ounces appears very low. 70% seems a lot closer to the general recommendations that I would normally get in Germany or Switzerland, but still lower.
If you're drinking more great! :-)
Yep, 50% seems low! I drink close to double that plus 4 to 6 cups of tea throughout the day
I began at 32 and now at 55 am finally spat out the other end, aside from being hot throughout the early morning
Thank you....❤
What about the amount of water post menopause?
I have one/two 8oz cups of coffee then move to water for the rest of the day.
That 70% of bodyweight in ounces is still a really good starting point even post-menopause.
Well I’m doing some things right. I started taking fish oil, b 1 and b 12, I eat over night oats for breakfast with Greek yogurt, soy milk., honey, strawberries, blueberries, and blackberries most mornings now. But my legs have lost so much muscle I trip over things a lot now. My hips are getting stiff as well. Ugh
Loved this info. I try to minimize liquids in the evening...what do you think about Tart Cherry Juice in pill form. Would it have the same effect?? Thanks so much
Same here. I just bought the tablets for the very same reason, but not sure if the effect will be the same. Testing them out…
The majority of studies done on tart cherry use juice show similar outcomes using either juice or powder form 😊🍒
@@redefiningstrengthOC Thank you!!💝 I’ve been testing the tablet form the last 5 days and they do work wonders so far 😄
I hate seafood, though...i started taking fish oil to try to help with memory, but i suppose it’s even more important now to make sure i take those pills every day, and probably bump up to twice a day...
I need help in meals for menopause…is there a video I should watch? A place where u already have a meal put together.
Dr said my metabolism lowered due to PeriMenopause
. Age 49.
Metabolic adaptations can be reversed and so much of what we see as age or hormone related metabolic decline is actually previous dieting and training practices "adding up." This blog may interest you - redefiningstrength.com/how-to-increase-metabolism-at-any-age-6-tips/
I will be in menooause by Nov if I do not have a period. My problem will be menopause, PCOS and APC gene. So confusing on best diet. I am active, healthy weight, muscles, drink quite a bit of water, but seeing the mid section getting flabby and bigger.
I never had menopause, but I'm sure this is good advice.
It's got some good tips still that are relevant to improve your sleep no matter what ;-)
My mother had been eating more fruits since starting menopause
Watermelon and honeydew melon🍉
Hormonal imbalance is killing me. She won’t take anything for it either. The smallest trigger creates an extreme response, an overreaction.
So how much water should we be drinking? I've always had half a gallon a day. How much more should I drink?
In the video I recommend the calculation 70% of your bodyweight in ounces.
I'd love to get more omega 3s but I'm allergic to fish. And I can't find any conclusive information on what supplements are safe.
Things like flaxseed, chia seeds, edamame, walnuts and such can be a good option from a plant-based source.
What about fasting ? There's a lot of talk about fastingv and how to fast for perimenopausal. What do you think
Can manopause symptoms of depression, anxiety, not feeling good mood, lethargy happens anytime? I'm 63 n experiencing all these now.
Who has a good food journaling method/app? I have such a struggle with tracking everything when it comes to"handful of nuts and dried fruit" type things
Myfitnesspal
I use these three apps most with clients - My Fitness Pal, LoseIt and Cronometer. But I do recommend clients starting out focus on weighing that handful when they take it to get more accurate measurements and a better understanding of how they're fueling. Although there are hand portions you can use to eyeball portions eventually, that weighing can help you really better know how to "estimate."
I love Cronometer because it lets me add recipes and divide them up into however many portions I get. That's the paid version, worth every penny!
What is the best dupplement gor perimenopause?
Interesting, wil try, i think im there lol
Im 39 and at the age of 32 i came off my sertraline ( antidepressant) my period cycle was 45_60 days where before it was 28 days like clock work. The period were so heavy and lasted 3 weeks to 1 month at a time. At 36 i had transvaginal scans and told i have a thick womb but doctor didnt do anything. I was put on to mirtazipine ( another antidepressant) ive put on loads of weight now 13st . My periods are still the same). Ive been trying to convince baby number 10 for years and doctors said im too young for peri menopause. I know ani depresseants cause longer cycle and heavy periods but am i perimopause or just medication mimicking it maybe ?
I'm in perimenopause
Oh…this might explain a few things 😞
I wish if that conversation translated to arbic
Coffee no good
👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍
😎
I Can't believe you told people diet coke is not that bad. You lost me as a follow.
It seems like you missed the point of the video! I said in the very first sentence it's not good for you. The video pointed that the latest fear mongering was overblown. MASS Research just put out a great piece on this: www.strongerbyscience.com/aspartame-and-cancer-risk/
I've never had a period. Im a guy transitioning to a woman. If I dont get a period how will I know if its menopause?
Honestly it’s hard enough being a women naturally going menopause and I’m fit and healthy my whole life. Why on earth you guys think you would be better of as women doing this unnaturally you have to be crazy honestly. You really should really rethink your plans
You'll *never* experience menstruation or menopause.
No uterus/fallopian tubes/ovaries, no period or cessation of.
Transitioning…you will not go through what born females go through. Not possible.
You are a man and always will be. 😂
You covered the topic wonderfully, with such details. 😃🪷.
Thank you Cori!
