Your experience shows; you kept such a level head when the goats and rams all tried to burst out at once. Great set-up. It's all coming together now and you'll be settled before you know it.

They are SO naughty! But most animals won't freak out and run if you stay calm. Even when I lost the ewes across the field, they soon let me get near them again. Gotta love them. 😍

Well Dome on getting that bargain fencing.
Geoff I was crying laughing when the boy goats came out for their turn and they got the food in the bucket , that was brilliant .
What a productive week you're having. Massive well done, that was such a good video 💖💖💟

Thank you for another interesting and informative video. Your animals look like they have settled in very well. The sheep looked so chilled being out and grazing. So glads things are going well for you, Best wishes

Have missed your update videos so much. A tip with your tether peg, place it closer to the corner, put into the ground and angle away from the fence 45 degrees in the other direction then secure into the ground. You will notice two things, one the ropes do not stick out as far and you trip over them less and the other is that the string does not pull the peg out of the ground over time as they are not going in the same direction. but the opposite direction. My scout son taught me this!

Your tethers are to long/to close together, they get tangled in eachother.
More then just touching noses shouldn't be possible.
One line in any form doesn't work to great either. Line needs to be stiff enough so they don't get wrapped up in it themselves. Piece of pvc pipe helps to teach them to step over, but best option is a chain between 2 posts/pins and a shorter than half length line attached in the middle (baling twine will work, just pull a piece of waterhose over it to make it stiff).
And when tethering, a shorter line and daily moving is better option for hygiene. A water bucket far enough from the pin that they can just reach it (or at one pin when working with two) is usefull. It just needs to be at the end of the tether so the rope doesn't knock it over (doesn't prevent the goat from doeing it, but the chances are less).
Horns and electric nets are a pain and always will be (one reason i picked shetlands rather than soay).
Sheep and training to a bucket or something else is tricky, goats train much easier. For sheep good fencing and routine work better. So think about moving sheep into a small area for feed avery day if only to make catching easier. Also, being able to pet your sheep says zip about being able to catch them. Although here horns are a plus.

Good advice on the tethering. I'm only putting them this close at the moment as they're in a training and go mental if they're too far apart. Once they're content come out, I'll put them farther apart.
I've always found bucket training sheep to be very easy. My previous flock were all bucket trained and it made life so much easier!

What breeds do the goats have in them (apart from the obvious AN)? They’re all gorgeous!

They are SUCH a rum mix. There's some Boer and some pygmy and as spotted, AN. My girls that are coming soon are pedigree AN though. :)
