This is a complex keyboard with an old interface, but looking at it from the price point it can be a great great tool for learning sequencing and arranging. And with the input and output options given alot can be done. Initially I was looking to get a korg MAR 1. but then settled for this only bcz I am getting those arrangement features on a budget. it's not a Synth but a ROMpler, but gets the work done under a budget. I've been following your channel and videos for a long long time, infact before finding your channel there was not much material showing the capability of this nifty board. Saw those tutorials and finally settled for this. In India we have a localized version called CTK 7300 IN. it only has a few extra rhythms and some localized tones, rest is very much the same keyboard and same software running inside. Thank you for doing these tutorials, hope to see more content from you.
We have to call this board a synth because of the editing of tones and styles, and the creation of patterns. While the editing is not deep synthesis it is not a sample playback keyboard. I would not have purchased this board without the editing capabilities.
funnzie same here, saw what it can do. And saw your videos and made up my mind. yes, your right in a sense that it can't generate new waveforms from scratch but it can mold existing ones. And today I was looking at those music presets, it has alot of them, and few are extremely handy.
hey can we create our own presents? bcz If I press the user rhythm button on the music preset mode, it shows T: Stereo Grand Piano and R:Techno Pop. can those things be programmed with chords to create user presets for songs? that would be great. I don't remember anything like that from the manuals. but it's alot of info to sort through, so asking you.
Our own user tones and user styles along with mixer settings, and layers, appegiator, splits and rhythm controller is...All stored in a bank and registration. We cannot name these, so we will have to create a chart so we know where we stored these settings. The bank/registation/ storage is a complete storage solution for an entire performance setup.
your videos are of great help..thank u very much from INDIA........i hope u continue making these great videos..maybe next time throw some light on drawbar organ mixer..thanks again :)
Thank you so much for making this video. It was helpful to me for recording. But I have one problem while recording. It only records a 4 measure pattern that loops forever and can't record the next part of the song. What I do is slow down the tempo a lot and try to put in the notes at their original speed to get more time before the sequence ends. Is there any other possible way without slowing down the tempo? and thanks once again.
The Casio will record up to 16 measures and any time signature/tempo when you create your own style from a blank program. 16 measures for variation, intro's and ending's, but only 2 measures for fills. The measure length must be specified before recording, you can't change the length after you record your first track.

Hola amigo tengo un teclado casio wk 7600 necesito usarlo como midi por USB tipo B que puedo hacer ¿ cuales son las configuraciones del piano y del computador ? Necesito ayuda
I have owned a XW-P1 for 7 years, I know it well and have an entire video series on it too! NO, it is a totally different sequencer, and cannot erase the same as the WK7600. Both the WK and XW have strong points and weak points in sequencing. I liked the pattern sequencer on the WK so much that I just bought a Casio MZ-X500 to supercharge my sequencing.
Is there anyway to start with pre-programmed drum track (exp. Fusion) and then add my own instrumentation? I am trying to do this and I am doing something wrong.
I have given this keyboard to a friend and cannot check on your request. I would try going to the mixer function and see if you can replace instruments. You would first have to be able to save the "fusion" style in your own personal preset.
Thanks for the videos they've been a big help... I've played and recorded on the keyboard the main bass line to the doors song riders on the storm and I want it to play in a loop over and over again while I play the right hand parts along with it but the problem is there's a slight pause when it plays and begins the loop again. It throws the timing off. Any help would be appreciated.
You are welcome! Check your quantize setting, if playing live into the Casio you must be accurate within the quantize parameters set. There is step recording too, but I have not attempted this feature yet. So if the bass line you are performing has note values no greater than 8th notes, set the quantize to that timing. Also, slow down the tempo while you record, then speed back up to the proper tempo for play back.
funnzie thanks for your reply. Sorry I just want to clarify that I'm not playing any instruments into the keyboard I'm just playing the bass line on the keyboard using the organ bass sound setting. You said playing live into the Casio so I wasn't sure what you meant there and if your suggestions would be different.
Yes, live means playing the casio keyboard with a metronome and playing the notes in ..in time, as opposed to step recording setting note values for each step.
I've finally given up. I can get the bass part I want recorded without the pause but then when I save it and play it back the key is changed. Accompaniment has to be on which I think is causing the key changes. I have to hit the keys on the left to get the recording to play instead of just hitting play like the preset rhythms. I'm done. Thanks for the input but I done wasting my time on this. It shouldn't be this hard. A looping guitar pedal is like...press record, play, stop and play back...easy. This thing is nonsense.
This whole video instruction is mind blowing. Tops to this Casio model and, of course, the amazing instructor!
Thank you so much! These videos are my way of giving back to our community of musicians, so glad to see they are helping.

I wonder if this trick works on the XW G1 and P1?

Remember all pattern sequencing must be done in the key of C major only, this is the only way the Casio can then accompany with any chord you choose.
