The only way to increase Skill Hunter would be to steal nen from the dead. If Chrollo can extract post mortem nen, that'd make him an absolute threat to humanity. Perhaps that includes people like Hisoka whose nen was largely upgraded after dying. Hisoka may currently have aura that falls into that category of mortem nen. Regardless, that's my theory: upgrade Skill Hunter to be able to steal post mortem nen.
I believe that his new evolution of bandit secret will be that he can use abilities of anybody that have been in the book regardless of if they're alive or not.
There a difference between having ultimate mastery of his skill hunter in the way that it's fully upgraded and as efficient as it can be and mastering every hatsu in his book/filling it uom

I suppose the difference is that he was ready to do so, had he not died immediately. Bit how Gon reached his pinnacle of power using a pact, but only struck a few punches. The classification of Meruem at ultimate changes how we should think of Chrollo as a genius, and what it would take for him to reach his potential as well. This also makes me think of "What would HxH characters aptitude rankings be?" as a video idea. @manganimistYT
Skill hunter does not bypass the current limitations of category efficiency. He mostly steals conjuration and manipulation abilities, because he is a specialist. I think a potential upgrade he is looking for is to give him 100% access to efficiency in all categories of nen.
i think he can currently use whichever ability he wants to its 100% if that was not the condition i think then the cost of stealing an ability is too great it might not be balanced then the ultimate lvl maybe that he can craft one more hatsu and for that he needs those artifacts and stealing them is not an easy task

Hence why he rarely is seen using abilities far away from specialist, especially in combat. The only one he has used thats far away is the teleportation ability, which is most likely emission. He would only be able to use that ability at 60% effiency.
@@Needlesse I understand your point but there is something that Chrollo plays around with most hatsus even if theoretically he should be using them only at 80/60% efficiency. And that is the very understanding of the original owner's nature. He explicitly said this to Hisoka and how Skill Hunter's most interesting part is to basically force him to understand someone else's nature, in order for him to find key-points to play around with the restrictions of the hatsu. One of the examples are Kortopi's gallery fake, that doesn't allow the puppets to follow orders as "kill" because it might interfere with the nature of the puppet itself, resulting in ignoring the order. My point is, even if Chrollo might not be able to use specific hatsus at 100% efficiency, his very understanding and intelligence finds tricks to play with the hatsu, he use them better than the original owner.

because of the nature of Chrollo's power, there is no way for him to ever reach the true pinnacle of skill hunter. Even with the way it works right now, we the viewers could plug in the controller and develop some new convoluted strategy where he can realistically bring back Gojo with the powers he has theoretically available right now. It's just too open ended of an ability for him to have explored *everything* that he potentially could do, and perfect it all. He achieves all of his goals or dies before his full potential and all of the combinations could ever be explored.

How it would probably work is, He probably would be able to fully copy and steal someones ability with no drawbacks, or them being dead wont erase the ability out his book. I wanna say nen mastery would be using abilities hes already lost or "forgotten" with no drawbacks due to the host being dead. Ging can do all this naturally, like second nature though, a natural reflex, with no Requirements, Prequisets, or Setup. Bungee Gum and Texture Surprise 💀💀💀🤣😂😂😂 and it STILL Didn't get the job done😂😂😂 now he can't even use the same strategy against hisoka. Skill Hunter is cool, but it's really flawed and easy to take advantage of, IMO. Skill Hunter really only shines when it has the element of surprise. Him over explaining his ability to hisoka will probably be his downfall I've seen people make the argument that Skill Hunter has Prequiset Requirements that MAKE him explain the ability in order for it to activate, which kinda doesn't make sense, and would be an even worse restriction for a heavily restricted ability already.
What Hunter Association star system rating (one star, double star, triple star) Would you give each member of the phantom troupe? And what do you think they'd be hunting assuming they were not motivated solely to find Sarasa's killers. Please include Hisoka and the dead spiders.
bit of a stretch but what if the "national treasure" is the kurta clan eyes that Tserrie is keeping? What if the ability he wants to steal is kurapikas judgement chain so he can stop Hisoka from using nen? So maybe the condition to using judgement chain is having emperor time with the eyes?

I think ultimate level isn’t so much reaching the pinnacle (which i don’t think exists in hxh) so much as it is nen mastery that can handle life conditions for an exchange of power, as each (-1) has that qualification (zero hand, aura absorption, adult gon, nanikas game) only zeno doesn’t fit this category to best of my understanding. It should also mean that Komugi is an ultimate level too but I don’t know if she’s ever realized as a nen user. Like I said I don’t think any character has limits especially considering the dark continent could infinitely make hunters more powerful as they grow in strength when they are chasing something.
I think that the condition to steal a national treasure is a nen contract with his ability to be able to steal a stronger ability that he has to meet every time not a condition to upgrade skill hunter.
Is it narratively realistic for hisoka to be revived and rematch chrollo just to lose again? Hisoka and kurapika will end the phantom troop, hisoka will survive but be furnished off by illumi so the contract will be complete

Kurapika’s emperor time limit on lifespan was added recently so when he made his tiers he may not of thought of this honestly.
