    I'm still fairly new to chrocheting. I'm making this sweater for my great grandson for Christmas. Your video and instructions were good except you didn't explain how to stitch the front and back together, I didn't know the mattress stitch, had to go to another site to find out how it was done, that was the only problem I encounter with your video. I'm hoping it turns out and hopefully my grandson will like it 🤗

  • @kathlynp.6697

    Crocheting an XL right now. The part where you attach the yarn two stitches next to the neck line seems wrong, since you end up with 13 stitches at the end since you lose that stitch. And somehow I ended up with 21 inches as length of the vest. Maybe in the initial 'repeat until 15 or 16 inches long' make it 1 inch longer for larger sizes?
    Otherwise, almost done. Will update once it's done. Overall, loving how it looks and I can't wait till it's done and I can wear it!
    :)
    Update: ok, so I finished it and remeasured. Maybe it's just different gauges? I did use 4 weight yarn, but the length of the vest ended up being 21 inches, with 6 rows in the written pattern on top of the 'v' to be too short.
    I still love the vest! I think i'll just add more rows, so maybe 1-2 inches more, to adjust the length, and it should be fine.

      @mikisherogamo 2 роки тому

      I had a similar problem working on the neckline. 13 stitches are way too little for the XL, and it makes the neckline wider than ideal, thus, revealing a lot of skin. It's too late for me to go back since I already finished making the vest, but I did learn a lot.
