    Thank you for such a clear and easy video tutorial! I had fun creating this piece! The instructions on the sizes are super helpful. I made one in XS and now I want to make in a large as well. It's so easy to adjust the size in this pattern.

    If I wanted to add more ribbing length on the arm trim, would I do the decreases every time? Say I want like 4-6 more rows.

    • @StephanieTashi
      @StephanieTashi  10 місяців тому

      Hi 😊If you want it to stay flush to your body then yes you would need to keep adding decreases but maybe not quite as many. Though that would make the armhole smaller. Depending on how big your arm hole is to start that might be fine though! If you try it and it starts pulling too tight, try adding fewer decreases each time. If you don’t want the armhole to get smaller, you could add rows without decreases, but it won’t be flush to your body, the underarm part will probably stick out. Potentially you could use a smaller stitch like slip stitch in the underarm portion and the regular stitch going over the top of your shoulder, but without trying, it’s hard to say. Hopefully this helps a bit! 🥰

    I'm normally a size M but I'm wondering if following this will give me the coverage in the from I need :/ got to the decreases in the front panel and it looks a bit narrow to be able to cover my whole chest .... would I need to size up to Large for a 34D chest?

    • @StephanieTashi
      @StephanieTashi  3 місяці тому

      Oh no! Once the trim is added it will be about 2cm wider on each side so an extra 4cm in total. But if that won’t add enough room making a large would give more coverage. The other option would be if you wanted to make the chest part bigger but not the bottom part, you could stick with the medium but do less rows with decreases. Just make sure that for every row you don’t do the decrease, you add that afterwards as a straight row to keep the same row count 😊 and it also wouldn’t matter if you want to do the back panel a bit differently/as is as long as it’s the right number of rows!
      I hope this helps, but let me know if you have any other questions 🥰🥰

      @@avnipatel7422hopefully the large works out 🤞And it might be better anyway because this vest isn’t particularly stretchy! Yay I’m so glad you like the tutorial 🥰🥰🥰

    I started my best size M but my chest size after the under arm decrease is too small for my body 🙈 what should I do? Can I do less decreases under the arm to have a larger t front panel or start over?

    • @StephanieTashi
      @StephanieTashi  7 місяців тому

      Hi! I think it would work to do less decreases under the arm to make the panel wider 😊 the ribbing will also be added along the sleeves and that’ll be a few cm either side so hopefully that helps too!

    Hello, you said to work on the ripping pane till the band is long enough to go halfway around your body. Do you mean around the waist or chest?

    • @StephanieTashi
      @StephanieTashi  Рік тому

      Hi! Sorry I should have clarified in the video! It depends a little on how tight you want the vest to be. My ribbing is only a little tighter than the rest of the vest so if you want it quite tight and fitted I would use your waist measurement! But if you want a bit more room/for it to hang a bit then your bust measurement is best 😊 I hope this helps! But let me know if you have any more questions 🥰

  • @user-jt5gd3hi6l
    @user-jt5gd3hi6l 8 місяців тому

    Hii I love this design so much!! One question I had was that I did the front panel with medium sized measurements but I found that it was too big so would it work out if I do the back panel with the small measurements?

    • @StephanieTashi
      @StephanieTashi  8 місяців тому +1

      Hi! Thanks so much 🥰🥰 Yeah I think that would work! It will mean the top part of the back panel is more narrow that the top part of the front but that’s probably fine! Some tops are like that anyway! it will also mean that the top of the shoulder might not quite line up though. But I don’t think it would be too far off that you couldn’t stitch it up anyway.
      If you wanted it to be a bit more even though, you could ignore the flat portion under the arms. So making the small size, but instead of doing the five stitches flat under the arm, just start the decreases straightaway. It’ll make the armhole slightly smaller, but make the top part of the back panel more even. Just depends what you feel like you need - the bigger arm hole or the more even panels 😊 I hope this helps! 🥰

    • @StephanieTashi
      @StephanieTashi  9 місяців тому

      Hi! Yes for the ribbing each panel will need 76 rows if you’re using the same size yarn and hook as me 😊 but it also might help to check with the measurements too! 🥰

    Sorry but I'm so confused😭. For the front and back panels, you said to crochet 8 rows for the decreases which is equivalent to 3.5cm, but when the video skipped, yours looked like it was more than 8 rows

    • @StephanieTashi
      @StephanieTashi  10 місяців тому +1

      Hi! Sorry that that was confusing! I checked my pattern and my finished vest and it’s definitely 8 rows. I looked at that part of the video though and it does look like more than that! I think maybe the underarm portion curled over and made it look like a bigger section. I hope this clears it up 😊🥰

    What can be the measurement for a 7 year old and hook sizes too

    • @StephanieTashi
      @StephanieTashi  Рік тому

      Hi! From looking online it seems like a 7 year old is about 15% smaller than the XS measurements I provide so if you multiply each of those cm/inch measurements by 0.85 it should be about right. I cant be certain as I’ve never tried to make something this size before but hopefully it’s close! If you have an item of their clothes you could measure against that as well!
      For the hook size that will depend on the yarn you are using - I used 8ply yarn and a 4mm hook but if your yarn has a hook suggestion you could go with that! I hope this helps ☺️

    Hi do I have to do ribbing around my waist to see it fits

    • @StephanieTashi
      @StephanieTashi  Рік тому +1

      Hi! I think it would work fine without the ribbing 😊 you may need to leave a tiny slit on the side seams of the vest where you stitch the panels together because the chain row won’t be stretchy if you don’t do the ribbing and might be harder to get on. But if you don’t sew the chain rows together on the panels it should have a little give. Hopefully that makes sense!

    Did you cut the burgundy yarn when you switched colors and looped it back in when you switched back at the top?

    • @StephanieTashi
      @StephanieTashi  Рік тому +1

      Hi! No I didn’t cut the burgundy yarn but you could if you wanted to! Because I did an even number of rows for the stripes when I was ready to go back to the burgundy the tail that I left was on the same side I was working from so I just joined it back in. I made sure not to pull it tight though and just let it sit along the edge - then I made sure to cover it with the trim 😊 if you want to cut and rejoin though that would definitely work the same! Just depends on your preference. I hope this helps 🥰🥰

    Someone please help! I started the tutorial and without watching all the way through started the bottom band. The problem arrived when i rechecked my rows with your size chart and was shocked to see that my number of 160 was not in there even though I'm just an M size. Then i saw the video again and you said that the band is supposed to be only half your waist. WHAT DO I DO? and i cannot frog because the yarn has too many threads (even frogging a row would take a lot of time and energy). PLEASE HELPPPP....

    • @StephanieTashi
      @StephanieTashi  Рік тому

      Oh no! But yes definitely don’t frog your waist band! I have a few idea about how to modify it 😊 The first I think is the simplest and that would be to set your waist band aside and rather than stitching into the top of each row of the waist band do a chain. So you could chain up half the rows in you waistband (maybe an extra chain or two depending on how tight you want it) and then continue with the rest of the pattern as if it were connected at the waist band then you’d have the separate front and back panels and you could stitch them to the waistband at the end. The other idea is to do the stitches into your waist band going all the way around and have both your front and back panel up until the armpit in one big piece. You would need to turn around after each row though. Because the stitch pattern above the armpit is rows going back and forward you won’t be able to do the bottom half of the panels in the round because the stitches will look different so you would still have to chain up and turn around like normal, but you could do it in a big circle. Hopefully that makes sense but please let me know if it doesn’t!! 🥰🥰

I'm using a 3 mm hook, so my stitches are 100 but measure 44 cm/ 17in i.e. size small. So do i follow your exact no. of decreases or do i follow according to the xxl size measurements?

    if wanted to make it without ribbing on any of it, would i need to do anything to adjust it to make sure the arm and neck holes aren’t too large without the ribbing? 🩷

    • @StephanieTashi
      @StephanieTashi  9 місяців тому

      Hi! I only did ribbing on the bottom of the vest 😊 the neckline has one row of stitches around it and the arms holes have 2 rows of stitches around it. I don’t think leaving this off will make the neck and arm holes much bigger but it’s also what makes the edges look nicer, it kind of smooths it out. If you want it to be less noticeable maybe you could just do one row around each hole in the smaller stitch. The arm hole will be a bit wider but if you are worried about that you could do a couple of rows less for the decrease section at the arm pit 😊 I hope this helps 🥰
