I’ve seen quite a few videos of s plan wiring on UA-cam but none have provided such a clear and logical explanation as to the different components and how they link. Makes what can look like a jumble of wires pretty straightforward. Thank you for taking the time to make this
I will second this, you really have done a wonderfull job. Not every one can teach but you definitely can. While I'm here can I request that if you have time perhaps you could do different heating systems and their components, I'm particularly interested in an S plus system with an unvented tank. I would love to understan what components are involved and how they connect. Thanks.
I follow john ward and his videos are very simple and useful but i must admit this chap has made things so simple by easily breaking everything down. Amazing video thanks.
@@JPElectric great video jp, just one question, if I look at your drawing of the overview wiring. There is a live coming to the boiler from the junction just above it. What is that for? The live below the boiler is easy to identify as it goes directly to the 2 switched valves
@@johanburger6109 Thanks for the comment. Boilers often have a permanent live as well as a switch live. The permanent can be used to power the pump overrun function , which helps cool down the boiler. But it all depends on what boiler you have. So its very important to read the instructions for the boiler. But If you are wiring a system, I would alway make sure you have both a switched and permanent live to the boiler.
Hi, thank you so much for your very helpful and clear instructions, your diagrams and your explanations are so well broken down that I have at last understood how it all works!!! I have watched many other You Tube videos about S Plans before yours and they make it so much more complicated and I was never really confident I understood, but after watching your video it suddenly all clicked together. Many thanks and I just subscribed looking forward to other videos from you.
Brilliant, thank you so much for taking the time to do this, this is the clearest explanation of S plan wiring, and electrical wiring in general tbh, I have ever found.
Thank you very much for sharing your knowledge. Great video.. The UA-cam age gives us people like you , to break down the mystery of control wiring for a domestic Boiler.
Great video. I am about to carry this out. Do you typically remove the links and loops that come pre installed on a boiler. Many of them relate to other control methods that I don't believe are relevant when wiring an S plan.
Hi Thomas thanks for the comment. I can't really advise on specific wiring issues. as I don't have knowledge of your system. Some boilers do have links that are removed when a stat is installed for example. But I would advise caution. if unsure , contact a local heating engineer.
In the house I’m wiring it’s bungalow I’m using the s plan for heating I’m only using one time clock and I’m taking 2.5 swa from booster clock to the boiler is that the right way or am I missing something

Thanks Dan
brilliantly illustrated, thank you. I've always been petrified off any heating system other than a simple combi! so informative.
Thanks Andrew, really please you found it helpful
Thanks for the super clear video. Explanation / diagram of the two port valve workings is one of the best I've come across on UA-cam!
