- A quick overnight backpack hunt with Lewis from the UK. It's hot, there's heaps of flys but atleast there's a few deer getting about.

Awesome to see an international hunter with you, will be the 1st of several.
Yeah it was great to brake through that barrier Glenn. I can't handle any more interest is the problem. I am but one man and cannonly do so much, I need a sidekick to help guide 🤔
Great video Zeb! Was great to meet you at the MHF Expo. Thanks for the yarn & some solid advice 👍🏻
Always great to meet supporters in the flesh 👍 meet so many at Mansfield
Let’s goooooo!!!!
Good job, good effort Zeb, definitely in deer country seen some for the short
Looking forward to meeting you!
Thanks for your comment, Robin. I am looking forward to showing you and your wife some of the opportunities available in Australia 🇦🇺
Awesome warch mate, and well done
Cheers Hamish 👍 thanks for your comment
Good to see we are not the only silly buggers hunting deer in the warmer months🤗. Short little Aussie adventure for Lewis but I'm sure it's one he appreciated👍. Look forward to what unfolds in the year ahead.
It's funny, he messaged me saying he has unfinished business with Sambar deer. I thought to myself, how many hunters have said that after their first hunt and gone on to become absolutely addicted to hunting them. 😆
Good on ya Zeb, it’s going to be a great year for ya mate 👍🏻
Hope so!Justin 👍 thanks for ya comment 🙏
Lovely Ep and look around
Thanks Craig 👍
Interesting observation about them being on the north facing face. I was up in Shelley this weekend working the North East face thinking they would be on the south west side. I shot a young stag in velvet last night and this morning I saw a doe bedding down in the morning sunlight. It was around 35C mid-day and she would have been baking.
Yeah it goes against what I've read in some popular books. Seems they are more tolerant to heat than I thought
Unlucky gents, it least you gave it a crack.
Thanks Rob, despite no shots being fired, I felt like it was a great experience for someone having never been in the Victorian High country.
hey mate I don't know if UA-cam is doing this to anyone else here but I keep getting unsubscribed from your channel all the time . keep up the great work bud 👍
Yeah its a thing they do. Seems to be toward hunting channels
Genuine question since you're both covered with flies - would using insect repellent be picked up by deer and send them running, or is it perhaps beneficial in that it might mask some of the human scent? Great experience in trying conditions - enjoyed the video as usual.
Thanks for your comment, insect repellent will probably cover some human sent but not all. A deer would be equally cautious of either imo. If your wind is wrong then your sent will be picked up by deer down wind regardless of whether you have repellent on or not.
@Sal.G1989 I read somewhere that human scent will stay on the ground for up to 10hrs in direct sunlight strong enough for a bloodhound to follow
@@ZebrasSambarhuntingAdventures Thanks for the reply - most appreciated. I guess any unusual scent puts them on alert. Better to use the mesh over your head as you had on.
thanks for the vids.
@Sal.G1989 Thanks for the reply. I'll use the mesh covering to reduce being annoyed by flies.
