Hi guys, it's great to see familiar places on TA. I spend 3 months on TA 2018/19 season, it was the best time of my life. I started at Cape Reinga but skipped some parts of North Island between Auckland and Hamilton, finally reaching Queenstown. Every year I choose some yt channel of people doing TA to watch over winter, this year it's yours. This way I somehow can expierience it again. I hope you will reach Bluff in good shape. 90 miles beach, Whanganui river and Tongariro were the highlights of trail in North Island for me, Nelson Lakes in South. BTW I also flipped on the 50/50 as all the people in my group. Funny nobody flipped after us :) Greetings from Poland.
Hello! Im enjoying your experience of the TA; thank you for sharing. Those steps are very steep aren't they. The elevator is fun though, as is the weirdly long tunnel to get to it.
If you need a lift or any assistance when you are coming through Palmerston North just dm me. I can drop you at the trailhead start to save you some road walking if you want. I did the same with others the other day.
