I really appreciate your effort in making this video, I didn't know about this place until I saw your video! It's great for people who are working remotely and need a new environment to better enhance their productivity (you get it). I hope your channel continues growing as you make such meaningful content! 🥳
Thank you so much for your kind words of support Wena! Just checked out your amazing channel as well and I absolutely love the way you film and most of all, edit your videos. Keep it up! /subscribed!
Thank you so much for the information. It's really informative because I can make the informations as my references to do my assignment. Thank you once again.
Used to be my fave hangout but haven't been here for 10 years. Would love to frequent here again. I'm just wondering if I still have any unreturned books 🤭. Layout looks roughly the same but more colourful, more modern and stylish furnitures and bookshelves
Hi. Thank you for making this video. It is very helpful, even 3 years after you published it. I am doing the last spurt of my dissertation and need a place I can totally focus. I’m wondering about the parking space for those who drive. I saw a few cars parked on your right when you were walking towards the library. Do you know if that space is for dedicated for the library staff or can visitors use them too?
Most welcome. As for parking, yes there are but extremely limited. I suggest parking at nearby Plaza Dataran Merdeka which is just a mere 1min walk away or another option is Merdeka Square underground parking and walk for about 5mins. Have fun and be safe now!
Internet is free and there are many powerpoints outside on those long tables (middle of table and 4 seater table). It truly is a great place to work and study for sure.
I noticed that a cafe was listed on the sign in the lobby. Did you come across it while you were there? I'm just curious if it would be a good place to hang out and have a cup of coffee. I remember I talked about that building on a video not long ago. I walked past it and took some video of it, but I had no idea what it was. 😀 Back at my hostel when I had WiFi, I fired up Google Translate and I learned that perpustakaan meant library. I didn't even know it was a library until then. Any idea if foreign visitors would be allowed inside? Could a tourist sign up to be a member? I doubt that that would be possible, but you never know. My usual hostel is right beside this area, so it would be convenient. Though, to be honest, the whole "leave your bag at the door" policy is kind of a deal breaker for me when it comes to using the rooms as a workspace. As you pointed out, it's just not convenient considering all the gadgets and cords and adapters and portable drives and flash drives and whatnot you need to work on a computer. It's a beautiful place, though. I like it. By the way, which wide angle lens adapter did you get for your Osmo Pocket? I noticed that there are quite a few on the market. I definitely prefer the wider field of view you get. I'm kind of a wide field of view junkie. 🙂
There's a cafe on the 1st floor but I was told its not yet open for business but soon. As for foreigners to access, that is a very good question. I'm not 100% sure but I would say yes you can.
@@WanderEats From what I saw online, the Freewell version seems to be the best. It looks to be fairly convenient, too, in that you can just click it on magnetically. And it seems small and light. I guess it would have to be very small and light not to interfere with the gimbal mechanism of the Pocket. And your video was very stable, so it didn't seem to have any negative effects on the gimbal. To me, it seems like a must-have accessory for the Pocket, particularly for vlogging. 🙂
Sorry I can't recall about the type of books available as I went there to see if it was viable to work from the library. Do share if you visit, thanks so much!
Great question, I believe you can but if you want to be sure, I encourage you to email them here - kllibrary@dbkl.gov.my Do note that the library is currently open for renting and returning of books only.
What a nice place! The last time I was inside was in 2012 when I was working on some of my doctoral classes. It was a great place to work then and from what you showed in your video it looks even better now. I left Malaysia in 2020 because of the pandemic but am looking forward to returning very soon. It looks like I have a good place to work now that the library is opened.
Yes sadly no backpack. So bring along a large tote bag and you will be good. Sadly also no water bottles are permitted back then. I haven't been in a while so please do update if these 2 rules are changed or relaxed by the Library when you do visit. Thanks Chiam!
@@someguywithabirdface2583 - prior to the pandemic, yes they do allow but I am not sure about now. If you do go over, please check and share here for everyone's benefit... thanks buddy!
Hi there Adiana, I'm afraid you would have to call or write in to them and ask as the time I did this recording, it was some time ago and prior to the pandemic, a lot of things may have changed since then. You can reach them at: 03 - 2612 3500 or kllibrary@dbkl.gov.my
Hi there, that is indeed a very good question. Personally when I shot this video, I did not ask for permission but all the staff saw me recording so I guess it was ok. Perhaps you can check and confirm by replying here for the benefit of those watching this video?
That is a very good question from what I know you can but in this case, please don't take my word for it and please approach the counter to find out more. Do update here if you could or couldn't. Thanks!

Yes please do Mevius...wasn't expecting how lovely it was.
Wah cantik! Barulah semangat nak buat kerja 😂😂✌🏽
Dulu bawah area surau ada hantu. Skrg tak taulah. Pernah jumpa.
do we have to pay for the internet, and are there powerpoints outside the private rooms instead of booking a private room with powerpoint sockets?

For the wide angle lens, I recently bought the Freewell version which is arguably the best. So far I am loving it immensely.

Thanks for the suggestion and tip Malesa :)
how to get to kl library by public transport??
The cloest LRT station is Masjid Jamek and use Google Map direction to walk over from there. Hope that helps.
masuk untuk keahlian kena bayar brp..lepastu klu pinjam buku kena bayar ke
Semua pun tak payah (dulu lar, sekarang tak begitu sure sangat sebab pandemic kan?) sebab ianya adalah pustakaan awam

Aww... thanks so much Bill for the comment mate. Hope you return soon and continue with your vlog in Malaysia.
How can rent a book from there?
Hi Rezwan, are you referring to rent the book to take back home?
Is it true we are allowed to bring tote bag but not backpack? And can I bring a small bottle of mineral water?

Hi! Thanks for this video, very informative and interesting. One question, is there a whiteboard in any of the private rooms or can we request for it?

Do we need to pay membership?
No, just fill in your details and that's it
One more question. Do you notice any car parking there? :)
Yes but extremely few, like 6 bays I recall so I wouldn't suggest you drive there unless its super early
Thanks for your informations!
Most welcome
Could travelers become members?

I have life time member ship. In this library.....
oh wow... how much did that membership cost you Rasheed? Also is it still available for sign-up?
