Eminem’s pen is next level but the only argument that makes sense about him not being able to return to battle rap is stylistic differences. Battle rap evolves so much year by year and we’ve seen time and time again how hard it can be for old battle vets to return to the culture. There’s growing pains at the bare minimum (ex. Jae Millz, Cass, Soul Khan, Jin, and I’m sure there’s way more). Em comes from the freestyle era when battles were over beats at that. Stylistically it’s night and day from then til now. Whether Em could win or not doesn’t come down to his bars, he’s nice and everyone knows it. It comes down to how much he’s been keeping up with the battle rap culture tbh.
He gets the recognition but they don’t believe just because they didn’t see it like Proof and the rest of them from The D and Cali and All over the world. He give all these folks a lane
