    Salute to Cassidy. Punchline rappers before Cassidy;
    Grand Puba
    Lord Finesse
    Big L
    Jay Z (sometimes...alot back in the day)
    Chino XL
    Canibus
    Punchline and Wordsworth
    Kxng Crooked
    Eminem
    Salute to Daylyte...nothing personal; Chino XL and Big L may not be ignored.

      Punchline, Words, Chino XL, most definitely Big L and Lord Finesse were punchline rappers who punched back to back. Every 3 or 4 bars were punches. I love Cassidy; but nah...the difference is that Cassidy was the one who had more attention at a critical time. These artists I named are from a different era (before Cassidy, lol) but also from a different class; they were underground rappers but Cassidy was with Swiss and Ruff Ryders so he got more attention.
      Lord Finesse, Akinyele and L were punching like maniacs. You had to be there...or listen to their work. Just like Cass; they got joints where they talk about other shit and avoid punching but they still manage to do it...the underground rappers like Wordsworth became more positive and Chino XL had to change his style after Eminem blew up but Chino was always punching. That was their specialty...shit they were known for before Cassidy's appearance so Daylyt is wrong.
      I am not a new Hip Hop fan; I'm 41. I was 8 when discovered Puba and Finesse and they were punchline specialists. This is not an argument...Daylyt took a guess and just a little research would show you that he's wrong.

      @@MinistryB4IndustryThe Slim Shady Lp and The Marshall Mathers album were all back to back punching. Lord Finesse dropped like 3 to 5 albums of back to back to back punching and Big L is no different. Chino XL...every album but his first 2 dropped before Cassidy's first appearance. Those albums are receipts. 2 bar build ups then a punch or 3 bar build ups then a punch involving "Like" "As" etc to firm a metaphor or simile.
