- Welcome back to the teardown series where I take apart new and interesting pedals, and show you what's inside.
This week is the new EQ/Boost pedal from the UK tube amp manufacturers Rift Amplification, the EL34.
Enjoy!

Nice soldering! Nice video!
Nice! Reeves Electro referred to this style as 'dead bug wiring', gave me a chuckle.
Don't get me wrong, point to point stuff is really cool and I appreciate the artistry, but £249 for a single common emitter amplifier stage? Yikes.
People sometimes complain that cheep pedals with plastic enclosures are not durable, and they might have a point. But there’s is no way that this point to point nonsense is durable either, it’s a miracle that these things survive shipping.
I can appreciate that style of build but it must be rather time-consuming to build and an absolute nightmare to replace anything if something should fail. The transistor for example.
What pedals have you kept from your teardowns?
What would be the best way of DIY'ng this pedal?
An impressive lesson on how to sell $10 in components for $350!
Interesting pedal, I really like, how good it sounds and how it reacts with other pedals, or guitar just straight in.
I can appreciate the skill in constructing via point to point, but this is basically an Electra distortion they're selling with the PTP gimmick. Way way overpriced even considering the time it takes to construct.
EL34 without EL34
Soooo.... there is no EL34 inside. What a waste. Still nice p to p design.
