I had a forester.... cheap interior, didn’t last nearly as long as any Honda I ever had..... all sorts of issues with mine. Never again on Subaru...all wheel drive is the best, but I sacrifice everything else. Back home with a 2021 CRV. Bye Subaru
Well the CR-V basically had no changes either, yet here is a new video on it. The Passport at least has a new infotainment system (same as the accord, odyssey, ridgeline, and pilot) and the 8 inch screen is now standard across all trims. That’s more change than in the CR-V.
@@macmuchmore1 That's fair. On their page though, they haven't done a video over the CRV in over a year, vs the Passport they did a launch of their long term intro. I'm sure they will soon. I'm sure they get more views on the CRV review over a Passport though.

My friend just bought a Toyota Rav4. Quick question regarding that: is it normal for that (or other Toyotas) to have really laggy acceleration? When I step on the gas, at a stop or while moving, there's a (no joke) 1.5 second delay before the vehicle really gets moving. Feels like the transmitting is just really, REALLY slow.
They program their transmissions to get good gas mileage. The lower the rpm’s are, the better mpg . That’s how they act......unless you stomp on the gas.
I have a gas model RAV4 and find it to be jumpy off the line giving the impression it’s quicker however it is more lethargic vs the smoother and actually quicker CR-V which I also have however the MPG on the RAV4 seems to be better in city and highway driving.
@@tomdrummy4984 that's not what i mean. I mean if I were to stomp on the gas, ether while moving or at a stop, there is a solid 1.5-2 second delay between any meaningful acceleration. Seems like poor design rather than something to save fuel economy. But, maybe that's just me, since I don't really drive Toyotas, maybe I'm just not use to how sluggish their gas cars are... Also, I've been in cars that get just as good gas mileage (normal cars, not hybrids) and when I put my foot down in those cars, they get moving in less than a second.
@@mrTopherB13 makes sense. I just don't understand why there's a huge lag between stomping on the gas peddle and the car moving. Besides Toyota, almost every car I've been in, even ones that get really good fuel economy (that aren't hybrids) move when you put your foot on the gas peddle. Maybe there's a split second delay for downshifting, but never almost 2 entire seconds. It just seems like poor engineering rather than a intentional design to save fuel. I will agree, it does feel faster than it actually is.
0:29 But the Santa Fe isn't in this segment? Their compact SUV is the Tucson; it's even listed as such on their website. The Santa Fe competes with the Pilot, not the CR-V.
Fixed that , never had a problem. Ever. With anything. 3rd CRV. Criquets. Never a problem with all 3, top resale value, rock solid reliability, looks great and handles like a champ. Can’t go wrong.
I wonder how much Honda pays for these ads. In all seriousness, KBB reviews are never super critical but it's odd how easy they are on Honda compared to other brands. A lot of competitors offer more fore less money and feel more substantial.
What it's This Color From Honda CRV is Rivals:BMW X3,Audi Q5,Mercedes GLC,Toyota RAV4,Nissan Rogue,Mazda CX 5,Ford Bronco Sport,Hyundai Santa Fe or New Chevy Equinox
They’re lagging behind pretty much everyone.. Hyundai and Kia are doing amazing with their high tech, and sophisticated exterior and interior designs lately. And yet, CRV still sells like hot cakes, looking like something out of 2010...
@@eBikify I was thinking specifically about Toyota. For example, Rav4 doesn’t have a CVT, unless it’s hybrid which is more efficient than CRV hybrid. In the budget cars, Honda uses their 1.8 turbo engine which won’t hold up as long as Toyota’s engines. As for Mazda, their styling and interior are amazing and their skyactive engines are great (and no CVTs). Basically Honda is going for turbos, cvts, and bland design. Acura’s new MDX is great tho.
@@naveenthemachine yeah but in my personal preference a normal Accord is 1.8T and CVT (or hybrid), whereas Camry is 2.5L and 8sp auto (or hybrid, but Toyota hybrid is superior to Honda's)

We own a 2017 and I’ve owned a 2006. To be honest, I liked my 2006 better. It’s grown a lot since and the interior is much more premium now, which is great. However, the infotainment system is the worst in the industry. The tranny is meh...wish it had shift points to mimic gears. The droning of the CVT is terrible, especially when you are loaded up on long trips or in stop and go traffic. Also, as with all Hondas, the pitch and number of beeps and tones are just maddening and the auto-tailgate is so slow to open. In this day and age, that stuff should be much better sorted.
It's the vehicle of choice in my family - two sisters and two aunts own one - but that CVT means it's not for me. A Pilot or Ridgeline, maybe. To Andrew Bernard's lament, the Passport seems pretty scarce...

I had a 2017 crv and oil dilution was bad. Traded with a 2021 and oh boy it’s gone. It heats up much faster but there’s a little trade off with gas mileage.
Still got my 2017 CR-V Touring
The style is so old, really needs an update inside out. I used to see it everyday on the road, now barely any, at least in SoCal.
The problem of the CRV is their 1.5T turbo- oil dilution mixing of gas/ oil, hp they solve this issue since 2017-2020 & now its 2021, We have a fmly friend w/ same issue but Honda fixed it w/ no charge because still underwatranty! I told him to bring in the dealership now it’s running ok w/ no issue, but they said the 2.4L NA is very good eng
I bought a 2021 crv EX-L and get 24 MPG :( I live in LA
I love my Honda 2021
Love my 2018 crv ex in molten lava its a wonderful highway vechicle
That means it is not so good in city driving ?
What about the new Ridgeline?
What about it ? Be more specific dude
Have a 2019 CRV and I love it

5. Honda CR-V
• Most common complaint: Steering (69 complaints)
• Total complaints 154
• 2019 sales (through Q3): 280,739
• Vehicle type: Compact SUV
Of the over 150 reported complaints about the 2019 Honda CR-V, most can be traced back to a single issue. The vehicle issued a recall in May 2019, saying, “The metal core of the steering wheel may have burrs which can damage the harnesses routed within” - which could damage the air bag. This design may have otherwise affected the steering and air bags. There were 69 complaints regarding the steering and 65 complaints regarding the 2019 CR-V’s air bags. USAToday

I would too but with my nearest dealer, it's not viable, so the Nissan Rogue is my choice over the rest that were mentioned.

@@frederickmoller go for a used, u will save 10-12k
I had a forester.... cheap interior, didn’t last nearly as long as any Honda I ever had..... all sorts of issues with mine. Never again on Subaru...all wheel drive is the best, but I sacrifice everything else. Back home with a 2021 CRV. Bye Subaru
I wish you guys would review the new Passport.
Hasn’t changed really since it came out in 2019. It’s about due for a mid cycle refresh.
@@atmartens Yeah, it would be nice to get an update on the long term review.
@@macmuchmore1 I'm hoping when they do the refresh, it'll be changed like the Ridgeline. I'd also hope they'd get away from the 9speed, and update to the 10.
I have the 2017 Silver CR-V and still doesn't look dated in 2021.
Cuz it was already dated when it first came out
Joking 😱
We have 2021 CRV 2.0 Base in Philippines, the-rest are diesel CRV, my father has it as a fleet car, he said the 2016 CRV with CVT is bad because it struggles to accelerate unlike non cvt cars that are impressive in overtaking, now he said the 2.0 CVT 4x2 is a lot worse, hed wish that his company added budget and bought a diesel CRV Instead
Man, that silver all over the outside is gaudy as hell. I don’t feel like it aged well aesthetically. I’m not in the market though, so 🤷🏻♀️
I haven't seen John Player Special for a long time... 😂
Hyundai Santa Fe in this category? Not the all new Tucson? 🤔

There's nothing wrong with a CVT.
@@truthistruth615 I don't think so

Will the 2022 CR-V have WIRELESS Android Auto??

I’ll take CRV everyday
If you want a peppy RAV4, get the hybrid.
Apple CarPlay should be standard on all trims. Hello Honda it’s 2021 are you listening?
HONDA IS THE BEST SO FAR IN THE WORLD ❤ ❤ ❤ ❤ ❤ ❤ ❤ ❤ ❤ ❤ ❤

@@ericdarmawan9504 CR-V is the most sold SUV in the world every single year since 20 years
0:29 But the Santa Fe isn't in this segment? Their compact SUV is the Tucson; it's even listed as such on their website. The Santa Fe competes with the Pilot, not the CR-V.
It competes with the venza, passport and atlas cross sport and more in the midsize 2 row sub segment
More cubic feet of interior space in the CRV vs Santa Fe also base 4 cyl in the Santa Fe is slow and noisy.
What are the exact dimensions of the cargo area?
Honda has lost my trust with the fuel dilution fiasco.
Fixed that , never had a problem. Ever. With anything. 3rd CRV. Criquets. Never a problem with all 3, top resale value, rock solid reliability, looks great and handles like a champ. Can’t go wrong.
I never saw the dash board??
In Canada CarPlay and Auto are standard but I think we pay more for that on the base model. Either way it’s a better deal here.
I wonder how much Honda pays for these ads. In all seriousness, KBB reviews are never super critical but it's odd how easy they are on Honda compared to other brands.
A lot of competitors offer more fore less money and feel more substantial.
EXACTLY. Honda is so behind
they do the same with genesis
Kbb ,motor trend, car and driver, and to some extent redline reviews, just loves Honda too much haha and looks down at its biggest competitor toyota.

Honda has been significantly lagging behind Toyota and Mazda these days
Not entirely. Everyone says accord over Camry or civic over Corolla.
@@naveenthemachine yeah but in my personal preference a normal Accord is 1.8T and CVT (or hybrid), whereas Camry is 2.5L and 8sp auto (or hybrid, but Toyota hybrid is superior to Honda's)
@@naveenthemachine and a civic would be the same deal except both use cvt. A corolla hatchback is pretty zippy and also reliable, which is a concern for the new turbo engine

Nextgen cr-v coming year ?
Around 2023/24
Probably 2nd half of 2022 as 2023 model year.
Drove one as a loaner car yesterday, yawn, but better in sport mode. Porky compared to the 2002 model we had. As a man I couldn’t own one.
All cars will have good and bad. Road noise is an issue. Everything else is good. It depends on what you want in a car.
Its so sad, why the features significantly so different with Indonesia's version :'(
It's the vehicle of choice in my family - two sisters and two aunts own one - but that CVT means it's not for me. A Pilot or Ridgeline, maybe. To Andrew Bernard's lament, the Passport seems pretty scarce...
A friend of mine was in the market for one but ended up getting a Santa Fe because the passports that he did find were quite expensive comparatively.
