Hey everyone! Just wanted to pop in here to give an update and say thank you to everyone in the comments who alerted me nicely that there is actually ONE more step for these clothes after they fail to sell at the bins. I do some research in preparation for these videos, but even with that I missed the step between the goodwill bins and the landfill, I apologize for missing that in the video! So basically as I understand it the step between the bins and the landfill is.. unsold clothes are bound together and sold to different places for different uses(to recycle/reuse the fabric, or to be sold in other countries) at this point some items are thrown away but apparently a good majority does get bought in this final step because the price is very low. Thank you to everyone who informed me of this, and now with all that being said please enjoy the video!
Hey Mia! My partner and I are HUGE thrifters and really want to go to the Goodwill bins! Do you know if London is the only one in ON? It's not TOO too far from home, but it would be better if there was one a little closer!

As a sewist and a seamstress the bins are a MUST for thrift fabrics for projects. And DO NOT be afraid of 'The Vultures' they are like bees if you dont bother them, they wont bother you. There's usually a side group (mostly older ladies) that are shopping for quilting fabrics, etc. Just vibe with those people LOL
I was talking to a woman who sews and we were talking about the price of patterns, fabric, buttons, zippers and the like, it's cheaper to just buy retail or thrift. She told me that the items rejected by goodwill get shipped off to third world countries to people living in abject poverty, who waste NOTHING, and it's something she started doing. For example, they- and she sometimes takes a discarded item and uses the buttons, zippers, Velcro. The lace and appliques can be used in crafting. Fabric can be transformed into another item like a child's dress, dresser doily, pincushion, dishrags, quilts, ragdolls and quilted stuffed animals. They'll even cut it into strips and weave it into hot pad/ pot holders or rag rugs. The women in some of these countries have to use them for cloth diapers or feminine sanitary items. My dad said it was like that in his childhood and I do remember my grandmother telling me some of this. If anyone's been keeping up with the news you'll see that this way of life, and growing your own food is on the horizon.
I'm a low income person, intergenerationally, and have thrifted and revamped clothes my whole life. The bins was definitely one of our favorite places, and you're exactly right, the resellers have come much later! I must admit, the thrift stores are a different world for us now. I love that younger generations are looking for second hand clothes because it's much more sustainable. But I am not crazy about the resellers, it takes away us poorer folks from having a chance to score a nice quality item that lasts. I have a great Michael Kors jacket that's lasted me for years and years, and I wouldn't have been able to afford it without thrifting. I love that you're showing folks the options they have at thrift stores, and how much better it can be to find things there and make them your own. I recently made a cloak out of a set of cotton and linen blend Ikea curtains found at goodwill. I dyed them, too! Thanks for the fun Mia, and the great nuance you gave us about the bins, too!
The thing about resellers is their profit margins are not very high. Outside of the occasional brand name grab they're not making much on the items they thrift. Rich people arent reselling from the bins. I don't mean to sound mean but you have the same chance at good items as they do if you're willing to get in there and get them. I know multiple resellers from my local bins who live at or below the poverty line. They work full time minimum wage jobs at gas stations and retail stores and then spend their off days at the bins trying to make "fun money" that they won't be giving to their landlord at the end of the month. The idea that resellers are all middle class Instagram moms is kinda bogus.
@@strayiggytv personally, wasn't thinking about moms making ends meet but more influencers young adults, styling cheap stuff and making it seem worth more. don't have the same chance at finding good stuff cause there's nothing like it where I live. don't think I encountered the same type of resellers that you did on depop and vinted :')
What it bothered me to hear was that people get aggressive, what on earth? Take your entitled agresive bully actitud somewhere else, nobody should feel wary or afraid to try these places just because other people feel entitled to them ..
Make this a series please! I would love a monthly bin shopping saving iconic items from the landfill. Also maybe you can sell it or do a giveaway at the end of a quarter of doing the episodes
@@MiaMaples Yes, a monthly series. I especially enjoy the remakes or upcycles of used clothing. Btw, Love your Mom. It warms my heart watching you two together, Mama Maples is the best. ❤🙏👑✝
You could do the monthly bin shopping and upcycle and then add items to your store for donation. What a way to not have it go to landfills. Fun video as always
Insider info: I used to work for Goodwill. The stuff at the bin place is a combination of rejects that never made it to the sales floor at the regular stores. And pulls from the rack that didn't sell in around a month or more depending on the volume of the location. They usually alternate the color of the tags or the plastic piece that holds them each week. That way they know how long the merchandise has been on the sales floor. If a rack is starting to get too full to shop they will pull all the pieces with the same color tag and send it to the bin place. That is why you are able to find the random gem in the bin.
What state did you work in? Because I once worked at one in Wisconsin and when they would take stuff off the floor, it all went into the compact machine and we were then told it got sent off to other places. We don't have a bin store here!
Goodwill in Erie, Pa. does not have bin shopping. Their prices are high, that's why a lot of stuff doesn't sell. They prefer to just dump it in a landfill and collect insurance money instead. Goodwill is simply shameless, they started out good and jacked up their prices, so our Goodwill has few shoppers. I don't know how they stay open. It's either they change their ways or move out of the building for another charity store to take over.
I am late at this video, its been almost a month but i have a question i wanna do. i am not from the united states, i am from argentina so se dont have goodwills. What i dont understand is if goodwill sells all donated clothes why they throw It away later when they dont sell it? Thats terrible. They should give those clothes to people Who actuallly needs It
@@ludlv2373 It depends on the district what they do with the remains. In my district they would pull and sell stuff at the bins. Then they would bundle the cloth items and sell them for mulching into home insulation. Some districts will action off pallets of items in like groups. Others will send it straight to the landfill. Our district had a computer recycling branch and had inmates trained to fix and upgrade them as their work program for ex cons. Then they sold them in the store and gave them away to job seekers in the area.
Every time I have donated clothes, the kid who worked in the front right in front of me is "LEVIS! Going home with me!" No, I thought I was donating items that went directly to the shelter. So even knowing where to donate makes my head hurt. This happened at a local place, at Goodwill, where they THREW AWAY the nice kitchen stuff, never used, before we left the store. Screw that, I guess yard sale next?
I think maybe she wants to promote a more sustainable alternative to all of these huge hauls she used to do (that often were from fast fashion brands). A lot of people starting watching her for those hauls and at the same time she showed with the pillowcase that you can revamp old clothes and not having to buy new items
I found a depression pieced quilt at a bin sale about 25 years ago. They had used flour sacks and probably old clothing to make the squares. You did great! I love how you have no fear to alter or make something new out of vintage or used items! This grandma is impressed!
When I was a single mom, I shopped goodwill and thrift stores a lot for clothes. It’s a habit that continues now. I always felt guilty for not being able to buy my kid clothes from the regular stores. Recently we were looking through some old photos of her school days..I realized she looked more fashionable than most of the other kids. Lol she told me that kids were always asking where she got her clothes but would always say she didn’t know..more picked it up somewhere lol. It relieved some of the guilt but looking back..I did what I had to do. And yes it is fun searching for those special finds. I never spent more than $15 for formal gowns. Her high school had 3 or 4 formals a year. No way could we afford $300 plus on a gown.
I love how she went from big shein hauls to being this sustainable And this specific video shows that being sustainable is way cheaper and cooler than being a wasteful shein shopper
I buy nice high quality things second hand/vintage for the same price that people buy new crappy Shein clothes 🤣 I was a Shein buyer before - never going back to that🙅🏼♀️
@@lauraworeityea and it’s good to save the clothes at goodwill for people who actually have no choice other than to shop there because they can’t afford to go to actually retail stores w normal new regular priced items, they don’t go there to “thrift shop” they shop there for things like back to school. I used to be embarrassed having to go to goodwill for back to school because it was considered poor and it’s almost a trend now lol I wish it was when I was in elementary school
I would like to give you truth serum, because Shein is selling to someone. Lots of someones. Then the comments "I only buy from thrift stores! I am über moral!"
Mia is such a good role model for young girls. She tries new things and she always has an amazing attitude while doing it ❤️ and she cares about sustainability and helping others!!
I shopped for my wedding dress at a goodwill wedding dress event. Only a certain number of people could go in at a time. It worked out fine bc all of the brides ran straight to the rack of newer dresses and I was the only one sifting through super old dresses. Ended up buying a 40-50 year old handmade dress for $25. Pulled it apart and revamped it to be my wedding dress. That was 5 years ago tomorrow actually! Edit: uploaded a short with pictures on my channel if anyone cares to see. *not a professional video maker* 😂
Mia, you'll probably never see this, but I thought I'd let you know your channel (specifically your mom) inspired our new rescue dog's name. We found her with her 5 puppies in a bad condition, and I kept calling her mama, which quickly evolved into "mama maples". So Yea, that's it 😂 all the puppies have found homes and my husband and I couldn't bear to part from our miss Maple 🥺so now she's ours forever. thank you always for sharing positivity and kindness in your videos 🥰
Did you keep Mama Maples, or was one of the pups named Mia? Rescuing animals in need is such a wonderful thing to do, thank you for being so kind. I was a cat rescuer for 50 years, but I just have my cat Chewie now, as I'm no longer in a position to rescue anymore.
We had one in Seattle that was actually a sorting center, so we got to pick through right next to the employees. I got a really beautiful antique dress - at that point is was like 55¢ per lb, and I LOVED going!
As someone who has worked in the warehouse at goodwill in SF, there is a step missing. The clothes you donate do not always end up on the floor. It is actually sent to the warehouse so it can be examined. While it is there they sort them depending on the town and city it will go to (nice stuff goes to nicer areas). People tag and hang all of the clothes there and put them in huge bins to be sent out. Never try clothes on at goodwill!!!!! My gloves would be brown by the end of my shift. PLUS they have so much inventory they have to compact all the clothes into cubes and stack them and they just sit. Honestly, I would recommend donating to other places. Their inventory is insane.
Yes, so many people don't know that. Please please don't donate to Goodwill. Please search in your area, there are ALWAYS womens shelters, family shelters, or homeless shelters, etc that really need clothes.
@@cecereyno8895 goodwill is not cheap in all areas. Yes, there’s mark downs but they jack up prices for high valued items. You are more likely to get someone to pay for those items in higher income areas. I know for some higher income areas like Menlo Park, Ca it is a boutique.
Mia, a series where you shop, plan and execute an upcycle (or 2 or 3 or 10) would be so fun and helpful. Cut, sew, add, delete, embroider, trim, bleach, dye…so many options. I love this video! 👗🛏️ 🎀
I discovered Goodwill Outlet bin shopping as a teenager in 2006 and it honestly changed my life. I learned how to sew and now I try to mend/diy/rework as many clothes in my closet as possible before donating them
i can watch mia buying from bins and flipping them to cute clothes (and maybe use the scraps for the dollhouse) every day. I love how the items in this video turned out to be, it’s exactly how I imagined them to look! (Some of them are trends I see in my country tbh)
Love love love that you didn’t only look for pieces that were ready to wear, but that you could transform. You’ve inspired me so much to sew that I actually signed up for a class! And those shoes are everything, girl!
Mia! I have passed up so many pairs of white pants that were in perfect shape when I could have been dying them fun colors all along! Why have I never thought of this!? Thank you, you crafty old lady trapped in a young body!!!
i’m a sewer myself and have a hard time seeing the potential in pieces at the thrift store so this was a really helpful video :) great finds!! i really love what you did with the matching brown pieces
I think the brown set is great! It's your style, too. Not just grandma-y, but just sort of mid century modern 60ies/70ies chic. Goes great with the hair, too. I preferred the pants white, or the lightest blue, but it's great that you gave the ombre a try!
PLEASE, for the love of all that is good, make a historical ball gown out of thrifted items!!! It would be so much fun to watch and what a special piece you would have in the end 😍
Oh my gosh my mom used to take us to a goodwill with bins like these. When I was a kid I would walk away with a whole trash bag of stuffed animals and LOVED IT. 😆
That red jacket you pulled up was so cute but omg the blues in the first top you put on made you glow. I can't believe how many of those items fit your vibe so perfectly. As soon as you said you were going to make the corset I thought "I hope she wore a mask for allergies" 😅
Every time Mia sews, I automatically go back to the time she made the Etsy pillow good side to bad side & say out loud "look at how far you've come!" 😁
That's an amazing outfit, all put together. Too-small strappy shoes, ombre jeans, and a giant corset made out of a pillowcase. Time to hit the hottest club in Canada: Le Bin. I love it all. As someone who loves to just dig through thrift stores and secondhand shops, this was so fun.
I always love going to the bins but omg the people can get so crazy!! they completely forget what personal space is, and they are basically in the bin itself cause they reach over so far to look through everything. I've had people bump into me so hard and not even say sorry. Mia, girl, you were smart to not go into that chaotic mess
Mia is just so sweet, how excited she gets bin shopping 😍 She is seriously the most humble and cutest successful youtuber I know ❤ and don't let me start about her wholesome family 🥰
THE 2 PIECE- THE CORSET- Mia living out my seamstress fantasy, wearing the clothes that I'm not confident enough to wear. That two-piece top with the white jeans was GIVING. Such talent. Such wow.
I can offer one piece of advice to you. No matter which bins place you go to, be sure to never shake out sheets, blankets, rugs those kind of items. The last Goodwill bins that I went to, I proceeded to shake out a large blanket and ended up in the employee bathroom flooding my eyes in the emergency eye flushing sink. It was full of dirt and grass. You never know where things come from when they are donated to the Goodwill.
Omg you got such cute stuff!! I loved how you turned that brown set to fit you! The top even looked great with the white jeans! And Mia..if you go back try to buy up any and all blankets and donate them to animal shelters!💙💙💙
Another reason to wear good gloves is broken glass! They put glass in with everything else so it can get broken in there and cut you if you’re not careful. Also, some items in the bins never make it to goodwill stores because of quality/style and how full the surrounding stores already are
The jeans and the brown two piece were bloomin awesome Mia! Well done dyeing the pants so well. They came out gorgeous! God bless you and all those you love. Have a great weekend!
I love the bins at goodwill, I am so going today. I was having a bad week and then I watched this, you helped stop the tears! Thank you for being you, so normal for a mother who doesn't have a normal kid, you fill the void. Love you kid!
I love this video, Miss Mia!!! And your inserts of actually "upping" the stuff was perfect!! You are literally living my life-this is what I do when I go thrifting!! And the best part is when I wear the revamped thrifted items I get SO MANY COMPLIMENTS. One time this lady asked me where I got my bell bottom pants and I explained that they were just thrifted pants that I dyed and cut and added inserts to make into bell bottoms and she asked if she could buy them or pay me to make her some... We ended up becoming revamp friends, I showed her how to thrift, dye, and sew (or anything else necessary) to turn items into her own style. Her mind was blown. I don't know of any bin stores around here, but I'm definitely going to look it up!!!! And take my revamp friend!! (To all you haters about the cost of revamping clothes- I've been doing it for years and I have a collection of dyes, fabric, thread, yarn-i admit, I'm a hoarder... But it pays off in the end. I can go buy something in the thrift store for a dollar, and after a few hours and hardly any extra money at home it looks like a brand new designer runway item.... That's just how I roll
as someone who crochets a lot I appreciate you saving that crochet blanket and also who cares if you wanna cut it up and make it a top or something, what matters is that you're getting use out of it! only issue I can see with that is cutting crocheted stuff seems like a recipe for disaster lmao but I guess you could prob make it work like stitching before you cut so it doesn't fray? anyway I would be so flattered if I crocheted a blanket and it was thrown into the goodwill bins and someone picked it up and turned it into clothing. it's like adding more art on top of someone else's art that elevates it if that makes sense lol?? but yeah that's such a fun idea. I can totally see why ppl resell items from the goodwill bins bc I can imagine seeing something you just KNOW could find a good loving home and it feels like such a waste to see it get thrown out, but the way people resell it for the price you'd buy something *new* and they're super competitive about it is just so toxic and makes me sad, like why not just leave the items for poor people to be able to buy cute clothes instead of trying to make money reselling it online. I feel like to resell clothes like that you'd have to have a lot of free time and know the fashion trends and be willing to wait a long time for everything to sell and afford to keep investing more money into it so it doesn't seem like an actual job someone would do in order to make a living but just ppl who are already doing ok financially trying to make easy money?? maybe I'm wrong but like idk I've heard so many bad things about resellers. like on one hand if you enjoy shopping and giving old clothes a new life then it can be a great side hustle but on the other hand they could be taking cute clothes before other ppl who really need them can get to them and making them essentially unavailable for poor ppl by pricing them really high online :/ I'm always sad when I see secondhand stuff online that's super expensive and wish I could find stuff like that in my local thrift store but I wonder if any resellers get to the super cute stuff first at the thrift store I go to bc it seems fairly popular. like cmon just bc I'm poor doesn't mean I have to have boring style lmao
In America there is something vintage resellers do called “Rag Shopping.” You dig through MASSIVE piles of clothing and pay by the pound. I used to work for a vintage wholesale company to the Japanese market and the things they would find at rag shops were INCREDIBLE.
Ok I LOVED this video Mia! I love how you included up cycling the clothes. They turned out so cute! You’re so talented 🫶🏻 my favorite was the pants you dyed ombré! So cute!
my mom used to shop in goodwill bins then resell on poshmark. there was a huge issue with city folk coming in and these women would just walk by your cart and start pulling what they wanted out of your cart if you turned around. some wouldnt even wait until you turned away. they would just take what they wanted to resell in street side stalls, or ebay for like a 300% markup. it was rediculous, and violent.
I’m so glad you got to enjoy the bins of goodwill! Here in Virginia the bins at our goodwill is an absolute madhouse! I literally got hit with a bike in the miscellaneous bin a year ago when a crowd stormed to the newly refilled bin! Please be cautious when you stand around waiting for new bins because that crowd will definitely trample you! Love you!!❤️
I love videos like this! Finding seemingly ugly or outdated (clothing) items and turning them into something fashionable or cute, love to see more Seamstress Mia!
For anyone who lives in Northern or Central Arizona, I was a CSM at Goodwill. The Bins sell price is 1.25 per pound as well and the items will stay in the stores for 4 weeks before they are taken off and shipped to be put in the bins. It's much better if you wait to get them in the bins, or look at the e-commerce sight for more expensive/name brand stuff. And a PSA for anyone going bin shopping, do infact waer gloves and long sleeve shirts, some items may be dirty or have touched peoples no go zone, and make sure you wash them before you wear them.
I absolutely LOVE the bins. Long time thrifter. I want to go so bad but need to declutter some... I used to sell, don't anymore. Ive been to different bins in 5 different states. Every 1 had a different feel. Most Ive been to have very nice people. You'll see all different walks of life and if you're nice, make friends. I never liked getting into the crowded areas... I liked just finding my own bin and slowly going through it. Occasionally sharing. Like if a Mom was there and Id see cute kids clothes offer to her. ♡ I'd absolutely watch more hauls. Love them.
I loved this video!! The effort you put into it is incredible, you transforming the items was so fun to watch. That what makes you so special, thank you for doing what you do and making everyone’s day better ❤ PS your style and you are just adorable!
i just utterly love the fact that mia just did a closet clearout saying how she wanted to clear a full closet...and then just casually buys 11 POUNDS of clothes💀
A tip for the future is a bit of work but so much better in the long run. So the advice is to do a mock-up of the pattern on practice (non-stretch) fabric and tailor it. You then seam rip it apart and trace it to paper with the seam allowances. This way you will have a tailored fit outfit and are more likely not to waste fabric if you have limited yardage. I hope this helps you.
Gloves are also a good option because some bins may contain something broken, like glass or sharp plastic. I often wear a glove on just one hand and use that for digging and then have a bare hand so I can feel textures/materials better. I think part of the reason so much great stuff ends up at the bins is because pricing at the regular goodwill stores can often be ridiculously high (for a thrift store), and they don't really discount things more the longer they've been there.
Oh my god. The section on etiquette was killing me 🤣 just an FYI for new shoppers - every bins has its own set of rules so make sure you pay attention to what others are doing.
Okay, I am now motivated to find the nearest Goodwill bins and shop for hours. I love thrifting, anyway, and that's like ultra-thrifting. What a great way to find affordable things to upcycle without risk!
Great Video, Mia. The deals you got from the bins are fantastic. I loved everything on you, that you picked out. Your ombre jeans make you, for sure, the dye queen. And those heels...love them!
I don't have a problem with resellers in these scenarios because they're rescuing clothing that would otherwise go to a landfill, but they shouldn't just go there acting entitled to pieces they don't even want / need for themselves when someone else found it first 💀
Yea like it’s kinda weird how there are “rules” like they have some sort of seniority because they been there longer? Kinda childish and weird for adults
It’s so weird to me when resellers get an attitude and try to act all uppity, like you think you’re special because you don’t have a job and can afford to terrorize stores all days and then markup everything you buy on FB Marketplace while adding no value to it?? 😭 Like if you’re gonna do that shit, you gotta at least be nice to people
Not from a bin, but at Goodwill I found the most amazing open-toed chunky heel that looked like it came out of the 70s in my exact size! After a quick google, I discovered there’s a Goodwill bin store 4 miles away from me! I’ll definitely be going there
Mia! You are so amazing! What a beautiful thought to both save the planet (clothes going on the landfills), create something new from the old! You are so talented! I want more of this: Making a video with you taking clothes from bins to create new clothes to wear! My favorite was the corset from the pillow case! I did love the patterned! And I so pumped if you make a Renaissance Marie-Antoinette style (from the bins!!! woah!). Thank you for you amazing creative mind and energy you give out to the world! Bless you!🥰

Only Mia can turn a video into a shopping vlog, try on haul and a "thrift flip" all in one!!
HEHHEHE!!
Make this a series please! I would love a monthly bin shopping saving iconic items from the landfill. Also maybe you can sell it or do a giveaway at the end of a quarter of doing the episodes
oh i love that idea!!
@@MiaMaples me, too!
Yesss, please make it a series! It's so fun to watch and it inspires more people to shop second hand.
Going home with me!"
No, I thought I was donating items that went directly to the shelter. So even knowing where to donate makes my head hurt. This happened at a local place, at Goodwill, where they THREW AWAY the nice kitchen stuff, never used, before we left the store. Screw that, I guess yard sale next?
mia in her closet clear out: gets rid of embroidered granny cardigan because she never wears it
also mia: gets a new one
I still remember when mia didn't know how to sew AT ALL and glued everything... And now she's sooo good at sewing! You go girl!
Mia: I want to clear out a closet to turn into a desk
Also Mia: 11 pounds of clothes!!
Exactly, quite contradicting 😅
😂😂my thoughts exactly
I think maybe she wants to promote a more sustainable alternative to all of these huge hauls she used to do (that often were from fast fashion brands). A lot of people starting watching her for those hauls and at the same time she showed with the pillowcase that you can revamp old clothes and not having to buy new items
she donates the ones which she doesnt wear so ig it's a constant cycle between donating and getting more clothes for haul videos

Something I love about Mias content is all her videos are so drama free. It’s just happy cute videos she never fed into the whole UA-cam dramas
I love how she went from big shein hauls to being this sustainable
And this specific video shows that being sustainable is way cheaper and cooler than being a wasteful shein shopper
Yeah, that's definetly a good thing!
100% agree!
I would like to give you truth serum, because Shein is selling to someone. Lots of someones. Then the comments "I only buy from thrift stores! I am über moral!"
The vibe in this video hit different today 😭 I love Mia’s energy so much
aw thank youuuuu!!
I like how you can tell mia understands the bins because she knows to wear gloves lol. I've found knives, glass, nails and a machete in the bins
Holy… I would be afraid of needles
The first time I went to a bin in Texas they required us to buy some gloves that were $2 for that reason. Good quality thick rubber gloves.
we found a butt plug
Oh wow! Good to know.
Mia is such a good role model for young girls. She tries new things and she always has an amazing attitude while doing it ❤️ and she cares about sustainability and helping others!!
Mia casually KILLING IT at spontaneously ombré dying the jeans 🤩
I shopped for my wedding dress at a goodwill wedding dress event. Only a certain number of people could go in at a time. It worked out fine bc all of the brides ran straight to the rack of newer dresses and I was the only one sifting through super old dresses. Ended up buying a 40-50 year old handmade dress for $25. Pulled it apart and revamped it to be my wedding dress. That was 5 years ago tomorrow actually!

Why nicer clothes to nicer areas?! I don’t like that
wish my goodwill would do that, they legit toss things in the dumpster T_T
This is good to know. I usually try to give stuff away on our local group for free first.

i’m a sewer myself and have a hard time seeing the potential in pieces at the thrift store so this was a really helpful video :) great finds!! i really love what you did with the matching brown pieces
Omg yesssssss! I am living for that idea! LOVE the sewing videos!

That red jacket you pulled up was so cute but omg the blues in the first top you put on made you glow. I can't believe how many of those items fit your vibe so perfectly. As soon as you said you were going to make the corset I thought "I hope she wore a mask for allergies" 😅

It's a great idea, but Goodwill should donate them directly since they are going to get rid of them if they don't sell, anyway

Who also loves all Mia's videos like it doesnt matter what she uploads!!❤️❤️❤️❤️
AWW LY!!
as someone who crochets a lot I appreciate you saving that crochet blanket and also who cares if you wanna cut it up and make it a top or something, what matters is that you're getting use out of it! only issue I can see with that is cutting crocheted stuff seems like a recipe for disaster lmao but I guess you could prob make it work like stitching before you cut so it doesn't fray? anyway I would be so flattered if I crocheted a blanket and it was thrown into the goodwill bins and someone picked it up and turned it into clothing. it's like adding more art on top of someone else's art that elevates it if that makes sense lol?? but yeah that's such a fun idea.
I really appreciate that you brought up the original reason behind bin shopping and goodwill

Mia : “but don’t worry I’m saving them for a future project”

I absolutely LOVE the bins. Long time thrifter. I want to go so bad but need to declutter some... I used to sell, don't anymore. Ive been to different bins in 5 different states. Every 1 had a different feel. Most Ive been to have very nice people. You'll see all different walks of life and if you're nice, make friends. I never liked getting into the crowded areas...
True facts, I can't believe the prices now a days. 😮
Oh my god. The section on etiquette was killing me 🤣 just an FYI for new shoppers - every bins has its own set of rules so make sure you pay attention to what others are doing.

I don't have a problem with resellers in these scenarios because they're rescuing clothing that would otherwise go to a landfill, but they shouldn't just go there acting entitled to pieces they don't even want / need for themselves when someone else found it first 💀
I agree but humans feel easily entitled when in a space that is common and comfortable to them, like most animals do.
Like if you’re gonna do that shit, you gotta at least be nice to people
Not from a bin, but at Goodwill I found the most amazing open-toed chunky heel that looked like it came out of the 70s in my exact size! After a quick google, I discovered there’s a Goodwill bin store 4 miles away from me! I’ll definitely be going there
