- Day 17 of my motorcycle trip from West Virginia to Alaska was a fun one. I rode my KTM 1290 Super Adventure from Thunder Bay to Sault Ste. Marie following along Lake Superior for most of the day. I even got to stop by Winnie the Pooh's hometown.

The nice thing about traveling, especially on a motorcycle, is the things you see but weren't expecting. Winnie the Pooh, a giant goose, a helicopter tethered to something, things you won't see from your couch looking out your livingroom window. Enjoy your travels and mine start tomorrow.
You're right about that! And safe travels!
New subscriber here. The Soo is my home town! Great to see it again!
Thanks Neil. Glad you enjoyed seeing your home town again.
Another great weather day. Another great ride. The motorcycling gods smiled on you for most of this epic adventure.
That, they did.
Great trip mate Neil from the uk
Thanks Neil!
That was some AWESOME drone video from the St. Mary’s River at Soo, Ontario. Thanks for sharing!
Another great update Mario......Thanks and all the best....
I know the time and effort that goes into producing and editing these videos, they are professionally done, and they keep me retained through the complete video, I can't wait to see the next one. Great Job!!!
I very much appreciate that. Happy to hear you're enjoying them and the next one comes out tomorrow.
Great video. I went through that same section a few years back and you're right, the riding is awesome.
Awesome! Thanks for taking us along again!
These videos help to remind me that I can’t wait till riding season is back!
Yes I agree, I am getting a wicked case of cabin fever already. In my case cabin fever equates to spending money on the net buying crap for my bike seeing as I can't go out and ride it.
Now I am going to be in more trouble with my wife. I just ordered a new shield. Time to get off of the internet.
Great video as always. The Trans Canadian Highway really looks like an awesome road to ride. Thanks again for sharing it with us. PABB
Beautiful ride. Can't wait for it to warm up here in MN. Like April maybe March. Rubber side down and let the miles roll on.
Great video thanks for sharing looks like a awesome trip
Another great addition to the series. Thanks for sharing. Wishing you a very merry Christmas and here's to more happy motorcycling adventures in the new year! Safe Travels.🙂 🎄 ⛄️
Thank you and thank you. Merry Christmas to you and yours as well!
You probably have been told by now that Sault Ste Marie's is pronounced as " sue Saint Marie " . Wawa is a cool place. Too bad you never got to meet the locals. Definitely do not want to be hitch hiking through Wawa though. Nice moto vlog. I grew up in northern Ontario, live in the west Kootenays of British Columbia. Some day you will have to plan a trip to Nelson, BC, and spend some time exploring the Kootenays. Awesome area to ride!
Richard, I actually flashed up the correct pronunciation on the screen every time I mispronounced it...which was every time. :) I'll have to research the Kooenays.
I'm I correct in that It seems like surprisingly little traffic for this time of year. Did you encounter any bad road conditions or hazards along this section of your trip? I'll be traveling the opposite direction in early September and then from Thunder Bay to Duluth. Would you suggest carrying an extra gas bottle or just make sure to stop and fill up every chance I get? Your videos are very insightful. Thanks.
Only a few construction zones. The following day I hit some low viz conditions due to nearby wild fires. It's touch to say on carrying extra fuel as it really depends on your bikes range. Mine has a 7.9 gallon tank to covering 300 miles is no issue. That said, I doubt you go more than 50-60 between fueling stations.
At any point in the trip did it feel “like a job”? A day that things weren’t clicking along?
Only the first few days because I had a few issues with the bike coupled with riding through the Midwest...which sucks worse each time.
I'm surprised a guy who's traveled so much didn't know how to pronounce "the Soo"!!
Despite a Master's in Communications, I'm from WV and still F up pronunciations.
@@2WR Lol - no worries - I'm a CPA who's been known to F up her checkbook!
