I won bullying Saito Toshimitsu because of this Odachi's parry. If all weapon had same abillity to parry Yokai. It'd be a broad fun for player who like using parrying mechanic like this.
Huh. When I accidentally found that it worked on yoki, I just assumed it only worked other yokai that had weapons. Good to know I can parry feet now too. 🤣
Saving this as a reminder of which yokai can be parried. I've done enough testing to strongly suspect that Gozuki and Mezuki are _not_ on that list. Hell, even Just Reprisal doesn't work on them, and that thing's parry window is massive. ☹
I play games in a boring way but I won't ever complained about it being boring because it's not in my skill lvl I'm a caveman when it comes to nioh big katana go bonk
I've never seen an NPC actually scared to swing on a player cuz it knows it's about to get f***** up smh.look for ur self if you don't believe me 4 minutes in The NPC hesitates the whole time
Now if OTHER weapons with timley guard counters worked like this it would be great. Id pick up sword again and my tonfas would be better too Also WHAT?! U countered a grab move? Wtf?
The best way to think about it is that the guarding animation (where your character brings the odachi up in front of them) has to be finishing right as the attack is going to connect. You also have to be standing completely still. If you’re moving at all it will just become a regular block.
I always like the way counters look, but take timely guard for example, is it really worth trying to pull it off consistently when you could probably just attack normally and kill them much more efficiently and quickly?
Of course, did you not see how it leaves yokais vulnerable for quite a while? Other timely guards knock humans out of balance and destroy their ki. Sword can lead immediately to final blow if you want.
@@Toilet_Destroyer If it waa guaranteed it would be worth it, I'm just saying the risk doesn't match the reward imo. but then my timing sucks for things like this.
Holy crap. This has me wondering what other counters I haven't been fully capitalizing on.
Very informative! Thank you, and well done!
I had no idea this counter works on every enemy...so I never utilized it to it's full potential🤦♂️😭
That poor small Gaki got parried so hard he was decapitated
Holy shit I didn't know that it had such a powerful parry move
Every weapon should have a special yokai grapple would help so much in late game with the curses
This video is so fucking satisfying to watch. Thanks, yo.
Edit: This skill kind of turns Nioh 2 into Sekiro, and that's not necessarily a bad thing.
My main is Odachi and this vid is so satisfying lol ....thanx
💪💯

This is a game changer
But reddit said odachi is a moonlight redux spam only weapon 🤔
well it's all you'll see people do online

I can't stop watching this video Help please 😭😭
Fear no more if this dude in my team
Odachi can parry almost everything and everyone😂😂

nioh's police
At 3:00 the odachi parried a throw attack, is that universal or just the namahage?
This is what I want to know
I seeeeee....so that timely guard skill OP🤣🤣👍👍
God damn I only thought it works on humans.
You should use Acala grace doing this. This counts towards the rock solid status
Mix this in with some imperative strike animation cancelling with a sword/dual sword secondary
So in terms of this, Odachi is the best weapon
wow, i thought this skill only parry human n normal atk.. damn gonna play again
Would you please make more videos about other parries please?

@@LemonTreeFromTheEast i mean odachi is cool and all but it be slow as molasses. Im built for speed, in and out kinda play.
Nioh 2 would have been perfect if their parry system wasn't shit
i dont know that counter work on yokai
That fashion tho, mind giving me the details pls :3
How do I get this to work? The timing seems nearly frame perfect in my game but here it seems very easy to do...
I believe there's a grace that extends the timely guard frames , can't recall of the top off my head but if I find I'll be sure to let you know.
It's the Acala's grace it extends timely guard window . It's a ethereal grace so pretty much luck on the gear you can get that has it.

@thephobophile bro you are so god damn right. Ty so much. I tried parrying it like sekiro realised its a diff mechanic
Wish the spear art can block against you since too. Too bad its can only work on human
Great job.
is it possible to parry the long neck guy? i hate that guy
@@LemonTreeFromTheEast OK nice well done.
