Can confirm, parents always used to brag to their mates that I “taught myself to play” because I never had formal lessons, but guitar UA-cam is like having a rotation of 20+ incredible teachers available 24/7
@@Bruin_ffs Actualy I barely find these videos helpful, It is really dificult for me to replicate what those people are playing. It is much easier to look at someone by your side and play what they tell you. Learning anything from videos and tabs is a hard way for me.
@@kontoograniczone I guess everyone learns in different ways. When I was a kiddie winkle I’d probably have been a lot less motivated to put the guitar playing hours in if I was learning it by going to see a teacher for an allocated amount of time because it would have then become another “boring” responsibility, which is how I saw school
This is so helpful, for idiots like me that can learn a solo, or learn a scale, to see the two overlapped and how the scale becomes something musical is elightening! Im sure it's easy for some folk to see the connections, but my brain doesn't agree 😂 thank you!
This is the best way to show it. Show the key, all of the notes in the key and then what position you’re in for each part. If you know the position and key. Then you can actually mess around and find it. It connects the dots so much quicker than tabs.
For real this is the best way to explain hoq to play songs that I've ever seen. Progressed with your videos more than i do with normal tab videos in a week
That note is not "outside of the scale". What's happening, which we all frequently do with minor scales, is you switch between different minor scales like D natural minor and D melodic minor or D harmonic minor. It's really best to see the three scales as variations of one scale. What he is doing here, because he needs the A7, is he is actually using the harmonic minor scale Which works perfectly with the Bb and the A7
Helpful. However, dont just go up and down the scale. Once you are ABLE to at the speed you want, start trying to find chord tones as the chords move past and find the roots within that scale. Because that scale is also the F major Scale. Find the F note in that D Minor Scale and you have your major scale right there. From there, you can easily jam once you hear the changes. More importantly to hear chord tones, learn the names of those notes and have fun relating them notes to any Scale you’d like. I tend to think of everything as a major scale and sharp or flat as needed from there. For example, if I was in the key of G and need an F, I just flatten the F#, which is 7th note. Em Scale is all over the board along with the G major scale. So, if you can solo in G major, you also can solo is Em, just by starting on the E note and flatting the third which happens automatically if you are using or thinking to stay in the G Major Scale all over the neck. All the cool chords, Dmaj, Cmaj, Em, Gmaj, are there. This is just ONE approach, using your ear and ditching Theory altogether is probably better because as Kurt Cobain said, Theory just GETS IN THE WAY of pure creation. He is RIGHT.
Great stuff, like that tune a lot and am eager to learn the licks and solos! I am wondering what the blue dot notes come from? not blue note but borrowed from the chord progression?
Thanks! First two blue notes are the 3rd interval of the A chord (the chord over which the lick is played). The next blue note is just a passing/leading note
These are unbelievably helpful videos
Happy to hear that Jake! Really glad you find this is useful 🙂
It sounded awful until i realised i was in E. Flat lol
I think too❤
Yes I agree
Hell yeah
Today's kids are very lucky with technology & easily accessible information.btw thank you very much for this video.thumbs up👍🏻

I would prefer having an actual guitar teacher though since i get lost searching for which videos to watch

Sad most of them are in TikTok
This format for teaching is amazing
Beautiful wow
Now THIS is what a guitar instruction video ought to look like! Well done man, keep up the good work
Thanks Todor! Really glad you find this useful 🙂
How can people create this stuff consciously? Amazing
If it sounds right its right
It's call to be a musician.
When the "people" is people like Mark Knopfler, you don't really feel surprised
Combination of Talent, practice and luck.
Best demonstration ever on this riff.

Just found your videos. These are extremely helpful. I’ve found nothing like this before. Thank you so much
Agree
An absolutely fantastic way to visualize it.

These are the best teaching guitar videos i have never seen.

The little box with the dots is really helpful because its exactly how i visualize scales, or just songs in general.
Really great and in-depth. Thank you
Muito bom essa aula
Parece ser fácil. Mais esse solo e uns dos mais difícil que já vir
Gratidão pela boa explicação
I could eat these videos up all day MORE PLEASE SIR
Thank you for easy way understanding what’s going on when playing
Scales and solos are a huge gap in my guitar playing, gonna spend 2024 working on stuff like this!
Muito boa essa matéria esclarece muita gente sobre o papel das escalas show brother ❤

its just so pretty!
순간 드는 생각이 이 멋진 연주에 Distortion을 걸면 해비메탈이나 하드락 음악이 되겠구나였습니다. ^^
This really good man keep it up
Excelente...y con los dedos como debe de ser
Very helpful thank you
Thanks for watching! Glad you liked it 🙂
Keep it up man, most of the learning content for music these days is garbage, this is refreshing to see.
Thank you! Means a lot
this is a master class
“This solo uses these notes in this scale” starts adding more and more notes that weren’t there before
He only borrows the notes that are marked blue, all the other ones are still part of the D minors scale, just in a different part of the guitar.
Beautiful ❤SOS
Amazing
Can you do more videos like this where you start with the scales !
great video bro 👌 skills
Top job man❤

Wow how easy it looks but will we be able to play the guitar.. Hope there are classes on You Tube for beginners..

Killer bro ❤
Muy bueno gracias.
Nice
Sublime
brilliant!!!❤
Why is that not a major scale ? Due to the flat? You can practically hear the solo in the scale. Seems so simple. Good job.
muito bom, vale 1000
Thanks

Именно с такой апликатуры я учился играть на гитаре.
thks lot
Exclent friend!
Thank you.
Really helpful!!! But one thing I didn't understand, are the blue notes out of the scale?
Respect... ❤
No better tutorial can be made.
Perfect
good
you should make more of these! Have you ever made for Don't Look Back in Anger or any other pentatonic solo? Btw keep up the good work, subscribed
I'll definitely do more. I have a few that use the pentatonic scale. Let it be, Stairway to heaven and one or two more I can't remember :)
Funny how mark would be thinking in Chord arpeggios over the chords in the progression rather than the scale
Isn't the scale staring from the G string to E, part of the F major scale???
👏👏👏👍👍
👏👏👏
I want to save this
Tap the three dots in the right corner and save it to playlist 🙂
❤ wow
I think one should learn the box formations so you can forget them.
Чтоб сиграть эти аккорды надо быть или осьминогом или гинекологом
Nice. Now try playing the outro solo. Whole different ballgame!

👍👍👍👍
Upvote for not using a pic ;)
Fucking awesome
Juicy lucy
Isn't it A minor scale, why D natural? Should we not have b flat in d natural minor? Please help me understand.
I'm playing in D Minor. There is B flat in D minor
Está en "F" o esyoy mal? O loq seria igual "Dm"
Top
It's not A, it's A7..... Great video though.
У меня лопнул мозг😮
