Beautiful game...memories of this boardgame when it was settled on the table...and the epic battles..beuatiful fantasy strategic game .Pity the are not many expansions ...but I have the base game with it has a plenty of replaybility,
Video is quite old but a couple of things to note since I just came across it. The beads aren't needed for the extra giants and two giants weren't missing from the game. Those tiles should list 1 giant instead of 2. That's listed as errata for the 1st edition. Also, if you have the second edition, the restrictions for placing home markers is less. You can place them next to mountains and rivers and you only need to be 3 hexes (not 4) away from another home tile.
Thank you for your update. I am glad people are still finding my old videos. Perhaps I will do a new one with the 2nd edition rules as that is what people will be buying now. We shall see if time will be kind enough for that venture.
A well done guide, bravo my friend! Ive been eyeing this game for a while but still havent bought it. Having a hard enough time getting my group together for TI3 so yet another massive game maybe isnt the best idea :)
Instead of separating the hero decks, why not just draw until you get a hero that is your alignment, and bury ones that don't fit? Seems like this would make that step faster, and in a game that requires so much set up, it seems like that would be a good thing?
I think that during the battle the rock could've attacked back even though it died because it has the same initiative as the reanimates right? I mean the draw order is sequential but the resolution is simoltanious. I am not sure. p22 Concurrent atack rule images-cdn.fantasyflightgames.com/filer_public/9f/aa/9faa23a3-9f71-4c77-865f-bba4aac8a258/runewars-revised-_rulebook.pdf
Wow, I tried watching two other intros to this game and this was the only one where the narrator knew how to adjust the focus. So far so good.
lol 7 years later and its still the only video where the narrator knows how to focus

FYI, this game takes no where near as long as TI3.
Thumbs up and I just watched the intro so far. I am sure I'm in for a pretty good video :)
Would you be able to count the map tile size from bottom to top and from left to right? Would love to know in CMs
Great video in general!

This video is gold
Thanks for the excellent review. What is the name of the expansion you mentioned? Thanks.

Is this the first or second edition. I'm trying to find the differences. just heard about this game and it looks pretty cool.
This is the first edition.
