Hi Garry, I just wanted to thank you for all the effort you went to produce the inkvent videos. The gifts from your "loving wife" have inspired my partner and I to the same for Christmas this year. Thank you for saving our Christmas in 2024!
I’m going to ink up day 2 Cashmere Rose, day 3 Early Dust, day 5 Nightfall, day 8 Jacaranda, day 19 Cinnabon, and day 24 Sugar Snap. Enjoyed your video and the colors and pens you chose.
Thanks for all the work you do to share these videos, Garry. I probably like Velvet Emerald the most, but I must own 8-10 inks that are very similar. Best wishes for the new year!
I liked them all, but I do agree with Bah Humbug being one of the top 5 for me. Moonbeam with its magical light shimmer, and Glacier with its thick silvery appearance are also special. For crisp writing I appreciated Early Dusk, Nightfall, Walnut, Tinsel, Fireside snug and Sugar Snap. I love the Weeping willow and Cinnabun for its nice shading and muted impression, nice for painting too. All in all, 2023 inkvent from Diamine was a nice experience.
Very nice selection. I was a bit surprised that there were a lot of paler inks as were shimmer inks. I do like darker inks, myself. I think Moonbeam (?) May have been my favorite this year. Happy New Year, Garry!
I did think this year was a bit overloaded with shimmer/chameleon inks. My count was 16 out of the 25. I do like the Bah Humbug, and the shimmer hasn't caused any issues with the pen I'm testing it in.
The cinnabun does have a strong smell, and I found it a very wet ink as well. I used a glass pen for testing and it just about slipped right off the pen very quickly. I didn't understand the sugar snap colour. I was thinking of the biscuit (sugar snap, honey snap, brandy snap etc which seemed like it fit with the Christmas theme). I only just realised it's because... sugar snap peas. Doh!
Minor correction, Sweet Dreams from Day 7 was also a scented ink. It stuck in my head because to me it smells like a cold medicine, which seemed dark with the name to me. Edit: As for my favorites, I would go with day 5 Nightfall, day 8 Jacaranda, day 12 Bah Humbug, day 23 Fireside Snug, and the big one, day 25 Raise a Glass.
I have 2 Just Turnings Mimas and I LOVE them. Cinnabun wasn't the only scent. There was a pink one, Sweet Dreams? I'm hoping they do bigger bottles of Rainbow's end, Masquerade, Glacier, Merry & Bright, Trannguility and Jacaranda, I prefer vibrant colour and sheen.
I think the Glacier is my favourite: have put it in a broad nibbed TWSBI ECO (so it's easy to see when it's cleaned out again). Definitely getting a full bottle of that if they bring one out. Also like Nightfall.
how fun, thanks Garry

Beautiful choices for the season Garry. Season's greetings and have a happy new year.
👍
Lavender Frost is my favorite. I also like Velvet Emerald, Cashmere Rose, Masquerade, and Walnut. Thanks for the video.

Thank you, that's really appreciated.
It is such a nice way to celebrate the run-up to Christmas, and adds a bit of fun to the videos.

Another great video Garry,I love my handmade pens better than any grail pen & usually a lot cheaper.
I'm hoping to grow my collection of handmade pens this year. I've seen another maker in Australia that I want to try.
I liked the astral ink. But I also agree with you. I struggled to find my favorites. This was my first inkvent so not sure I would purchase again.
👍. This was my third, and although I enjoy them all I did think this year was a bit overloaded with shimmer/chameleon inks.

I thought the sugar snap was a bit weird as well as I don't associate sugar snap peas with Christmas.

Ahhh. I knew I'd forgotten something. I do find it a very sweet smell. I've updated my swatch cards now to indicate that it is scented.
@@GarryEvesTo me it has a floral scent. Not a particularly useful ink for me LOL.

Another day I ind interesting is Glacier, but I reserve the right to change my mind after I put it in a pen.
I know what you mean. I think the list would be slightly different if I recorded it today.
