I love this song. Every time I hear it, which is rarely on the radio, it takes me straight back to the never ending sunshine of 1995 and being at college, and living in a rented place with my parents for a few months in-between us moving houses.
Been hearing this in the background of The Vic in Classic Eastenders for about 6 months now ....can’t believe I’ve actually found it!!! 👏🏻👏🏻 Happy memories of 1995 🤩
Absolutely brilliant tune always reminds me when my eldest daughter was born in the summer of 95. Great memories of a great song. This 1 is for u Leah.❤
Nostalgia @1995...got this as a single at Virgin Records in Manchester, England. Has it been 22yrs?! Oh well, the song is still as good as I remember it🙌🏼
Not content with having a gang of truly talented players, a pair of fantastic songwriters, one of my absolutely fave guitarists, possibly the 20th century's finest lyricist and a seemingly inexhaustible supply of classic pop songs, they even manage to put one of my favourite comedy actors into the video! Way to go guys!! Incidentally I think John Thomson completely stole Cold Feet!
cant believe this only had 52k views?? or has it been posted somewhere else? one of the best summer songs of all time *this summer we'll pull all the sheets off the bed* as well as "beneath the brightness of the night" epic lyrics
I never heard this on the radio. I discovered it in '95 when I bought the Ridiculous album. It's as good now as it was then. Maybe better. Well aged, like fine wine.
I love this band. I love the bass player Keith Wilkinson. A wonderful musician and so fun to watch on stage and in their videos. Always makes me smile. I remember him from Vh1's "Bands Reunited" attempt to bring Squeeze back together in 2002. At that time an author and still a dear person, I'm sure. He's one of a short list of people I would love to meet and get a photo with someday before I hang up my microphone. :)
I share your appreciation for Keith Wilkerson. too bad John Bentley is favored by Glen and the rest of the band. I'll guess Keith has no issues getting work.
Amazing band...found them in the late seventies in a "cut-out" section, took that album home, and never stopped liking them. For me, they, like the Beatles, always sounded fresh, new, and relevant.
Uh it’s Crowded House that sounds like Squeeze. While Crowded House is a good band, Squeeze has been around longer and is a much bigger band with a lot more hits and influence in the music scene.
@@BritainsBestGuitar A matter of opinion to be honest. Neil Finn is also a great songwriter and band members underrated musicians. Glenn Tilbrook, Jools Holland, etc. superb too. They do often sound alike and considering this particular song was released in the 90's, I would say this sounded like Crowded House and not the other way round.
@@SiLatics56 I agree. Crowded House were big in the early to mid nineties whereas it was Squeeze’s first hit for many years. That was the reason I thought it was a Crowded House song.
i remember first seeing this music video on a saturday morning TV show called 'The Chart Show' on ITV, the show usually played about half of a video, then a CG pair of headphones would appear with a musical sting into the next segment on the show, even now all these years later i still remember that the headphones image/musical sting would cut into this video, -just after Glenn sings the line 'feels so good that your with me'
@@matthewbown1072 yeah me too. Got annoying those headphones and those buttons when it was a good song like this; especially when the next tune was pants! I liked this song when it came out, should have got much further.

Awesome song, and never been a summer like 1995 since.
that's so true!! if only we could relive it
This takes me back to 1995, my teen years, such an iconic time for music. Everything was perfect
One of the finest bands our country ever had, what a happy video.
This was on LW radio Atlantic 252 every 5 minutes. Loved it.
Haha yesssss!! This is how I know this song and I’m a big squeeze fan ♥️♥️♥️
That station was the absolute best!! I remember one of the Dj's Hollywood haze! 😂😂😂
Haha no way forgot about that
Used to listen in Manchester with the odd police radio frequency interrupting it
Retro
You are showing one's age. Lol great band great song great memories 👌👏👍🙌❤

This song far to good for 90s should move it back a decade or two brilliant songwriting thanks
I love this song. Every time I hear it, which is rarely on the radio, it takes me straight back to the never ending sunshine of 1995 and being at college, and living in a rented place with my parents for a few months in-between us moving houses.
Fantastic song…I can remember this being played on the radio back in the day! Great memories - can’t believe it didn’t chart higher.
Been hearing this in the background of The Vic in Classic Eastenders for about 6 months now ....can’t believe I’ve actually found it!!! 👏🏻👏🏻 Happy memories of 1995 🤩
The long hot summer of 1995. This was my song of that wonderful time of being 21 and not a care in the world
I was 20 and can relate love Squeeze and this song brings back soooooo many memories
@@raymondbonington9355 soz - I’m 49 now 😂 Any compensation???
I was 19 and just found some writing about this song in my 95 diary. Had to come here and remind myself of it. I'm 48 now 😐
The summer of 1995 went on forever ❤️
I was 10 and some bright spark on the radio put it on today.(sounds of summer) I vaguely remember it, now I can't get the fuckin' out of my head! 😅
One of my most favourite songs ever!!
Could pass for a Crowded. House track , well written and great melody
Sounds a bit like Crowded House, granted, but Squeeze are a far superior band.
LOVEDAVEGAHAN My post was only about the similarities in melody and song writing 😀
Oh yea!
@@LOVEDAVEGAHAN Actually they are both effing brilliant...
@NOT ME! ...That's very kind of you, I'll have 20 Royals !!

ADORE THIS SONG!
Absolutely brilliant tune always reminds me when my eldest daughter was born in the summer of 95. Great memories of a great song. This 1 is for u Leah.❤
God, I miss this era and the happy days.
A bit of Beatles, a dash of Split Enz, and a touch of Madness... :) And you get this rich confection of chords that is pure Squeeze.
Just a class song
Back when times were better in life where did them red hot summers go 😢
An excellent song and superb band live
Nostalgia @1995...got this as a single at Virgin Records in Manchester, England. Has it been 22yrs?! Oh well, the song is still as good as I remember it🙌🏼
24 now, Jesus Christ someone stop the clock!!
Very Neil Finn... excellent song
Yes I've always thought the same!!
i think so too, Glenn is a much better singer though
This still sounds fresh in 2021. The only clue to its age is that it doesn’t seem to reflect the gloomy times we all seem to be in these days!

They did amazing stuff, but this will always be my favourite.

Genius my fav summer song ever😊

I lived right through time period but I'm only now discovering Squeeze and I'm glad I did.
Brilliant lyrics and melody.
Man oh man, do I love this band.
This is in a back of the day in the 90's in 1995 when I was 4 years old ❤❤❤❤❤❤
Lol so British. 1995. Good days. The best. Miss my childhood. All those I loved have died now. I hate 2020.
The 2020's really suck, would happily go back to the 90s

Maybe Keith was asked but declined. Fine bassist - listen to Last Time Forever.
Keith is great and I miss him in Squeeze. Especially for his great vocals.
Can't believe this is 27 years old. Nice to see Chris using an early laptop over his lobster !
1995 my sister and I were in this music video, on one of the fairground rides, Littlehampton seafront

Hello Jon Thompson?? What you doing here ?
I remember hearing it on the radio a fair bit thought it at least got in the top 20, apparently it was remixed and did a bit better the following year
So vastly underrated,,, awesome
Thank you for uploading a video of this that we can actually clearly see! I appreciate the effort. (Great song, btw, but that goes without saying...)
