Shoutout to John for another brutal training session! So I put all of the exercises, sets, reps and intensity techniques on screen so you can follow along as you watch. The full workout is also in the description box so you can reference it later. To make it a bit more clear in case you haven't seen our other videos, John's training style is quite unique and advanced. It tends to look like this: 1. We'll do 2-4 "pyramid/ warm up sets" where we're leaving at least 2-3 reps in the tank and really focusing on developing a mind muscle connection and proper execution. These feel tougher than typical warm up sets, but are still not too taxing. 2. After these we do 1 MAIN set, where we will push to (or close to) failure and then do some kind of intensity technique to extend the set (ex. a drop set, isohold, eccentric enhancement, etc). Hope you guys enjoy the workout and if you have the chance to run it yourself, hit me up on Instagram (@jeffnippard) and let me know what you think. Also make sure you guys check out John's channel! Peace!
Love how respectful and humble Jeff is. Just another thing that sets him apart from other fitness influencers. I feel like a lot of youtubers would be showing off and making an ass of themselves around John like they had something to prove. Awesome video, learned a lot as always!
...sometimes I’m genuinely jealous of shorter guys because of how much of a difference a few extra pounds of muscle makes...but, then I get something from the top cabinet, and I feel a little better.
yeah but, they can just jump. With superior leg strength a jumping 360 uppercut is not only stylish but effective with the low angle too. The real losers are those of us who are the average height. Cursed to forever blend in with the crowd and be a jack of all trades.
I like how dog brings wisdom over knowledge, he talks about what actually feels right even if “technically” it’s wrong. Sometimes that’s incredibly valuable
You need to convince John to upgrade his camera for his channel. I swear he looks 40 pounds bigger on your camera, not to mention how clean his muscles 👀
it's the angle he films his own stuff. I noticed as well. He has a great profile that he can't show when he's standing directly facing the camera. You can't help but focus on his traps in his videos.
This is the video where I discovered John. It's been almost half a year since he passed away but he really never left. He influenced me for the rest of my life. RIP Mountain dog 💔🕊️.
Would love to train with John, getting that kind of intensity during a workout with someone so knowledgeable definitely carries over and stays with you for a long time afterwards.
He probably focuses better with headphones on and after the set he puts them down. And probably just style, I noticed that Jeff wears a hoodie or a hat and that‘s why he sometimes wears headphones
I like John. I stumbled across his videos somehow (on recommended list I'm guessing) but I'm glad I did. I'm pretty new to lifting. Just a straight up dude, no flash, no bullshit. Like the complete opposite of those Vshred and Chris Heria clowns.
Me being an older guy (43) I lo e watching the older guys show the younger guys how it's done. Good old fashion high intensity workouts before anyone ever heard of overtraining. Great video definitely going to use some of the techniques I saw
Wow, this is pure gold my friend! Legends doesnt have to win Mr. Olympia to makes a difference! We want more good stuff like this! You have another subscriber!
@@gendale9992 He is right though, this pump and fluff training wont give you any muscle it will just give you an insane pump that temporarily make your muscles look bigger. Increase in actual skeletal muscle mass comes from increase in performance, preferably on the compound movements.
Just did this tonight and I BARELY did it. The pump was insane and gave me a seriously hard time but definitely will be adding this! Thanks Jeff this was awesome and had trouble taking out the trash tonight🤣 no joke
Having headphones on when training with the mountain dog is the equivalent of sitting with Einstein explaining the theory of everything with them on good job you threw them on the floor 😂
There was a fantastic back and forth chat on technical form throughout this workout that I really enjoyed. It's great seeing someone on the same wavelength as Jeff banter with him.
John might very well be my favorite dude out there in the lifting sphere; along with Jim Wendler and the rest of those dudes, they all keep it honest and the style they go about it is incredibly refreshing. The no bullshit, no nonsense approach to physical culture.
Seeing you both together training I've just realized more and more these past few weeks that your channel and Johns have become my go to youtube channels for inspiration and enjoyable content. The Mountain Dog's channel is one (if not the only channel) on youtube where 9 times out of ten I can watch any one of his vids and learn something new. Great vid Jeff
For me personally it works wonders to use heavy weight for little reps in a piramid type of style. Get your max weight for 6 reps and work up in 3-4 sets to your one rep max. But I have to add that I've coached a few friends and they all responded in a different way so try it out and see if it works for you
Jeff, this is so valuable! I can't believe you are giving this away for free on your youtube channel!! You could have made this a digital download for sale bro! I just have no other words! HUGE shoutout to John Meadows for collaborating with you on this!
These two together seem amazing. This is my first videos with them. One wants to learn and one wants to teach without making someone feel uncomfortable.
great to see some of the original generation of guys bringing good info to the internet via t-nation etc collaborating with the best of the youtube generation. lets get dave tate, dan john, jim wendler and mark rippetoe on here. these dudes have so much experience and wisdom i could listen to them for hours.

surprised you didnt talk about lil waynes new album
Why'd you have to come when I'm in school my guy? I work out here when I'm home
Jeff Nippard I just finished this workout I done with arms for at least 4-5 days... I follow Mountain Dog to i my calves popping, Jon is the man
18:13 look at how happy John gets when Jeff remembered what he was taught previously. He was a real teacher.
RIP John Meadows.
Love how respectful and humble Jeff is. Just another thing that sets him apart from other fitness influencers. I feel like a lot of youtubers would be showing off and making an ass of themselves around John like they had something to prove. Awesome video, learned a lot as always!
But what about the cholesterol ?:))))))
normal.. most guys would try to sound impress him just like most female youtubers make videos just showing their asses but giving little knowledge
Stop using the words “fitness influencer”.
I agree both of these guys together is what all gyms need super humble older and younger guys working out together making each other better.
Definitely agree with him being humble. It's also refreshing to see him honestly struggle with some of it and fully admit it.
Their chemistry is so wholesome, a seasoned veteran willfully teaching a motivated learner. Just positivity all around.
You’ll never see this collab again so enjoy it
RIP Mountain Dog! I always go back to this vid whenever I wanna do an extra day for arms! Helped a lot! Thanks for the knowledge, John!
Me too!
How did he pass away? RIP.
He’s not dead
Edit: I was mistaken cuz I just started following the channel recently & someone keeps posting to it R.I.P. 🙏🏾
One of the best!!!
@@Drip4Less_ Did he has a stroke?
"You remembered!" The pure joy in John's face when he realized Jeff remembered his posing tip damn near made me cry. RIP, John. What a legend.

Well the wisdom is knowledge combined with experience so I should hope so xP
He really did have a heart of gold. Rest easy.
His pikahuge tank was the LAST thing I expected a big muscular man to wear lmao
It's coral. Not pink.
I watched a Jeff + John video last night and in that one John was wearing a MLP (I think) shirt, I forget the saying on it though. Lol
16:17 That slap tho 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
lmao haha jeff has some awkward moments with this guy, so funny
"Just a little extra volume" after like 50 isolation sets haha what a great guy
