  • Darwin, the 7-year-old, Bichon Frise, presented to SEVN after falling off the bed and experiencing back pain. After examination, SEVN performed an MRI which revealed a disc herniation, or IVDD, and he was immediately taken into spinal surgery.
IVDD can be described as a slipped disc, ruptured disc, herniated disc, or bulging disc, depending on the type of damage that occurs. If a disc swells or ruptures, it may strike or compress the spinal cord, affecting a pet’s ability to walk.
Thanks to the swift action and expertise of the SEVN team, Darwin bounced back remarkably fast post-surgery. Now, he's happily swimming and running with his beloved family again.
