Very tough for Sgt Brown after a professional life of intimidation to stand corrected by someone half his age ... the cops get to comfortable with colour of law and will learn the hard way if necessary, by their own rules, that is, the courts! Exactly, but yet if I touch a cop, I got 6 of them on top of me trying to hand cuff me, but that tyrant can just grab a random person's phone and break they're items and walk away, and the LT was just like "cmon, it's not a big deal that your property got broken, just buy a new one" like wtf.
Indeed...just the mention of any possible accountability gets a "c'mon" and a giggle. While if anyone grabbed an object from a LEO's hand like that they would be on the ground being handcuffed...followed by prison.
The fact that he said "dont u think thats a little (extreme)?" And "we're cops" shows us VERY clearly the lens through which he views his responsibility, the constitution, and how he operates in his role.
Exactly! Trashy Mike Brown went and proved their point for them by breaking the law multiple times and then getting offended when the victims were upset about it.
I hate that fake apology sh!t. "I'm sorry you feel that way." "I'm sorry I made you feel like that." .... that's not an apology for actions. They felt they did NO wrong and apologized for nothing.
Well, you have your opinion. It's unfortunate you feel that way. (Sarcasm, brother. I also hate it when they blame the other person's feelings rather than taking recognizing the actions which inspired the feelings).
Why? ... their ability to intimidate goes to their head. It takes an enlightened self aware cop to stay grounded, quite rare. Eh, toddlers are more straight-forward. They’d just start screaming. I’m thinking tweens and teens with that “your problem” backsass. Or, of course, manipulative adults.
@@BeeWhistler yup. This is manipulative behaviour. Most adults who do it does it from automatic behaviour in their social interactions. They aren't even aware of what they are doing. They think it's normal logical/rational approach to the situation. They should all read up on social intelligence. So that they can expand their social understanding and be better officers. In order to not escalate situation. But honestly. Many of the videos you see online. Shows that most officers seems to be trained to the opposite. To escalate situations in order to warrant arrest. And i don't think half the officers knows that what they are learning is exactly what is bringing them in these situations. They need to stop listening to tips from their co workers and start reading up on things that can improve them as human beings and officers.
All the "good cops" just stood there and watched this officer assault and violate this man's rights, which is a felony. Ban the blue line gangs and abolish qualified immunity
Facts, Its sad that "politics" and "ranks" actually impede and stop the "good cops" from doing what is right. I guess they're all just trying to not make waves, even tho thats the only way change will happen. What we have here is a high ranking officer acting a fool in front of a bunch of "chill" beat cops. The beat cops are too afraid of that SGT to do anything. God knows if a citizen grabed for and damaged a body cam of a cop they'd be lucky to still be alive. Even the LT's attitude reflects that, saying its different because they are cops. Stupid. That old ass man in blue was just being bully and no one stopped him cuz of his rank...
“If I snatched something out of your hand would you arrest me for assault?” “Yes but that’s different. We are the police.” There you go that says it all
Wild how he says that with a straight face, they actually believe that. Police are suppose to be held to a higher standard not a lower one. I gotta stop watching this stuff it pissed me off lol.
IMO it was a mistake for the auditors to call it assault, though in most places assault and battery are indistinguishable it's clearly a different thing in Arkansas. They should have been saying "battery" because that's what actually happened. Sgt Mike Brown also broke the law by giving unlawful orders, but hey he's a cop "it's different"
A great example of this was posted on The Civil Rights Lawyer's channel a couple days ago. In the video titled "Cops Paralyze Handcuffed Man (He Died) | What Happened to the Cops?" the cops slam a handcuffed guy's head against concrete breaking his neck, then jerked him into a park bench. At this point he is paralyzed from the neck down. At one point his head rolls into the torso of the cop holding him up and the cop threatens to hit him with something like felony assault on an officer if he does that again.
Seconds later he directly admits it! "I was laughing because you said you were assaulted." Laughing when citizens lodge complaints about criminal activity is NOT becoming for any officer, but especially a LIEUTENANT.
So th police are allowed to waste and ruin years of your life when you committed no crime, but you arent allowed to ask questions to a non-busy cop? Hmmm
The scariest part is that was the LIEUTENANT of the department who was out there laughing at them about being upset that a sergeant aggressively accosted them and thought they were being overdramatic when they said they wanted to file a complaint.... As high of a rank as a LIEUTENANT, and he thinks its perfectly fine what his sergeant did to citizens not breaking any laws... Thats not only disgusting, but terrifying. Imagine what else he lets slide at that department ... Apparently once you become a police officer there, youre allowed to blatantly break the law without any repercussions .
Once again the cops are proudly holding them themselves to a lower standard... If you take a cop's camera you immediately go to jail and likely get very beat up in the process. If the cops illegally take your camera, they find it laughable that you would expect the same accountability.
Being fair, you should, for your own safety, never speak to a police officer. Anything you say, however obliquely tied to whatever they want to pin on you, can and will be used against you, and there is nothing in it for them if it could help you.
@@RandyBurgertime That's what the auditors are fighting against. It's an incredibly hard fight to break up the culture of police intimidation. I couldn't do it.

It shouldn’t be. If it legally is it shouldn’t. Getting someone’s property out of your face or personal bubble isn’t the same as touching someone or spitting on someone
@thornie123 If a threat is put into someone's personal space, that makes sense. In this case, that's not what happened. The SGT approached the man with a non-threatening object in his hand only to snatch it when the man he approached rotated the direction of said object.

The Lt needs to be disciplined as well. Just blindly backing the Sgt under him. The disconnect of LEO and public keeps growing. The Sgt copslaining instead of just admitting his wrong, paying for the camera mount and apologizing. The department needs a deeper dive in how they operate. Their actions in this video shows the department disgracing the city
Not just the city, but Law Enforcement as a profession. We the public should be able to trust LEOs with our lives, but officers like the ones in this video keep proving why we can't trust them with anything - no matter how trivial.
As a outsider from South Africa I couldn't understand why in some videos civilians has an almost hatred of the police, but after watching a couple of episodes like these, it's amazing that the public even wants to interact with them.

“He told me to back up so I backed up” Officer: “well that’s good, I believe you” “Then he assaulted me, broke my property, and threatened arrest” Officer: “well that’s not good, I no longer believe you”
Why do they have to act that way? I mean, if I was a cop and these fine fellas came up to me, nicely asked some questions, i'd be just as cool as they were. That one cop was something else. Just crazy.
It's actually a very well known phenomenon with a logical explanation. If you have to be on guard every day, and criminals are indistinguishable from the population you are protecting it makes it almost impossible to prevent an Us and Them mindset from developing over time. Every citizen is a potential enemy (criminal), and can't be trusted. If you trust the wrong person it might get you killed, so it's safer to trust no one. Except the fellow officers who are going through the same as you are.

But honestly. Many of the videos you see online. Shows that most officers seems to be trained to the opposite. To escalate situations in order to warrant arrest. And i don't think half the officers knows that what they are learning is exactly what is bringing them in these situations. If you “touch” a cop lightly you can be arrested. battery. cops can do this to people and go hands on for even no reason and you catch a battery.
Cop: “when did I laugh?”
Auditor: “I have you on video laughing!”
Cop: *laughs*
I was waiting for the auditor to go "you're doing it again"... xD
Hmmm
Cops are allowed stop and talk or knock and talk but not people?
Um, those cops were very busy. They had a lot of sitting on their ass to do.
So if you can't talk to a cop when they are doing official business, you are not allowed to talk to them if they question you, makes sense.
You are only allowed to say what they want to hear.
Being fair, you should, for your own safety, never speak to a police officer. Anything you say, however obliquely tied to whatever they want to pin on you, can and will be used against you, and there is nothing in it for them if it could help you.

Absolutely nailed it when you called the department and LT trash. If he wasn't trash he wouldn't be bothered by your comment.
LT: "he told me this this and this and I believe him."
Auditor: "well here's what really happened."
LT: "well I can't just believe what someone tells me"
Cops blew it from the get go... their answer should have been "we can't comment on an on-going incident."
Preferring not to say is not saying one way or another. It’s stating that you don’t want to share your opinion.
I don't blame him for his reply. Dude doesn't want to lose his job, and giving comment to a journalist about a case that will likely end in litigation is a terrible idea
Lol, it's like walking into McDonald's and asking the cashier to say their manager is a jerk. Seems like these are more off the clock/off the record type questions.
@micfail2 if a cop won't do the right thing due to fear of losing their job, they are a bad cop!
You'd think an "auditor" would know this, considering it's the same basic logic for the 5th
That's what your focus is on in this video? Lol okay
"That wasn't assault" ARE YOU F**KING KIDDING ME!!!!!! If a civilian even tenses up when a cop grabs them they hit them with "assaulting an officer" charge every God damned time. THIS SH!T right here is why people hate cops.
Yeah. They suck a lot.
AMEN! if you so much as ward off the blows raining down on you it's assault and battery on a police officer !
So you'll say shit but not fuck. Make censorship make sense.
Be mad at youtube, not people trying to speak their peace without having their comments shadowbanned. @@CaptainXJ
@@CaptainXJ what's wrong with self censorship?
Spoiler Alert - get ready to be ceaselessly barraged with grunting sounds throughout.
Well, I guess Sarg. answered your question about going hands-on over littering. 😂😂😂 At least the Chief recognized that his Officer was in the wrong and paid him for his broken equipment.
Bald cop at the end was such a douche. Gaslighting them so hard into thinking what the offender cop did wasn't a big deal when he clearly assaulted them. Gtfo. Calling him trash was spot on
I don't think douchr is an appropriate term for him. He was pretty argumentative at first, but after being shown the video his perspective changed. That's all you can ask of someone really.
@@Oggy_597check your bias, dude smirked at a citizen for wanting to file an assault charge WITHOUT SEEING ANY EVIDENCE.
cops earn the hate, baldy included.
@@Oggy_597also, his perspective didn’t change, he just reverted to shutting up. Blue wall of silence.
Please sue these tyrants!!!!
Criminal cops escalated this because they didn’t like the question they agreed to answer.
If no one takes out the trash, it's gonna start to stink 🤷♂️
Whats up with the grunting sounds?😂 sounds like someone is taking poison damage -1hp
Sgt. Brown ego got in his way. That Lt saying I'm special bc I'm a officer is a douche
Its so crazy how the cops always fall right into these auditor's trap. The cops are well aware that these guys are trying to provoke them and are looking for a lawsuit, but their egos are so massive they can't resist engaging with them an end up violating their rights. Literally all the cops have to do is say they aren't interested in talking and walk away.
A Sargent has to be restrained by his subordinate 😆 then his superior says it would be assault if they did that to a cop but not when done to them by a cop. Talk about low IQ. These cops shouldn’t be security guards let alone police.
The larger officer , Sargent, who took umbrage to the other officers is slurring his words. It is obvious he’s intoxicated on duty. He is also swaying and becoming belligerent. He needs a field sobriety test.
Press charges for assault
He reminds me of Sean Reyes from Long Island Audit. Very chill and willing to educate but doesn’t take shit when it’s given.
Disgusting behavior by the cops
