What brought me here was my very first love, Paul, who was the first to ever introduce me to Rod McQuen's works, back in 1970. It was such a special time in my life and I don't mind saying that it was also so very pure and innocent. Paul used to paint in the park, while I sat next to him writing my poems.. and I attributed my writing back then to R.M. Paul passed away this Jan and for some reason I was moved to search out Rod M after all these years again. And, so glad that I did. RIP Rod. And.. RIP Paul~ ❣️❣️
I have had a long lasting appreciation for Rod MCKuen --Not a great singer but , He was a magician with words , his lyrics are haunting , especialy for those who know about LOVE
I have always loved Rod Mckuen and own all of his poetry that were available in the UK. He helped enormously through all the lonely times. God bless you dear Rod.
i won a solo synchro-swim comp, at age 11, to a very disonant Rod McKuen tume, instrumental, in 1969: such a YEAR ♡♡♡ i had his books of poetry too: i was too young for a lot of it, but osmosis, is an essentially great thing♡♡♡ ty so much ! ♡♡**
Was given a book of his. In 69 in the Hospital Then a few years later, a Cousin had the trilogy. "The Sea", I tracked it down. and purchased it. Was hooked. Just kicked back, and relaxed. helps with stress! We became internet friends. in the new millennium. He even called me. great man, so smart. RIP. My Friend. 😍
O my God... you are walking down this path. How can I help..." to kiss away the rain?" X))) ) "Love has been good to me." Love from Charles... in LA. upon this date and time.
ONLY ONE ROD MCKUEN. BUT I DO HAVE A FRIEND IN CALIFORNIA THAT COMES IN CLOSE SECOND. IF I COULD I WOULD GET MY BEST FRIENDS WORK OUT THERE FOR THE WHOLE WORLD TO SEE AND HEAR.
"We used to go a courtin' along October Hill"...speaks of an older, gentler time. Love Frank Sinatra's version of this song, too. If you read his Wikipedia article, you'll see that this song is very much an autobiography.
My God, he’s a song writer. This is his song. Stop comparing him to Sinatra. Sinatra was the greatest interpreter of popular music ever. McKuen wrote some great songs. Sinatra interpreted them. The end.
*This song is immortal. It should be listened many times every single day!*
