How wonderful to know that Don Mclean could write the sweetest words to this romantic ballad, probably the sweetest love song of all time, to a sweet melody There were others who did also sing this in their own way, but this tribute is to the originator, Don Mclean who was inspired to write and express the way that we feel, when we experience a true love glad to find this on your channel today and i wish to compliment you too.

Hello beautiful, how are you doing today pretty woman?
There's been many renditions of this spellbinding tune, everyone from Elvis to Shirley Bassey, but Don's version is the best for me
'the book of life is brief and once the page is read , all but love is dead , that is my belief '
well crafted amd haunting words !
We need romantic love and friendships! Too much emnity out here!!!
A beautiful song. Don is such a talented singer, songwriter and guitarist. Perry Como did a good enough job with his easy listening cover, but Don's original is something else.
guitar playing and voice...and words, amazing. Beautiful!
Those were the magical moments ...
What a great talent. His music was so wonderful. Bye bye Miss American Pie got me thru some tough times. It made me happy when I was dealing with some sad times.
Hello Kathy, How are you doing?
Pure music, for the want of expression. Now many artist like this around anymore. Was blessed to see you in concert Don Mclean. Wanna see you again.
wow that was such a bless! hope I get it too, but never when he was young, and soooo attractive.
I could not have thought higher of this guy. what a freaking talent. I hope he's happy now. He deserves to be. He made a lot of other people happy. I always thought of him as the Real Deal.
The romantic song ever
Don McLean was GENIUS! So many songs in our sub-consciousness that were his brainchildren. Soooo good, I heard this on a best-of this morning and it nearly brought me to tears, and that don't happen often. Nice stuff
Brilliant song and don mackine and his music are so beautiful I can’t believe they are doing that with their songs in their studio but they do have their songs and their vocals are amazing
Don Mclean is one of my favorite singer way back in my youth. I love all his songs.
I love the song and his voice is awesome !!!

Hello beautiful, how are you doing today pretty woman?
Today 15-1-2021 l still listening to his song... ageless evergreen song and singer.
Beautiful. Debbie, this reminds me of you.
Love this song i met my husband 11 years on yahoo chat never would never thought
How wonderful to know that Don Mclean
could write the sweetest words to this
romantic ballad, probably the sweetest
love song of all time, to a sweet melody
There were others who did also sing this
in their own way, but this tribute is to the
originator, Don Mclean who was inspired
to write and express the way that we feel,
when we experience a true love
glad to find this on your channel today and
i wish to compliment you too.
the most profound words. married 27 years and still in love
And I Love You So
And I love you so,
The people ask me how,
How I've lived till now
I tell them I don't know
I guess they understand
How lonely life has been
But life began again
The day you took my hand
And yes I know how lonely life can be
Shadows follow me
The night won't set me free
But I don't let the evening get me down
Now that you're around me
And you love me too
Your thoughts are just for me
You set my spirit free
I'm happy that you do
The book of life is brief
Once the page is read
All but love is dead
This is my belief
And yes I know how loveless life can be
Shadows follow me
The night won't set me free
But I don't let the evening get me down
Now that you're around me
And I love you so,
The people ask me how,
How I've lived till now
I tell them I don't know

This song should be prescribed by the doctors as medicine...for mental cure! Thanks Don for your sweet voice.
everyone's been in love ... at least once :) Don McLean reaffirms my faith in love - love and let live
I agree. This beautiful song is like a gentle hand soothing away the pain.
Anne Hajdu I agree
That’s what I’m doing when my insanity sits in. I think he understands sadness so well, Vincent for one. He’s a troubadour indeed.
Absolutely right !!!❤️
I love this song, reminds me of someone special in life.

My very favorite love song. Cant sing it without crying. Vincent as well.
We had it so good in the 60's/70's.
Without a doubt one of the greatest songs ever written and performed.
Elvis did a compelling version.
Elvis sang this the best
Elvis loved this song and sang it often.
The same can be said on all his songs. Iconic. Vincent, American Pie... So amazing
When I was at Barrington College in the early 70's, my friend, Barb, and I would listen to Don Mclean, especially going to the Providence Mall for strawberry cheesecake. Brings back alot of memories.
Don McLean is a musician and a poet. Every single song he wrote is a gem in notes and in words. I also love the shots of the audience. He has them completely spellbound.
this song brings a sense of peacefulness in my spirit, better to live in those days.
I love the simplicity of this song
this is one of the greatest love songs and dons voice is beautiful if it dosent make you cry i dont know what will
Elvis's version will yank a tear or two...
Almost couldn't read your post Keith for the tears in my eyes!
I think im the only one here listening to it, this quarantine times
I am too
Ditto
I’m here.
Me too
I’m here
Elvis had it all and could sing any kind of song, not just rock & roll, Elvis had the looks , the charm and wasa great entertainer. The sad part of the Elvis history is that he never got to record over seas and Cd video's were not out at his time, we'll never know how big he could have been. He had to a Bad manager, I would have love to see him record song with some of the great ones of my time...
I'm from year 2089 and still listening to this. Soaks me with love..❤

@@donmclean8257 my, is that really you Sir? Thank you for your comment! Your song Vincent is still my favorite song. The melancholy, the poetry, the sheer emotion the song brings... To me it's something I could never express in words. You have brought into this world something so beautiful and pure and I can't thank you enough. It's a privilege that I live so that I can listen to your songs. God bless you, Sir!
@@princecharlo3122 yes it's me John Deacon thanks for your wonderful wishes and comment it's a pleasure to me. If you don't mind I would like to have a personal conversation with you to know more about your good thoughts and advice towards me as a fan of mine.
I love listening to him talk to the audience.
I was so lucky to see him perform many times....in Montreal and Toronto...right around this time period and later on..back when talented people like him and Janis Ian were writing songs that had true meaning and depth. Thks for posting.
And I love you so.... You set my spirit free..... All but life is dead. I know how lifeless life can be... Shadows follow me...

I am still here, listening. When you find a good musician you hang on like glue. Was it only 40 years ago I found you, nay, must be a bit more, like almost 50.

Such a fantastic song writer, and performer...there is an introspection and depth to his songs that you just don't seem to find with many artists these days.
A masterpiece
Have know this song since I was a little girl... am divorced, but if I ever remarry, I want this played at my wedding... this is such a beautiful song...
Hello Marilyn, How are you doing?

marjanmarianne i love you so
Lovely song !!!!!
Obrigada pela letra, que coisa linda
This man is a great solo performer. Great voice, good songs. I like his guitar playing, as he is a finger picker with finger picks. It is all you need: a guitar and voice. Wonderful.
I keep returning to this video, his voice in this live recording is soooo warm and loving. Makes me shiver every time.
Don is good, Elvis is great that is the differance between them. Elvis is the greatest entertainer in the World when he was alive , but as we all know till today his voice is one of the greatest. Don is only around today because of this song. Elvis is around because he was and is the greatest, Hands down.,.
Today is 47 years still listening to his song. Agelessness living evergreen singer and friend.

Lyrics:
And I love you so
The people ask me how
How I've lived till now
I tell them I don't know
I guess they understand
How lonely life has been
But life began again
The day you took my hand
And yes, I know how lonely life can be

But I don't let the evening get me down
Now that you're around me
And you love me, too
Your thoughts are just for me

These are different to what he sang.
He came to York just recently. Still going! Played this too. Legend.
I am his super fan since Middle School and recently watched a commentary on his career. He is also a good horseman!!
