Great video! I had a couple Sportsters back in the '70s. Lately, I've been remembering how much fun they were to ride. Of course, part of that might be because I was in my twenties back then! 😆 Never did any cross country rides with them but did long local rides. 1000 CC iron heads with 4 speed transmissions weren't really conducive to racking up a lot of miles. I've done a lot of touring since then including many cross country trips but on big twin baggers. I miss those early days though. Maybe because the US population was over 100 million less people back then and things were different. Simpler, slower, more friendly. This video has me thinking I should pick up another Sportster and try to recapture those days. 👍
Nothing better than riding thru the Canadian Rockies on a motorcycle. Did the same ride but from Saskatchewan to radium hot springs, then up to ToadRock campground on our way to Sturgis this summer.
hello from california i really enjoyed this video awesome adventure i ride a sportster myself and oi love it i am a new subscriber to your channel keep posting ride safe
I remember we rode panheads from Maryland to Arizona,we were going to California but only made it to Arizona, we were 16 , 17 years old no money or maps and had a blast, worked side jobs all the way across and back, now that we are all old and have big dressers and all the riding gear I can’t get anyone to go anywhere, it’s sad , keep going and have fun
Did you go to Radium Springs? It’s great, we did the Rockies trip last year,, Calgary Banff Golden jasper whistler Vancouver, loved it beautiful Canada 🇨🇦 ❤
This great. Too bad you didn’t video some of the repair once you got the primary open to show what you fixed, it would have added some nice contrast to this trip. You guys are a lot younger than me haha but I’m hoping to get my passport and get to ride my sporty to Canada in 2024. - Xena @ the XL forum.
In a day where 800lb baggers are becoming the norm, there is alot to say about enjoying a smaller, lighter motorcycle. If your not making 200 mile trips on a regular basis, a Sportster with upgraded rear shocks and a set of soft bags can provide you a very enjoyable experience.
Hey Chad, thanks for watching! I forget the exact part name but basically a little clip holding the gear changing plate on broke. To get to it was the hardest part, luckily we ended up in a store parking lot and were able to get tools.
Harley Davidson Sportster, its the smallest true Harley (not a Buell) in their line up. Comes as either an 883cc or a 1200cc engine. Lots of people say they're too small to road trip.
I really enjoyed every minute of this video. The scenery in Canada is gorgeous.❤❤❤
Thanks Dean!
Thats what a riding BUDDY is all about !! bravo
He was a true buddy! He was very patient and willing to help.
@@deanbush I wish I had a true riding buddy like that 👍
@@MountainGoat67 Doesn't everybody!

Nice vid mate.
Thanks for watching! I know what you mean for sure!
The 1200 isn't the smallest but i honestly keep mine within 100mi per trip. Love ripping around town on mine lol. Beautiful bikes!

That's awesome! We rode through it but only had time for some hotsprings in part 2 of the trip.
Nice ride bro
You guys may want to try rainX for the windshield …next time.
What was the actual problem with the clutch? Great video and adventure BTW.
WOW!

Did you guys have an impact wrench in your luggage? Having taken the primary off my Sportster I know it's not exactly a roadside repair... Well done!
We did not, got lucky and limped it into a town where we got a cheap one and did it all there.
The scenery is top notch. What was wrong with the bike
Great trip, and well done on the video. You are so lucky to have BC right in your back yard. What year(s) are these Sportsters?

Great vid. I too like to take my sporty on longer trips. What happened to his clutch? What did you have to do to fix it?

To cool man.
What model sportster was your buddy riding? A 72? Awesome trip!
His is a 2001 Sportster 1200
Can you advise as to info on the red Sporty ? Year, etc.
I know the blue one is a 1200C
01 sporty 1200. Probably the dankest bike on the road
Call me some time man. Miss you and hope you’re doing well! Looks like you are!
