I have eyed this up for a while. I’m delighted to see it reviewed.
Reminds me of the explorer II but with enough touches not to be a direct homage. I’ve always admired Ball watches and their history.
But why would they make such a lovely functional tool watch on a polished bracelet with a butterfly clasp? Makes no sense.
Had this been a Matt finish with a std clasp and micro adjustment this would be worth a very serious look.
Thanks again for reviewing this and your invaluable honest insights Barry
It would be a simple job to brush the bracelet matey and yeah I'd liked to of seen it with a standard clasp to , as it stands I'd place it straight on one of my friends John thick brown leather strap 👍🏻
I've handled the black dialled one, and I really like it. Overall, it is a high quality watch with nice and useful features (incl. its reasonable dimensions). One thing I noticed was how "blingy" the watch is with its polished and brushed surfaces. You would normally associate tritium tubes with pure tool/military watches, while this one mixes bling & utility. While I would prefer a standard foldover clasp, the butterfly clasp does make the bracelet more streamlined on the wrist.
The bling I find give it a expensive feel and I'm with you on the foldover clasp too the butterfly just doesn't work for me , I do feel this is a big step up for them but many people don't like the price tag which comes along with this. For some reason they think because its a Ball it should be half the price
Thanks Barry! Definitely I will give it a try😊
I think it a very cool model Mitch
Great review. Interesting watch design and I never knew that Ball used Tritium tubes. As to the cyclops lens, if watches came without, I’d be super happy, but it is what it is.
This is one very impressive watch matey especially at the price
Wow like that especially with the white dial
Yeah I think so to Chris but there is also a black dial which looks good also
Hi Barry, I really like this complication: it's useful for me living close to Poole and not too far from Portsmouth. This looks a really cool watch Barry... thanks for the review. LG Bob 🍰🍰🍰
Hi Bob its pretty hard to fault this one just the bracelet maybe lets it down a little , I'd swap it out for one of john's thick leather straps 👍🏻 ,
I always wanted that one and only daily wear for the winter season here in cold norway, but never found it. Wanted it to be a Explorer 2 vibe and when ball announced this one i thought the black dial one was it for me. But the size and L2L seemed way too small. Your wrist size is similar to mine and it looks right at home and not small at all. You came out with this review at the right time because an AD has a black week 25% off on this one right now. Held off because i had no idea how small it would look on me.
Excellent Sir I honestly think it a great watch with some interesting details . Let me know what you think of it after a week or so I'd be interested to know your thoughts 👍🏻
Great review as always. I had a good look & tried the Outlier on at Watch Pro Salon & thought that would be the Ball watch I would come away wanting but I found I really liked the grey dial Endurance 1917 GMT they had in the same glass case as the Outlier. Also interesting to see the prototype with an alarm that's coming out next year.
I was there on Saturday and they too showed me the alarm prototype and had to say it was a pretty cool model but I did say at 5k + it's going to be a hard sell . The Endurance in grey looks a cracking watch also . If I'd of known you would of been there I would of said hello matey
@@ClickSpringReview £5k! Wow, I didn't ask how much & yes, not going to fly off the shelves, especially when in Tudor S&G GMT territory. I would have liked to have said hello too & say how much I enjoy your channel, maybe next time 👍🏻
Aww cheers matey ☺️ As I remember he said 5.5k and he said the same thing, they know its higher than there normal price point .
Great video.. ball watches are fantastic.
Chers Sir and yes they are
I love this watch and may go for it. And I don't even need a GMT.
I like you style 😁
If one had a choice, this, or the Tudor Black Bay Pro GMT? This Outlier seems to have a superior spec....
Tough really the BBP has the more classic look to it and the better bracelet /clasp were as the Outlier has a more interesting dial and great lume , I guess it all depends if you want to stand out from the crowd 🤔
Very Nice Pick!
I will say as someone who travels and crosses US time zones but doesn't travel internationally I prefer the caller GMT movements just for the ease of setting the date since I do not wear my GMT everyday to keep the date current. I think a traveler GMT is only nice if you wear it every day to keep the date current.
Thats a fair comment Sir ,nowadays I don't really need a GMT but there still cool , saying that I don't need a 300m diver but I still like them LOL
I just received this beautiful watch a couple days ago, and I have noticed the top portion of the bezel does not glow, only very little if I charge for a long time under the light. Wondering if this is normal. Thanks for the review
First thing thanks for watching the review Mitch as for the bezel it should have lume, I used a UV light to charge it, you can see it glow in the video at 2:18
I’ve tried this watch on today if fitted me perfect, it was so good. I had to take it off and leave the shop because there was a real temptation to buy it. 😂
I’m not overly impressed with the bracelet it could do with some brushed areas but my early impressions were very good, this looks a fantastic watch with great features and you are getting an awful lot for your money.
If you get one I could always brush the bracelet for you 👍🏻
@@ClickSpringReview put a different bracelet on this watch and I would’ve taken it today
@@ClickSpringReview after some research, I’ve learned that ball are basically Now a Chinese company and I would imagine that’s where a lot of the manufacture is taking place now don’t get me wrong that will be the case with a huge amount of watch brands, I know for a fact that in the early noughties Rolex were having certain parts manufactured overseas before being sent back to Switzerland to be finished. but for some reason this has put me off ball.
@@Robert-vw3od As you say many watch brands get parts for China clasps and bracelets are the main ones which come to mind, I know when I spoke to Bremont they said after talking to many UK companies about making watch movement parts for them they simply couldn't do what the Swiss specialist in making all day long. As for Rolex I'll never heard that before Robert
@@ClickSpringReview it was a long time ago now, and from what I can gather, it’s only went on for a short period of time
Barry, I have discovered very interesting fact about my watch today. Case back and this watch is made of steel with very strong magnetic properties, it is NOT
stainless steel 904L🙄🤕
That sounds interesting
Thanks, will Industrial grade de-mag work as well?
Possibly but I use this one ua-cam.com/video/bAM1u6Gwj18/v-deo.htmlsi=yx-i1yoFY0e6vH8Z
A very nice piece. I am a fan and have quite a few Ball watches. The style trend with Ball has gone in a weird direction the past couple of years but this one is simple. The rest of them have too much going on IMO. This is a nice watch although quite thick.
This one I can just imagine on a thick brown leather strap , I'd say its one of the best Ball watches I've come across to date
I have put leather straps on several Ball watches. Ball makes a deployment clasp at 18 mm in width. I had custom leather straps made. The leather strap is a nice touch...
white and cream dials always look great on leather straps but I do prefer a thicker strap say 4mm +
Hey, how would you compare this watch to the Grand Seiko SBGA 465 you reviewed?
They are very different watches, the GS is more a dress style watch being there isn't any lume and being a SD movement it has to go to Seiko every 3/4 years for a service which only they can do at a cost of £400, The Ball is more a tool watch which we can service for a little over half that of the GS. It depends on what you like, its the same comparing a Tesla and a GTR but good but very different Richard
Thank you!

That could be my problem, I was charging under regular light 😢
Just pick yourself up a cheap UV light there less than £5 , its well worth it
I don’t think that’s
the case, my watch has been running fast since day one. I guess the certification process doesn’t work the way I was thinking😞 I don’t want to put any more money to Ball company packet
I've had brand new watches in for review which have had magnetism, before I do any timegrapher video I always de-mag . You can get a cheap one for less than $10
Does the bracelet taper?
I can't remember but in the video it doesn't look like it
It's a beaut !
I think so to, its just a shame it will be over looked being its a Ball
Wish they would re release my magneto S…
Why if you have one you'd be better of with them not re-releasing it as it makes your more special ;)
That bracelet is a deal breaker 😢
I wouldn't care as it would go straight on a thick brown leather strap Jason
@@ClickSpringReview ooohhhh yeah 😀
De pinga
You know I was concerned about buying a Ball because of the butterfly bracelet. I went ahead and bought a Ball and was able to get a good fit.
Its 48hr power reserve not 80
Ball state in there specs 80 hours of power Paul, where did you get 48 from ?
Do they ? Where bud? Is the lift angle 52 , saw somewhere is 47, mines running -4 secs 😢
@@paullinge4154 Here is a link to the power reserve Paul shop.ballwatch.ch/en/manufacture_caliber as for -4 thats still with in COSC specs , I don't know if you wear your watch at night or not but if you don't try placing it dial up as that may give you one plus seconds in regards to time keeping
@@paullinge4154 Lift angle I wasn't sure so played save with 52 , The lift angle has a bigger affect on the amplitude of the watch than timing
@@ClickSpringReview I see it's says the RRM7309-C has 80hr but lead to believe the GMT is 42 😏. Watch is always store dial up over night, if it's 80hr reserve maybe I'm not winding it enough ? Have a timegrapher ordered so I'll see what results I get. Thanks bud 🙂
