About as entertaining as if I tried to stream retail wow, did zero research about any of the classes or skills, and then tried to talk shit about how I'm the best rogue ever while getting carried and causing wipes... in a mythic group.
If you wouldn't find it entertaining in your game, why do you think people that enjoy classic would enjoy you doing it in my game.

Regarding the legendary bow, you should look up discussions on it from back in 2008.
TL;DR: **Thori'dal was BiS by a significant margin for Hunters**
The idea that it was worse than the 2nd BiS (Golden Bow of Quel'Thalas) is a myth. It comes from a surface-level understanding of weapon damage v.s. ammunition damage. Hunter abilities generally derived value from both. Thori'dal didn't use ammunition, so people figured that this made it worse-off than combining Golden Bow of Quel-Thalas with the best ammunition. This ignores how the bow was actually implemented and itemised, though.
1. Blizzard knew that having no ammo would be problematic so they massively tuned up Thori'dal's DPS. Thori'dal did 162.8 DPS while Golden Bow did 97.3. The best ammo was 53 DPS. So even if you subtract the ammo value from that, you're 12 dps (over 10%) above Golden Bow of Quel'Thalas. They also built in the 15% attack speed increase from quivers so no loss there either.
2. Steady Shot, a Hunter's primary DPS ability, did NOT scale with ammunition damage in BC. It only scaled with weapon damage. This meant that higher weapon damage was even more effective. Combined with a T6 set bonus that increased Steady Shot's damage by 10% this made the bow synergise extremely well with the Hunter's damage profile.
3. Thori'dal has a speed of 2.7 v.s. Golden Bow of Quel'Thalas. This was a better attack speed for BM and increased the value of the weapon even further.
The value of Thoridal went down a lot in patch 3.0 when Steady Shot did start to scale off ammunition damage. It was still better, but not by as much. It did kind of suck that because of this it got replaced rather quickly at level 80, but that's into the next expansion at that point. In patch 2.4 nothing was close to Thori'dal and it's a shame that people have kept the initial rumours alive for this long.

In regards to finding a guild, just hit up some speedrun guild. Most of us are recruiting for TBC since we'll be running 2-3 raids. If you've got less time to commit they'll probably still happily have you in their alt raid for example. And if you want to try out speedrunning between raid tiers you can usually step up to one of the main speedrun raids if you're playing a meta class. I'd suggest Arcane Mage on top of the already suggested Hunter since if fights are on the quick side Arcane might end up being the top single target spec. Melee suffer a lot in T5 but will be good in T6, the problem being that there isn't a lot of melee spots in good raids. Enha Shaman might be the best melee pumper since it has utility to justify a spot, but raids will still only want one (as opposed to potentially bringing zero rogues/fury warriors, the other two melee specs that do good damage once you hit BT).
Rumour has it that no one has lived through a kidney shot of his to this day (except for the defensive ones of course)

Look at Preach rediscovering the "5s-Mana Rule". Slow and steady.
the legendary bow is EXTREMELY bis for hunters because you play BM and hence just spam auto shot and steady shot, steady shot which scale with your WEAPON DAMAGE. Normally, you have the bow and then you got arrows, only the bow damage contributes to steady shot dmg, the arrows only increase your auto shot damage.
The legendary bow creates it's own arrows so the arrow dps is added to the bow, and since it's a 2.7 weapon that means you get MUCH higher base damage on the bow and hence your steady shot, which is like 70% of your damage SMACKS.

In response to your comment on the legendary bow "Thori'dal", it is insanely good for hunters, easily 10-15% more dps output with that compared to the next-best thing. It becomes the 2nd best bow of TBC once wrath of the lich king comes out because of changes to how steady shot's damage is calculated in that expansion, but for TBC specifically, Thori'dal is amazingly good.

I lot of people say that Thori'dal is not BIS for hunters in TBC because they repeat some old tropes that used to be true in the 2.4 PTR (before Thori'dal was buffed) and with the release of WotLK (when Steady Shot's dmg calcs were changed to include ammo dps). But for all of live 2.4.0-2.4.3, Thori'dal is BIS for hunters.

Just a tip, open with garrot, then do your rotation, use vanish re apply garrot and continue on, later on with prep you can use that mid combat to and use garrot again, on bosses its so nice to have the extra bleeds.

I lost it when you went to distract the boss, didn't see you got pulled out of stealth from fire damage and face pulled.
That was super fun to watch. The only downside of this was that sharkshoes is now gone forever... you'll always be remembered sharkshoes!
Truthfully, many classes could get really good gear from just crafting up to the T5 level. I know the mage's crafted sets were definitely good until replaced by T5/T6 items. Specifically Spellfire. So I wouldn't worry about getting gear at all until the Mount Hyjal/Black Temple stages anyway. :) Kinda ridiculous how powerful some of those specific crafted pieces were, thinking back on it now. XD

Play a druid. I know you don't care about PvP, but they were OP as their first go around as legit feral. Bear form with gear was a machine. Aside from PvP, you can tank your own dungeons to get gear (very important without dungeon finder!) or heal. I can't remember how druids were DPS-wise.
For you with this being a side gig and your main gig beening so hardcore I would pick Hunter, the class owns with next to no gear.
